1781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 14, 2023, 05:24:40 AM
Come one Chelsea, all the time I go for a win for them and they lose. Totally disappointed. I was at the top 10, now moved to 14th position. Let's see what Liverpool do today. These days it's risky to earn points with them too.

There's a game tonight don't forget. 18 people still need to do their scores for it.
I thought I missed it last evening. Logged in and found I did not LOL
1782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction touched forum users in a very sad way... on: January 14, 2023, 05:07:46 AM
Here you are: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434506.msg61586158#msg61586158

There is also one more post, few pages later, when someone else writes about his talk with Yogg.
I was browsing the board until the topic got my attention and then left a response for Yogg and others on that topic. It's really unfortunate and I can think how hard it is for a gambler to accept everything he lost and how he is destroying himself.

Long ago I was a gambling addict. My life was a disaster. At some point people who are very close to me they came forward to help me. To start I had to disconnect myself from all sorts of gambling websites, banned myself from all the local bookies. Then I was taken to a psychiatrist. The process was long but eventually I was able to give up the addiction. Those who follow me knows these days I do not gamble. do not even take free bets if I win from any competitions.

What Yogg need is the support from the people around him. Once he is sober then he can rebuild his career and settle all the debts. People are not going to trust him anymore but at least he can take steps to make things right.
1783  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My Cold Keys Just Got Swiped! All Halving Sets!! on: January 14, 2023, 04:47:10 AM
What a fucking nightmare. Yogg you are reading it even though you said you will never come back here. What a waste of everything earned in years, everything was done for bitcoin and the community.

I can imagine how it feels like, how it looks like, how it thinks like. I have been there but not as bad as you. I did not have to sell my house, car or business but things were moving that way that if in the right time I was not seeking help then I could lose everything.

Listen, nothing is too late. Everyone have family. Surrender to them and ask them to help you. It's a mental disease and it needs treatment.

If you want to to report this to his local authorities, you can contact the Rouen FR, Police Dept here:

[...removed to make it private..]

Thanks... & sorry, I'm just as pissed and angry as the rest of you, probably even more so... Sad
It's better to remove the personal information from here and post in it the investigation section.

I feel bad for everyone who lost value of their favorite collections.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'or prediction thread 2022/2023 on: January 14, 2023, 04:33:08 AM
I mean, Messi won the world cup, right? Isn't that what this award is all about? It's not really a judgement of the player itself, it's what they've achieved. It sort of ignores individual qualities, and what they've done individually for that year, and only really rewards the players that have actually achieved something. Messi, obviously is one of the best players to play the sport, but ultimately winning the World Cup likely sealed the deal.
I heard in the commentary of the final match they were talking about it.
Argentina wins then Messi will get it but if France wins then it will go to Mbappé. Messi is the deal here.

I don't think these awards can define players like Messi, Mbappé, Christian Ronaldo, Neymar Jnr., Robert Lewandosk, Luka Modrić. All of them are great in their styles and achievements.
1785  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] SatoshiAuction Review Campaign | Get paid upfront for your review ! on: January 14, 2023, 04:02:40 AM
Since satoshiauction feels its too risky to run the site at this point, according to this post, I'd like to inform that anyone who hasnt participated in the game yet (not provided any review) can refund the payment back to the same address you got from.
Sending the refund soon. Sorry due to some unexpected events I was not online for last 3 days. My phone was broke too. You can tell totally disconnected from internet. Thanks for your message or I may not even notice it so quick.
1786  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Auction - Bid on a prize where 98% of each bid is added to the prize. on: January 10, 2023, 05:46:43 PM
Bids don't accumulate. It just takes the maximum bid that you sent.
Interesting design choice, that makes it an entirely different game play. I expect people to be less likely to overbid by a tiny amount this way, but it levels the playing field for everyone: nobody can build on their previous bids.
Maybe, when your site has many active players, you can experiment by adding "accumulation games" to see which one is more appealing.
Accumulation means adding up with the previous amount?
In that case in a regular auction how do we play it? You call 2 then I call 3, then you call 4. Basically you are adding more 2 with the previous call. So it's accumulation. I was expecting the same but it seems it's not the case.
1787  Other / Meta / Re: Why are account farmers still left to roam free in the forum? on: January 10, 2023, 05:39:29 PM
Selling merit may seem bad but not forced to be prohibited. Only if a merit source found to be involved in selling merit then Theymos will remove him from the list.

Merit system was introduced 5 years ago, it's pointless now to continue talking about it. We accepted all pros and cons.

I know that it is not prohibited but they should be hunted down and negative tagged to stop such activities. I understand that the merit system is already old, I was an active member when it was first introduced and I understand all the pros and cons, but we need to keep filtering such stuff to further clean up the forum.
Feel free. I don't think it will make any change. Theymos himself forbid the community to tag anyone for merit abusing. Maybe you were there when the system was introduce but surely you missed the development or you wouldn't even create the thread. Get yourself upgraded LOL
1788  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 10, 2023, 05:23:21 PM
How is it going to resolve the problem? Because of the tag you left, many campaign mangers will deny him joining their campaign, companies will deny him to give their projects, resulting he is not going to financially benefit from the forum. As per his explanation the forum is his only earning source. sucks but it's reality for him.
It's a delusion. I, like other managers, have repeatedly accepted users with red tags into the campaign, especially when the user has more green tags than red tags (we are not talking about tags associated with outright fraud). No self-respecting manager will remove high quality posters from a campaign just because they got a red tag, this rule is more like a deterrent factor for those accounts that generate spam (as far as I remember, you also participated in the signature campaign when you had a red tag ).
Fair enough, I would like to see how it develops. Especially I would like to observe in any of your campaign when you have spot and OP applies then your willingness of accepting OP.

Hopefully you don't mind the yellow warning too.

I've left him a neutral tag but I think a negative is acceptable. He himself has acknowledged that.

Red tag by icopress is fine everyone, he has all the right to make that judgment, kindly stop bickering about it.
I don't call it happily accepting but to accept because arguing is not going to help him. I see a surrender there because his voice are weak now. I don't call it acknowledgment for real. Stop being JollyGood (sorry man JG, no mean to discredit you, you built up your own identity). Give the man a fair chance.

I am sorry, maybe my responses are not diplomatic like many others but I like straight talk. The forum do not need policemen and a crime bureau to spy others all the time.

After someone bid 1 sat more than my bid, it gave me the chance to see if I can raise my existing bet by depositing 0.00000666 BTC again from the same address.
I am the culprit LOL. According to the game rules a fraction more means all previous depositor lost it. Interestingly bitcoin does not have a decimal of of 1 sat 😂

Quote
I think the amount was added to the total prize, but my Bid wasn't increased (after 40 confirmations). My guess is this is not the intended behaviour.
Update: Game 32 ended, and my last deposit was never shown.
Did you get refund? I will need the piece of information before starting my review
1791  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinballer - An open-source multi-player Bitcoin gambling game. on: January 10, 2023, 07:17:51 AM
@Bot, because of the bug although now it's showing correct share on the site but you received only the half of the coins you sent. Which means you deserved more 0.00049 BTC from the game which I sent few minutes ago.

I'm human Tongue
I was wondering why I received 0.00049 BTC, since Coinballer already sent me 0.0005 BTC when OP did the payouts manually. Judging by the blockchain, he sent you back your 0.001 BTC. This manual fixing is confusing, so now what? Shall I send it back to you again?
So you are telling me to stop calling you Bot? 😉
What next? You are not an AI yet. 😂
No, you don't send it back. According to the game rules you deserve the amount I sent. It was the website error which somehow skipped the code block or missed the code block to execute your payout. Enjoy it brother.

Bro can you please check your PM? I left it immediately after you made the post but did not receive a response yet. Thank you.

Just a heads up: There's a chance that some people might've requested a username change for privacy purposes, and such threads kind of defeats the purpose of the name change.

I do not agree with opinions in the spirit of "OP gets gets multiple negative feedback -> he's no longer able to earn from his bounty/sig campaigns activity -> creditors get nothing". There are enough examples on the forum when, with reputational losses, users continue to successfully conduct business (the tag will be changed to neutral when the lost/stolen funds are refunded).
From icopress   2023-01-10 : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=950662;dt

How is it going to resolve the problem? Because of the tag you left, many campaign mangers will deny him joining their campaign, companies will deny him to give their projects, resulting he is not going to financially benefit from the forum. As per his explanation the forum is his only earning source. sucks but it's reality for him.

Besides, look at the long history he have in the forum. Think logically (since you are a campaign manager yourself) what benefit it brings him to steal the funds and ruin his long established business. Nothing adds up.

You guys are too triggered to leave a feedback to others no matter neutral or negative or positive. I noticed the tendency especially the users who joined from 2017 and later. Some of you feel you are too much responsible to involve in anything that matters the reputation and jump on quick decision. Have I seen a feedback from LoyceV, yahoo62278, NeuroticFish, Hhampuz or me. All of them read the story so far. Others who are regular in reputation board and older members, don't you think many of them already read it but have they left a feedback yet? No.

It's not always black and white. Someone makes a mistake or became a victim of a bad incident and you all show up, destroy them without giving a chance to redeem. Ultimately you are the ones are causing trouble, liable to lose business for two parties. Both the victims. In the specific case, julerz12 will not be able to generate any revenue, results the two company don't get their lose back. How is your feedback helping a single member in the forum?

What would you feel and do if you are in the same shoe of julerz12? I hope your answer is not going to: You will never be in trouble in your life.
1794  Economy / Reputation / Re: Campaign managers acting as Escrow on: January 10, 2023, 05:56:08 AM
using this logic, maybe 2 users are qualified to be campaign managers cause I don't think many of the old or new managers are holding thousands these days.
Has any of them ever provided any proof of fund? I did not see any in an open discussion. I remember Hhampuz paid out of his own pocket, you also did although I can not remember how much was the USD amount at the times. Royce77 also did, not long ago (I think he was the latest campaign manager who was in trouble until julerz12) and as far as I can remember it was something $3,200 or $6,200.

You must remember bitcointalk charity? The mismanagement of fund. Did the escrow ever made it correct? I doubt he had enough to cover it up.

As long as any of them provide any proof of fund, it does not matter if the person is sole escrow provider or a campaign manager who is keeping custody of the marketing budget, it's difficult to tell that they are capable of recovering the lose from their own pocket, it does not matter how reputable, or old you are in the forum. If the accident with julerz12 was not happening then wouldn't we think that he have enough money to resolve if anything happen with the escrow coins? We would.

When someone is opening an escrow service, or managing a campaign with holding marketing budget, depending on their past history we are trusting them. This is a fact.

But these service providers should have the moral obligation that they have the financial solvency to refund or resolve with their clients when anything bad happens with them or their reputation will effect. You are securing someone else money but at the end you are actually giving a false definition of security. That's not supposed to be the meaning escrow.
1795  Economy / Reputation / Re: Campaign managers acting as Escrow on: January 09, 2023, 10:50:05 PM
This comment is not about a particular incident but just a generic personal opinion.

There will always be a debate about whether signature campaign managers should hold the funds or whether an escrow should be used to facilitate the process in order to mitigate any potential scams. Having an escrow does not necessarily mean a scam cannot take place but it adds a further of protection. It can backfire if the escrow decides to steal but there is always a risk no matter which way these matters of business are conducted.
It does not matter if you are a signature campaign manager or a sole escrow provider. If you are holding someone else money, it's your responsibility. You can not make an excuse. If you lose the money then loan from bank and repay but you have to repay. If you do not have the back up money to repay then you should not hold someone else money before anything else.
1796  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked on: January 09, 2023, 10:45:14 PM
I'm not entirely sure how this happened but I'm pretty sure I've been hacked.
Man!!! I am so sorry to hear it. Many members are expressing their doubts but I do not think it make sense in any way that a campaign manager who built his business for years will give up everything for few K? Very unlikely and suicidal act. Even for debate, if it was done by him then again it does not make sense to reply and let it know to others. He could logout, and never show off. It's all waste of time for him.

So, let's leave the doubt aside, whoever is doubting fuck you assholes. Imagine if you were in such situation, what the fuck would you think you would do considering it is a lot of money for you?

@julerz12, I am sorry again brother. The best course of action will be to make an arrangement with the owners. Show them your true intention and promise them to repay as per the deal you both will agree. Life is not easy, sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's very hard but it's always a blessing to live.

Next time use either hardware wallet or a multisignature wallet with having the keys in different devices. Never store the private key or seed phrase in digital format and in the same device for multisignature wallet. We all do mistakes and pay the price for it. You paid for it but don't let it happen again to pay for the same mistake.
1797  Other / Meta / Re: Why are account farmers still left to roam free in the forum? on: January 09, 2023, 09:40:31 PM
After the merit system, it seemed like the things are getting normal, spam and spammers getting less than before and everything is falling in place. But, what I see in Digital goods section is not really pleasing. Account farmers are still openly selling merits and accounts, and for some reason, their threads are not locked/closed.
Why? What's the essence of the merit system if we still allow such things in the forum?
There are many points to be taken from your questions:

Selling merit may seem bad but not forced to be prohibited. Only if a merit source found to be involved in selling merit then Theymos will remove him from the list.

Account buy sell is discouraged, forum members do not like it so they tag accounts.

Threads are not locked/closed because there are no such rules that enforce to lock a thread by mod. This forum is a prime example of freedom of speech and open for you to do anything.

If you find anyone spamming, report it to moderator.

Merit system was introduced 5 years ago, it's pointless now to continue talking about it. We accepted all pros and cons.
1798  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinballer - An open-source multi-player Bitcoin gambling game. on: January 08, 2023, 04:42:35 AM
In our case game 22. My tx confirmed already but it's not showing on the site. Considering it's not showing yet, the prize for both of us are 0.000049 BTC each where it was supposed to add more 0.001 BTC with the total except the 2% charge.

Sorry for the bug, I have made the payouts manually. Please let me know if something like this happens again.
I confirm that I received the coins I sent. I did not check my wallet yesterday but discovered it today earlier. It took me sometimes to figure out from where the BTC came until I read it.

1799  Other / Meta / Re: Can not quote to a post on: January 08, 2023, 04:24:11 AM
This is the most plausible reason why OP cannot quote that reply.

I just went through the motions of ignoring the altcoin discussion board and then using the link in this thread to access that post and try to quote it; I am hit with the exact same error message.

On trying to create a reply, the message box opens, but I didn't try to send a post to know if I don't get an error message back as well.
It shows the error only when you try to quote, but when you use reply then it works. I have many boards on ignore and after reading the responses I tried on another board results the same error.

Thanks everyone for your responses and checking the error. It resolves the issue. New learning though. I will lock the topic.

Any chance you click hide on that's section (because the message contain no longer viewable by you)? I can quote it without any problem.
As you can see, I can see the topic clearly or how did I take the screen shot or even was able to reply the OP 🤣?
