bitcoins are not illegal in the usa

That not entirely true. It all depends on the way the law is interpreted (especially when looking at anti-money laundering laws). Its a grey area at the moment.

1786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: SECURITY ISSUES - anyone interested in a manhunt? on: May 17, 2012, 02:16:45 PM
As the other posters said, it is almost impossible to track down the person, law enforcement could track it down

how?

LE can contact the ISP of the IP where the attack originally came from and get details on that person, however, it'll likely be a TOR exit node or a proxy, and if the owner hasn't kept proper logs it can be very difficult/impossible to trace it back to the actual hackers IP. Even then, when there are TOR + proxies involved, getting a conviction in court can be quite difficult as it can be hard to prove that it wasn't just the exit node owner who initiated the attack, or somebody else along the chain.
1787  Economy / Marketplace / Re: CoinURL: shorten links and earn Bitcoins on: May 17, 2012, 02:57:27 AM
Stable version of Google Chrome browser extension now available with extra features added!

To shorten selected text or hyperlink just make right click on it and select "Shorten URL" in the context menu.
To shorten current tab's URL click extension's button located on the right from address bar.
In both cases shortened URL will be automatically copied to the clipboard, or appropriate error message shown.

Sounds cool. All you need now is a Firefox version Smiley

Ive got a newer (1-2 years old) HP desktop with the graphics card shown in the photo. I already downloaded OpenCL support so thats not the problem.

I don't see your graphics card model on the photo, it looks like your mining on your CPU at the moment.

Your only getting 200khash/s so its possible you haven't solved a share yet. You should have atleast 100Mhash to mine, closer to 500Mhash (is it worth your while wasting electricity & reducing the life of your PC to generate <$0.01 worth of BTC?)

Taking orders for debt collection, already have Andrew under the eye of my boys..

PM me if you would like your debts answered for.

No pussy footing around, this is how we do it.

Its a matter of principle now for me.

This little man has disrespected the wrong guy. Smiley

Andrew, here is your tip, and proof to take me seriously.

Those boys in black, and that lone sport bike riding with them..

Ya, thats my cousin, and his friends.

I saved their ass once, they are eternally indebted to me, and its time for my yearly 'family visit'

See you soon! Smiley

Shakaru finally gets what he deserves, only thing is I highly doubt he has any money at all.
1790  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 16, 2012, 11:06:44 PM
Yeah next thing you know he will be demanding like 300 BTC = early adopter tax.

But the thing is, he isn't. He's only asking for 30 BTC, IMO thats very fair for all the hassle you caused + late fees. Consider yourself lucky he isn't asking for more. Now all you have to do is contact him and get his BTC address and send him his money.
1791  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 16, 2012, 10:40:08 PM
Not really but I think he is now demanding like 30 BTC to get the scammer tag removed. Nice bit of cheating me.

Cry

Not really, thats a pretty fair late fee.
1792  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 16, 2012, 10:37:19 PM
Raize, where the hell is that address mate Huh

I want to get rid of the scammer tag now, please !

Are you going to deny giving me an address so I remain a scammer forever Huh

Cry

Did you actually try contacting him other than just posting in this thread?
1793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: custom bitcoin address wanted on: May 16, 2012, 12:50:05 AM
And... How can we add this address to our wallet?

You can import the private key. Each client has a different way of doing that.
1794  Other / Meta / Re: I'm really annoyed by the Bitcoinica thread in the discussion part of this forum on: May 15, 2012, 07:13:41 PM
There are even posts that say "+1" and "sub."  I have news for you... no one cares.

+1

Cheesy

The reason people post "sub" is so that the thread will appear in "Show new replies to your posts". Currently there is no way of making a thread appear there without posting in it. The notify button only sends you an email.
1795  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 15, 2012, 07:09:39 PM
WHY ARE YOU STILL TALKING ?!

He thinks if he shouts loud enough and makes a big fuss the mods will take the scammer tag off and he wont have to refund.
1796  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 15, 2012, 03:36:49 PM
The only person more unjustly labeled a scammer than Bulanula would be Coinhunter/Realsolid.

How is that doxing going sir ?

I believe he lives at 1 World Trade Center.
1797  Other / Meta / Re: Eliminating the one-line "subscribe" posts. on: May 15, 2012, 02:26:14 PM
Sub.

Tongue

This is something we need. It should only take a few minutes to make "notified" threads appear in "Show new replies to your posts"
1798  Other / Meta / Re: Unjust scammer tag on: May 15, 2012, 02:23:23 PM

Sure, I already said I am accepting stolen coins from the Bitcoinica hack here :

Perfect! I used to send my coins to /dev/null, but now I know if I send them here they are 100% gone.
1799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sites accepting 0-confirmation txns on: May 15, 2012, 11:19:11 AM
What is the golden mean for safety and speed of transaction? I've set my site at 3 confirmations IIRC. Is this too low?

6 is what most people use.

3 should be fine for most transactions though.

Does an installed Linux cry at all if you move a HDD to a different system?

Depends, Linux plays nice with most hardware. I've done it plenty of times and have only experienced problems once, when moving a HDD from a PC with a  tri-monitor dual radeon config to a single monitor Nvidia. I just got a black screen at boot. If I had installed Nvidia drivers & configured for one monitor I'm sure it would've been OK.

A live distro (such as the one I linked to above) shouldn't have any problems being moved to a different system.
