1781  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: All external link through anonym.to on: August 19, 2013, 09:31:15 PM
The service have been used for years by many torrent trackers. So I would assume it's somewhat safe to use
I understand why torrent trackers would want to use it, because torrent site referrer = likely warez. But how does it apply to bitcointalk?
1782  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Conductive Cu/Ni Fabric - Let's make Faraday cages on: August 19, 2013, 08:23:06 PM
Grue you are making assumptions without scientific backing because it would be impossible to have any considering how new the technology is.
But I do. EM radiation emitted by cellphones are non-ionizing, and therefore does not have the energy required to damage DNA. Furthermore, the heating effect of of cellphones is non existent because it operates at such low levels. Radiant heat from the sun will heat your head faster. Also, cell phone technology is not new at all. It uses radio, which was discovered in the early 20th century. Cellphones are merely an application of an old technology. If you would please, can you present any scientific backing to your fears?

No one can say for certain yet if the technology is dangerous
But that's just FUD. Why aren't you afraid of all the other "possibly carcinogenic" substances like coffee, pickled vegetables, carbon black, talcum powder, or nickel?

but it would ignoring history to assume its safe because its useful.
I never claimed this, and therefore that is a strawman.

Unless you are a physicist who studies this subject you are being a troll by harassing people in this thread who want to know more about the fabric and not your opinion.
ad hominem pls go

also, since i'm in the mood, i'll mow down all your other uses as well

What country do you live in? My recently renewed passport only has a magnetic stripe, no RFIDs.

1784  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Should we be concerned about EM emissions? on: August 19, 2013, 06:36:54 PM
Do we need to be worrying about the EM emissions from these mining boards (in terms of the effects on other electronic devices and potentially on people)?
electronics: No. Unless the device contains a radio receiver, in which case consult the the regulatory label. also, http://transition.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Engineering_Technology/Documents/bulletins/oet62/oet62rev.pdf

1785  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: weekEND hashrate vs weekDAY hashrate on: August 19, 2013, 05:54:23 PM
"casual" miners that only mine when their computer is on. Or botnets.
1786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wtf? login and it says I posted 67 seconds ago and can't post? on: August 19, 2013, 02:43:01 AM

1787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it safe to re-use a paper wallet BTC address after spending it all? on: August 19, 2013, 01:52:32 AM
Well, re-using keys makes you vulnerable to flawed RNGs.
What are RNGs?
random number generators. see: the recent issue with android based wallets.
1788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin qt problem on: August 18, 2013, 02:49:55 AM
restarting the client will connect you to a new peer. the new peer may have higher upload speeds than your previous peer, hence the sync speed increase.
1789  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Humble Origin Bundle (30%+ DISCOUNT) on: August 17, 2013, 01:57:14 AM
Hmpf, I accidentaly bought 2x the minimum but after that I realized I needed to buy the average to get the Sims 3.

Does anyone have a spare key of Sims3 that he wants to get rid of? I heard that if you enter eg. The Origin key, the Steam key will still work, PM me please, you will get a small tip. ( 0.02 BTC, if it works ofcourse)

Otherwise I have to buy the whole package again, which is not needed.

You can always increase the value of your pack
can you even do that after you made the purchase?
1790  Economy / Goods / Re: 650k volt stun gun iPhone case on: August 17, 2013, 01:54:33 AM
Actually, P=V*A, so you need both amperage and voltage to kill. A high voltage is preferred over high amperage because resistance increases with amperage. Voltage also allows the current to better transfer high resistance materials like skin.

You only need something like .7 amps to kill, volts don't matter you can have 101010101010101001010101010101010101010 volts and get the same shock.
Stop spewing the same thing over again and read my post.

...that's assuming you'll stick around for that long.

here are several of them

Those are some nice "profits". But you're missing some critical information: how much was invested, and how the strategy compares to buy and hold. If your bot can indeed perform better than buy and hold, I encourage you to enter the Automated Trading Contest (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261086.0)
1793  Economy / Goods / Re: 650k volt stun gun iPhone case on: August 16, 2013, 08:23:59 PM
Neat, volts don't matter though, you can have 10 billion volts and it wont shock you any more than 650k.

Amperage is what you need to look at. Even a small amount of volts can kill you if the amps are high enough.

Actually, P=V*A, so you need both amperage and voltage to kill. A high voltage is preferred over high amperage because resistance increases with amperage. Voltage also allows the current to better transfer high resistance materials like skin.

0.8.1 apparently... I'll keep it until a major flaw is discovered... or pruning is implemented!!!
0.8.1 and 0.8.2 is vulnerable to a memory exhaustion attack. It's highly advised to update.
