17821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ledger expects to sell 1 million hardware wallets this year on: June 11, 2017, 04:42:48 PM
That's got to be a highly exaggerated projection, unless that's a cumulative amount or it's agreements with merchants to stock them this year for the following years. How much bitcoin would you need to feel the urge to go out and buy a ledger? 1 or more? So there are a million people with 1 or more BTC? Nope!
17822  Economy / Economics / Re: Holdings of gold vs Holdings of btc on: June 11, 2017, 11:58:34 AM
I bought 4 ounces of gold coins since last summer and they didn't gain me a penny till now. In fact, If i sell them now I'll lose at least 100 bucks.

I am a gold fanboy I never denied it but if I had bought 4 bitcoins instead of 4 ounces of gold from any price since last year, I would have made 30-50k$ profit right now.

Very bad decision of mine.

Gold is seen as a reserve, a long-term asset that hedges against risk over years, if not decades. Don't worry about "losing" out. You haven't made any losses, you still have your gold. 4 ounces is not bad value today and it is highly unlikely that it will be bad value in 2,5 or 10 years.

As much as we all want Bitcoin to stay, we can't say the same for it right now.
17823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scary tweet I've just read! on: June 11, 2017, 09:57:37 AM
You'd think that industry experts are from a different cut of cloth. That we're not the same sort of people who believe Facebook Times and Whatsapp Tribune just because it's out there. At best it was an irresponsible tweet. At worst, it displays just the sort of common gullibility we don't want to believe industry experts share with the rest of us.
17824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Joca97 & Ajaxmoor's Big Challenge thread with a giveaway on: June 11, 2017, 09:08:41 AM
Spain should be a free-flowing scoring team, so yeah I'd expect at least 2 goals in from them. Macedonia might want to count this as a loss already so expect a hitback goal from them?

I'm in on a small bet for this tip!

17826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long will the big crypto rise last? What will happen to us after that? on: June 10, 2017, 10:53:49 PM
I hope historians and others are taking note here for the interest of posterity. We'll be able to read articles in the future which can analyse trends on price, market movement, events. But the sentiments here in this forum, the speculation on all those trollboxes. I wonder who will have the depth to analyse all of that?
17827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Joca97 & Ajaxmoor's Big Challenge thread with a giveaway on: June 10, 2017, 08:46:36 PM
Good call on Slovakia, Skrtel was a warrior!

This makes it 4 W 1 L, I'm up almost 50% on my starting bankroll for BetOpen. Might take a risk on next tip if I feel good about it. Keep it up, tipsters!

P.S. Looking forward to the analysis you indicated you would give alongside the tips in this thread=p
17828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New way and this works fine for me on: June 10, 2017, 08:33:30 PM
I have a similar system but I use a "higher-level" spreadsheet and don't do much micromanagement within the 2nd level. For me, Level 1 is the main gambling "portfolio" (Sports, casino, high-risk).

Then, I have a second-level deposit into a new account/site under each and record the date and amount. I commit this as an automatic loss. When it reaches 200%, I withdraw.

I don't keep the books within each 2nd level:)

It does work and it's a good way to discipline yourself. Gambling isn't an investment for me as much as it is entertainment.
17829  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: June 10, 2017, 08:25:27 PM
Small update here.
We have created ChipMixer plugin for Electrum. It allows you to tumble your bitcoins with us without leaving your wallet and it is even easier to use than website (prefill forms, creates new wallet and imports private keys for you).

You can check readme and screenshots here: https://github.com/chipmixer/electrum/tree/plugin/plugins/chipmixer
Pull request is pending, maybe it will get included in next version of Electrum.

If this is a small update, I'd expect to be blown away by a big one! This is excellent news (professed Electrum user here). Even if I'm unlikely to use the service much, having the option to use is one less reason to move away from Electrum. There are a number of other mixer plugins out there already, but none with chipmixer's side bet option.
17830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: WALLET.DAT or SEEDS - What is the safest on: June 10, 2017, 10:25:29 AM
I go with both, but would always choose SEED if I had to. The only issue I can foresee for storing seeds is that someone else who might come across it would easily notice that it's a seed. So I store mine in a pattern only I would recognise (I throw in some red herring for example or use it in a paragraph of text) and send it as emails to several addresses to keep.
17831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler's Fallacy (and you are committing it all the time) on: June 10, 2017, 09:30:47 AM
We all know this and commit it! I still throw down a x100 bet every now and then when I feel I haven't seen a hit in a long, long time. Even with sports I do the same, especially with high-ratio win teams like Bayern or Barca. When I see a x17 payout and it feels like the big teams are due a loss, I take it. Works out about 50/50 of the time  Grin
17832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 10, 2017, 08:25:04 AM
I received Payment: 14953362 bytes from the airdrop but didn't receive any black bytes. Is there any reason why no blackbytes came?  I bought BYTESA off Trex and also had my BTC wallet correctly added/linked to my wallet. I am thankful for the BYTES just wanted to know where are the blackbytes as it says 0 balance in  Smiley my blackbyte wallet. Also can anyone tell me how much my airdrop is worth? I can't calculate. I am holding them all though not selling. I want to just accumulate now.

1. Blackbytes usually arrive about a day after your byteballs come in.
2. You can do a rough estimation of your value by checking https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/byteball/. At the moment this means you have about 370,000 satoshi worth.
17833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Joca97 & Ajaxmoor's Big Challenge thread with a giveaway on: June 10, 2017, 08:15:26 AM
Oh, ye of little faith. I was pretty confident on the last tip, and it was worth a shot at such great odds. That makes it 3W 1L since I followed, bloody good job fellas! Glad I recovered the last loss with this one too!

And here's my next wager on your next tip. Keep it hot!

17834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What goods have you got from bitcoin results? on: June 09, 2017, 04:30:40 PM
Nothing directly bought in terms of goods for me. I earn rather than trade or buy, and I wouldn't count the fractions I've spent on sampling services... but I cashed out a few times as the price creeped past 2,000. Enough to buy me travel tickets and a few other expenses.
17835  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✪ BTC Battle - online game ✪ Faucet 150 000 satoshi/day + affiliate program on: June 09, 2017, 01:45:12 PM
Well, I must say the changes in 24 hours is quite impressive. Tried a game and there were 6 others on it... and about 20 other lurkers! Looks pretty neat the way it's going, now to see if people are getting smooth withdrawals.

Last version of the windows wallet?

Could anybody please answer the question?

Sorry for not replying. Posts tend to get lost here. You should really head on to the website, it's pretty clearly stated there. But to answer, latest Windows version is 1.9 available at this direct link on github:

17837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees on: June 09, 2017, 11:45:39 AM
its not just traffic.
its also that core removed alot of the fee controls and replaced them with mechanisms that actually push fee's up even if a few blocks have low demand

Actually, yeah, we've seen average fees and recommended fees rise with the mempool congestion but yesterday at just over 30,000 transactions, the recommended fee for a 4-hour confirmation guarantee was still above 200 sats/byte.

It's climbed down right now to 151 at 43k txs but it would appear that fees aren't going to return to what they used to be, even if the networks isn't clogged up anymore.

17838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CKS] Chicks | Current Supply @ 128,000 | PoS only @25% APR | masternodes? on: June 09, 2017, 09:02:59 AM
Ok i think we are gonna implement masternodes. Poll about that is positive.

We have around 130k coins, i think we implement 20 Masternodes, so every 6,5k a Masternode.
Reward and release date are the next step. First i need to work with the tech team together for the implementation.

pls patient Smiley

Good to see your update after a long time... the lot of us are very patient, don't worry! I would advise a bit more of a regular update, esp if Masternodes come into play.

Will you ever respond to some of my unanswered PMs or posts here though?

Apart from the uncharacteristic silence from OP/dev, the wallet seems to be working fine for me, just synced today after a week offline. Still earning small amounts for keeping my tab running - noticed that the payouts start from 0.1 BRO and up, so I guess we should see less bloat on the tx side.

I have BTC in the Poloniex.
Poloniex will receive my reward?

You won't be able to use your Poloniex address to link for byteballs. You must be in full control of your bitcoins, ie. you manage your own wallet and private keys. You see, the only way to link is to sign a verified msg from yr address (which you can't with Polo) or send a micropayment from your address (if you try this with Polo, you'll see that it will spend from a completely different address).

You can even check your address on Polo on blockchain.info. You'll find that all your deposits were transferred out into another address and the balance on your deposit address is 0.
