1781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Altcoins match up to Bitcoins on: November 26, 2017, 01:20:40 AM
Other Alternative cryptocurrencies are being launched day in day out. Would these Altcoins be widely accepted as Bitcoins?
No, we are not going to have a world were every merchant accepts 800 different coins that is ridiculous we need to have a currency that is accepted by most merchants, and maybe some coins that are accepted by some, that is why bitcoin is going to be the main crypto, but some other coins like LTC and ETH are going to be accepted by a good number of businesses as well.
1782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that atl-coins are still "alt"? on: November 26, 2017, 12:04:02 AM
I have observed that the bitcoin fans are kind of jealous of the "alts" or simply despise them. I think that calling "alt" to ethereum, Dash, Monero and many others is no loguer valid. It is just like if the "dollar" was a true fiat and the Euro just an "alt-dollar"
That is not the reason, it is simply a definition, for example every single currency besides your local currency is a foreign currency, that means is a currency not printed by the local government, that is it, it is a concept, that is all, it is not an attempt to try to lessen the other coins, even if bitcoin disappeared any other coin other than bitcoin will still be an altcoin.
1783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia says BTC will never be legalised - do you think we'll see a knock on? on: November 25, 2017, 07:32:01 PM
It's very likely that what he mentioned as use of blockchain would be on the government's own fiat. Bitcoin coming in is basically money from abroad and it seems the Russia wants total control of its economy. Digital ruble anyone?

It is quite true. I believe that it will. Russia will never allow the free circulation do not of their territory is a controlled currency. The methods of the struggle can be very hard. During the Soviet era in Russia shot people for trade dollars. Putin came from the KGB so I assume any options.

Oh, that's horrible.  Angry

Back in the XX century, russians said Russia would never be capitalist because socialism would prevail all over the world. Look what happened.

Ignore this fool.

Was it also Russian that advocated printing a lot of money to the point that it becomes worthless so that people would no longer bother working for money? Commies sure comes up with a lot of crazy ideas.
I would agree with you on your third point but capitalist countries are not doing such a good job either, the US printed a lot of money in the previous years and many other countries around the world did the same, things are about to get really difficult maybe not in this year but soon enough since a global economy based on debt cannot last forever.
1784  Economy / Economics / Re: impacts off cryptocurrency on: November 25, 2017, 04:58:11 PM
Bitcoin has no current impact.

I mean, of course there are many people buyng, trading and playing with bitcoin but come on. For the moment it has no significant impact.
Proof is that in most countries, bitcoin and its community is simply ignored by the government.

I do not say that bitcoin has no future and will never change society, I affirm that changes are slow. Please, stop believing that bitcoin is a huge change, completely disrupting society. For the moment at least!  Cheesy
Right now the impact of bitcoin is in the low side and while most governments of the world do not give too much attention to bitcoin users there is no doubt they have bitcoin in their minds since they know in what bitcoin could become, maybe bitcoin is not going to destroy banks as some people in the forum want, but it is going to give to us an alternative way of payment all over the world and that is huge.
1785  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin only paving the way for visa and mastercard's e-money. on: November 24, 2017, 11:51:18 PM
People claim that bitcoin will really start playing a role in the next economic crackdown. EG: when debt is too high, people will defect into bitcoin and leave the current broken economic system behind, promoting the biggest wealth redistribution in history(something like what happened with the tally system back in england). Will the system allow for this? They would lose all control. I know this has been discussed in a higher level before, but lets put ourselves in that situation how would it unfold. I know some may argue that it wont be a quick process but rather adoption over time. However even if that's the case there has to be a tipping point. That is the process I want to understand.

What bitcoin needs to be above all other things in order to profit from a potential debt downwards spiral doom scenario, is to be, censorship resistant money that cannot be confiscated. This is what you need, you don't need fast and cheap transactions, that could come later on. So forget about visa, mastercard or any of that.

To resist a big tsunami that you will not be able to dodge, you don't want a fast lightweight boat, but a solid bunker. When the tide is over you will be rich and laughing at all the guys that were bragging with their yatchs.

After surviving this with great gains, if someone comes up with a coin that's as solid as BTC but fast and cheap with no downsides, then you can invest some of your BTC into that. So far no one has solved that problem, so be thankful you got BTC to put your money there, otherwise you would have been stuck with cumbersome gold. I can't find any other asset that is neutral to a potential USD collapse that would lead to profits.

I see where you are coming from, but the real issue is the battle that will take place between too big to fail and bitcoin. Debt is not gonna be scratched in the next economic depression is going to be transferred to e money, and with that transition they will manage to drive people away from bitcoin, not me of course, but you get the idea. They will promote a pseudo paradigm shift by replacing paper money by emoney and then the real battle between bitcoin and the institutions will begin. Will the trust in institutions be damaged enough for decentralisation to take over? Otherwise amazon will be ruling the world with apple and google in 20 years. scary times

But by that time the trust in the institutions will be lost, a systemic fail of that magnitude is going to be huge and people are not going to trust their governments anymore, that is why most of the time after that you see a return to gold backed currencies, but now with the invention of bitcoin people are going to prefer to use something governments cannot control so bitcoin is going to be adopted like crazy in such a scenario.
1786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If china got their own coin? on: November 24, 2017, 10:29:32 PM
Even if china launches its own coin, still it would not have any impact on bitcoin since bitcoin is already not dependent on china for its progress.

If the chinese government thinks that if they introduce their own coin, then all the bitcoin holders would shift to their coin, then they would have to get seriously upset.Bitcoin holders would not switch to the new coin since the new coin would not at all be a decentralized coin and it would be fully controlled by the government. Also,it would not be giving such huge profits like bitcoin. So,the chinese investors are not fool enough to buy such government issued coin instead of bitcoin.
Correct, why would anyone want to change their bitcoin for that centralized coin, this is what many governments do not understand they think they are going to fool people by just creating their own crypto with all the old flaws of fiat, people do not want that, people want to be free from their control and that is why bitcoin is being chosen over all the fiats of the world.
1787  Economy / Economics / Re: Replace the dollar with a cryptocurrency. How exactly? on: November 24, 2017, 07:51:46 PM
A currency is just a debt title. Someone gets a  service from you and "writes" you a debt title. then you take that and aquire something from someone else. BTC can replace that with some advantages - Itīs decentralized and not inflationary. However it has to overcome itīs scalability problems. Moreover it should be more stable, price wise and fungible to become a real currency for everyday use.

I took bitcoin as an example but we can talk about cryptocurrency that  will solve the problem of scalability.
So are there any problem theoretically speaking substituting dollars with a cryptocurrency?

There's no need to replace dollars for bitcoins and it would not be efficient in daily life. As a cryprocurrency it would do just fine, but as the dollar, although it's one of the most important, is not the only currency, you cannot just replace it for bitcoin.

In a near future all payments will be made via smarthphones or hardware connected to the net.
So what would be the difficulty in everyday use?

So what me and some people think bitcoin will be the global currency, it won't beat dollar and be more popular but it will be like a dollar, so we could just pay or do some things with dollar and bitcoin at the same time.

So what's the point to have double currrency?

Your example is flawed because not even the dollar represents the whole world economy there are many other currencies that are very strong, what I think it is going to happen is that bitcoin is going to become one of the strongest currencies of the world and a significant amount of trade is going to move through it, it is not going to become the first world currency because governments are never going to allow that.

So it will be another currency like other?
Again what is the point?

you are just exchanging your bitcoins for dollars  just like you are exchanging your gold to dollars , there was no need to replace dollars with gold right ? bitcoin was just like that there was really no reason to make bitcoin replace dollar.

In this case i don't understand why we talk about "closing banks" "decentralized currency" if we can replace the paper money and the economy managed by bank etc etc.
In the long run ,without replacemenent ,who control the money will be on the top anywayright?
The point is that bitcoin is a better currency, right now is slower and more expensive than cash, but those problems are being worked on but once that is solved you will have a deflationary currency and not an inflationary currency, instead of losing purchasing power every day your currency will be a lot more valuable with time, this will curb the useless consumption of society and will lead to a better and more relaxed way of life.
1788  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: any predictions or special investment scheme for the upcoming new year? on: November 24, 2017, 06:37:29 PM
I think we are going to see more ICO regulation and more governments getting involved (either being a part of or trying to control).

My guess is bitcoin continues its exponential price rise and I will just be hodling most and trading some.

It seems to me that those two things combined are going to give a terrible blow to icos in the next year, the government regulation is something I do not like but it seems it was necessary especially with the number of scams, but with the price of bitcoin going higher and higher then why we need to invest in icos, the answer is that most of us are very happy with our earnings and will not invest in icos as long as this bull market continues.
1789  Economy / Speculation / Re: any prediction for bitcoin price for december 2017 on: November 24, 2017, 04:57:42 PM
I dont know what to do, a lot of people are saying that it will be crashing during this week, but some other people are saying that is going to reach an historic price this week.
i dont know what to do, maybe it would be better if i keep my bitcoins for some more time, but it is a very difficult situation because i dont know if it is going to go down, or up, and i think that we all are in the same situation at the moment. But a lot of altcoins are increasing a lot, maybe this is the new era of altcoins again?
Probably it is going to be more than $9000 by december, but maybe less than $7000 if bitcoin cash decides to push bitcoin to less than 7k again.

We all have to take difficult decisions with our money, but a basic principle is to do nothing until you are convinced of what to do, this does not mean you are going to hold forever but if you are confused about what to do, do not make the mistake of taking a rushed decision, if you do that then the possibilities you make a mistake are way bigger.
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pump and dump groups? on: November 23, 2017, 09:59:40 PM
I heard there's some *mostly* legitimate pump and dump groups that operate on Yobit. Is there any truth to that and if you've ever been a part of one how was your experience?

Edit For those wondering:
For those who were wondering, I wasn't actually planning on joining one; I just heard about them and were curious about if they really were there or not and how they were like.
The mere concept of a pump and dump group means they cannot be legitimate, it is a scam, no matter where they operate, they decide beforehand what coin they will tell their members to pump and as such they are going to buy into that coin at good prices and then when they give the signal everyone buys at inflated prices while they sell and get profits.
1791  Economy / Speculation / Re: US Inflation on: November 23, 2017, 08:54:32 PM
First iPhone ever released $400 (June 2007)

10 years later

iPhone 8 cost $700
iPhone X cost $1000
take average of these 2.
----------------------

I'd say its a pretty accurate inflation indicator
Every time you make those kind of exercises you see the real inflation, I have keep track of the price of milk in my country and I get similar results, according to our government the inflation is something like 3% or 4% per year but when I track the price of milk I get something close to 10% per year, you can do this with almost any product and you will get the same results in my country.
1792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: are there's any chance for eth to reach 0,14 btc ? on: November 23, 2017, 07:29:06 PM
I agree that ETH promising coin, but as long as Bitcoin does not fall it wouldn't be worth 0,14.
And the probabilities of that happening are looking smaller and smaller since bitcoin is looking very solid above 8000 dollars and the bull run we are going to get at the end of year is going to be great if we get the investment of the CME in the second week of December as it is the current plan, if that happens then I think we can see 10000 dollars before the end of the year.
1793  Local / Esercizi commerciali / Re: what do you think will be the future of this market? on: November 23, 2017, 05:59:27 PM
The government will accept this market in future they won't have any option the value for bitcoin will increase by so much and private business will also start preferring bitcoin and after sometime the government will have to accept bitcoin in the economy with all the oressure from people
They are going to accept it but the issue is how are they going to accept it, are they simply going to say OK and let bitcoin do its thing because that is very unlikely, what they are going to try to do is to try to regulate it but I think that at the end even that is going to fail since people are going to try to get around that regulation and bitcoin is perfect for that since no one can take your bitcoin from you without your consent.
1794  Economy / Economics / Re: Algorithms nothing else on: November 23, 2017, 04:50:29 PM
We only shifting the simple work to robots and create on other places new.
There will be still stuff to do which a robot will not able to do it. But not in 50 years.
Read the book Homo Sapiens. This guy write it just how it would be in 2050 and above.

Everything works with algorithms. Even a Police officer, lawyer or Doctor could be replaced by a machine.

Machines are replacing people that is correct, but it is going to be impossible for them to do every single thing that a human can, at least not now and not even in the future, besides we have used machines to enhance our own performance so unless a machine is that much better than us then the future you are predicting is not going to happen since a human plus a machine is a better option than just a robot.
1795  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency as the Imperial End-game on: November 22, 2017, 11:45:34 PM
I think most of us agree a big crash is coming?

The only questions may be: when? And: what the planned end game is for a post crash world?   Huh

There are conspiracy theorists who believe a deliberate crash is intended to setup a one world government. After the next massive bust cycle, bankers could step in and reorganize. They control the wealth inside the global network of tax shelters. That gives them leverage over many world leaders who will agree to anything they propose.

I would like to hear alternate theories. Its an interesting topic. But not much is being said about it.
The problem like always is knowing when things like this are going to happen, we know the current system cannot go forever but since they can manipulate the system so well the system could last for many more decades, but once it is over it is obvious the ones in power are going to try to impose a system that benefits them and not the average people, so I think they are going to try to create a world currency, one government and the harmonization of taxes.
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future price on: November 22, 2017, 10:11:26 PM
All Russian ICOs are going with etherum and not waves... if all the attention is in eth, it's going to be really hard for any other smart contract platform (or right now I'd call it ico platform) because all buyers are in eth... it's network effects, I don't think transactions per second matter much
Exactly I like waves , but to me they are trying to do too much at the same time, they need to become the best at something and that is something they have been unable to to do, whenever you think of a characteristic of waves there is some other project that surpass it, and while speed of transaction seems to be something in which they are really good that is simply not enough.
1797  Economy / Economics / Re: Obligatory: Is Bitcoin Cash A Bubble? on: November 22, 2017, 08:19:42 PM
it is a giant bubble, of course, that bubble is even much more bigger than bitcoin. bitcoin cash went up by more than 150% in a few hours, it was obviously going to crash at anytime.
And now it is below $800 each bitcoin cash, they dropped a lot if you see the charts, it touched $2800 as an all time high, it was a lot of money. Poor of those people who bought those scammycash at $2800, they are now in a huge loss of more than two thousand dollars, lmao.
I bought some of them but i sold them and made some profit from them.

This may seem harsh but I’m not sorry for them, all of those that bought at that price were speculators trying to make a quick profit, they knew very well it was a bubble, they were just caught at the wrong time holding the wrong coin and they deserve every single loss they got, they have no one else to blame but themselves, if they play it safe they will not have those huge losses.
1798  Economy / Economics / Re: Some things to consider before starting a business on: November 22, 2017, 06:31:39 PM
1. must real read about your business

2. ask for effective for long time

3. try to  have smart team

4.dont think to make fast money

maybe i just add a little to start a business :

1. think of good techniques to start a business
2. choose a strategic place to run smoothly
3. Create a vision and mission in the business
All of that is fine, but the three more important things are, can you afford it, most of the time a business is not going to be successful right away, second there is a market for it, if there is not a market for it then the business is going to fail, and third, is it innovative, if your business does what every business does then you are not going to get a lot of success, you need to do something new and fresh.
1799  Economy / Economics / Re: will next decade be the bitcoin era ?? on: November 22, 2017, 05:19:54 PM
As by seeing the usage graph and profiting graph i can easily assume that in next decade of 2020 people will mainly relay on bitcoin and the main thing to survive in the next era will be bitcoin and it will be frequently used by everyone and that will help many regions to boost their economy as well so hope for the best, many people are eagerly waiting for the btc system to be implemented.

This first decade in the life of bitcoin has set the ground for what it is to come, I do not think people will rely on bitcoin as their main way of payment, but I do think that bitcoin is going to become an essential part of our lives and that anyone not accepting bitcoin in their business is going to lose money and eventually disappear to business that do accept bitcoin.
1800  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has already reached 8000$,when do you think it will reach 10000$? on: November 21, 2017, 11:10:28 PM
What are your predictions?
Before the new year or after?
And would it be stable or just reach 10k$ and fall again.
It seems we are going to reach 10k before the end of the year but I do not think it is going to be a stable price, we are going to get there and the price is only going to be there for a few hours or a few days and then we are going to get a correction in the price as people begin to take their profits, but that is not really an issue at that point every single person in the forum that bought today will be enjoying good profits.
