then if you're so "real" why don't you put your money where your mouth is. i'll bet you 100 BTC to be held in escrow that the USD price per BTC will be higher one year from now than it is today. you're a douche so i don't expect you to take the bet.
You should do it in USD, else it’s an asymmetric bet where he wouldn’t really gain anything if he was right (as he is extremely bearish). fine, i'll bet 100 BTC or $681 USD. of course he'll NEVER take it cuz he's a paid shill. Yeah, I wonder why noone of them has actually taken up such a bet yet, I’ve really seen many offers. b/c they're paid shills who are scared shitless that btc will go thru the roof which it will. spineless trolls who are only here to try and knock the price down. just wait i say and you're gonna see the explosion of a lifetime.

I thought I would start a thread and sort of state my purpose in having created a Casascius Physical Bitcoin (available here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41892.0;all - moved to Goods). I sincerely hope somebody copies the idea of a physical bitcoin and delivers one cheaper, faster, better than me. While yes I'll make some money making physical bitcoins, it's not my aspiration and not what I want to do for the rest of my life - I just want bitcoin to succeed. And somebody else can surely do a better job of this than me. The hologram project was fun - I had to put up about $2k for the custom holograms to happen and it took five or six weeks. They turned out really well. OK, so now what? Now we can cross out the line in the first sentence of the FAQ, which is that "a bitcoin is not tangible". I just made the edit to the Wiki just now. That's a big starter. The fact that a bitcoin is no longer invisible, I think, is huge in and of itself. OK, yes there are Bitbills and they are great and I own a few, but to me, there was something about there needing to be a bit "coin". To make the physical bitcoin project self-sustaining, I must charge a significant premium on the coins, which sort of sucks. Two things to say about that. For one, that makes it more of a collector's item than an investment vehicle. If you want to hold bitcoins simply for their value, it's best to simply hold digital bitcoins if you can. But on the other hand, physical bitcoins are clearly in demand and they ought to command some sort of premium if passed around as payment. I'm not sure if I'd spend one at Meze Grill for face value, but it's not ridiculous to consider them as having a trade value of "1 BTC + 1 USD" (the USD representing the premium) and asking them to be considered as such. I only ordered enough materials to make a few thousand of these physical bitcoins, and they are all denominated as 1 BTC. If I wanted to throw more resources at it, I might have gone after larger coins for denominations like 10 and 100 BTC, which might be valuable to an investor. For three or four bucks (in quantity) you can get a fairly hefty "commemorative" sort of coin custom designed on the open market, which isn't a bad premium to pay if you're using it to tangiblize 100 BTC. Somebody might succeed in talking me into it. Anyway, here's to doing my part to help bitcoin succeed. way to go Casascius.

Wise man say, "Only a fool buy investment on downtrend with no present indication of future uptrend." Wise man also say, "Fool buy 1 dollar for 1 and 1/5 dollar, but smart man sell 1 dollar for 1 and 1/5 dollar."
Wise man additionally say, "Fallacy is not made truth by multiplied propagation, nor is truth made fallacy because no one will believe it."
Wise man further say, "Idea is good, but better idea is couple BTC code with useful goods. A birthday card with BTC code is better than BTC code alone."
Wise man finally say, "Man who becomes outraged at expressed opinion will not be outraged if he does not identify with contrasting opinion."
since you're so "wise" douche, lets make a bet. i'll bet you 100 BTC to be held in escrow that the price of BTC in USD terms one year from now will be higher than it is today. Wise man say bet is inherently flawed. Wise man see that if he wins, he does not win much. Wise man see that if he loses, he loses much more. Wise man also doesn't want BTC value to plummet and instead wants BTC to succeed. Wise man thinks you create non-sequiturs from what wise man say. oh, one other thing, douche. you'll be happy to hear that i've already offered to buy 100 of these physical bitcoins from casascius. where's your conviction?

The payout is more for one than the other. Besides, wise man doesn't bet. This why wise man profits. no, you're just a paid shill with no convictions behind anything you say here on this forum. the bet is fair esp. since i've offered to denominate it in BTC or USD. so stop pretending to be wise, douche.

fantastic! this is the "real" Bitcoin; as in future of.

There is no mess going on with Bitcoin right now. Is someone still thinking about Bruce Wagner or the hacks? Who cares? The security in sites such as Mt. Gox has been improved very significantly, Tradehill has been secure from the start and is building the Bitcoin.com site which will include a site similar to Mybitcoin in functionality. Nothing is wrong. Everything is great. We are all very happy here. Reality check: It's only been 90 days since the Mt. Gox break in and crash. Tradehill has only been operating for about 90 days. In the last 90 days we've had the MyBitcoin collapse, the Global Standard Bank scam, the Dwolla reversals, the Bruce Wagner expose, and a steady decline of about 20% per month in the price of Bitcoins. There's still no outside audit to provide assurance that Mt. Gox has all the funds deposited with them. Get real. then if you're so "real" why don't you put your money where your mouth is. i'll bet you 100 BTC to be held in escrow that the USD price per BTC will be higher one year from now than it is today. you're a douche so i don't expect you to take the bet.

Nice one fucker.
Well this is off to a good start What about online gambling due to the fact that states around the world are banning it?
Bitcoin doesn't solve the problem of online gambling bans if you are going Cash->BTC->Casino->BTC->Cash, it gives the Feds an opening to nail you on laundering charges. I am a bit confused about the concept of darkpools. But this is how I take it. People can trade without it being official (introduced to the blockchain). Now if darkpool trading is possible then how would tracing it be possible? when you remove them from the exchange they get sent to an address of your choice. since your name is associated with your acct then so is that address.

Incidentally, who wants to wager if or when Casascius will be Bitcoin's Bernard von Nothaus? Thinking of how to word it, and guessing what dates to use: - http://www.betsofbitco.inhe doesnt use the word dollar anywhere and these dont resemble us coins at all.. so i doubt he will have problems. great job with the coins btw, glad to see they are finally real. These look awesome but...
Why would you buy this given the current state of the Bitcoin market/economy?
what state is that? btc coins have been low before, there is also nothing wrong with bitcoins being low. Bitcoins might have been priced way too high in the first place. QUestion for you ooooo so wise one, do you think cassius got this idea last night and made these this morning? This might be nice as an investment if there was a good indicator that your investment would give you any kind of return. I don't see good reason to believe this right now. and that is your opinion, which is not shared by a very very very large ammount of people, including those of us who have made great profits investing in bitcoins. How about spread some fud in the speculation channel and not in someones thread who is actually trying to do something good for the community and actually produced something unique. Heck even if BTC was dying, i would buy one of these to keep. Plus they are great for promoting bitcoins which could change the market arround but you dont want to hear about that do you. These would also be nice if I could take them and walk into a store and give them to a merchant to purchase goods. This just isn't possible unless you live around the corner from Meze Grill. My conclusion: This is novel, awesome looking, and way before it's time, but in this case being 'way before it's time' is not in the interest of the consumer. YOU OPINION, doesnt seem to matter to all these consumers in here. Look if you dont want one, dont buy one, I dont see why you had to come up with all this FUD and opinionated crap. Do you actually see any problem with the coin that has to do with the coin and not BTC? anything worth actually complaining about besides "OMG THIS IS SO F'N STUPID BTC IS ABOUT TO DIE!!!" If everyone had attitudes like yours, we might as well all give up, cause BTC wouldnt go anywhere. Like i said if you dont like it, dont buy one, if you want to complain bitcoin is dying, go do that in speculation, personally i think it is a great time to buy BTC and an even better time to buy and give out these coins. I dont think i would give these things out as promotional items if BTC was trading at $50 a coin. Great job cassius and ignore the fear spreading fud'rs. It really takes a special person to go into someones tread trying to sell something and then rather complain about the product itself, complain about the state of the BTC market. LOL!!! +10. the Joint is a douche.

Bitcoin doesn't solve the problem of online gambling bans if you are going Cash->BTC->Casino->BTC->Cash, it gives the Feds an opening to nail you on laundering charges. How would they know it was used for gambling? Because bitcoin is inherently traceable. If you know an entry point (exchange), you can trace a coin through the system to an exit point (casino). The exchange can then be subpoenaed to identify you. not with Tor.
