17841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Support is holding! on: April 13, 2015, 07:02:49 PM
Support is NOT holding at 235, now it's down to 220!!!

it's the usual umpteenth "trap dump" waiting for panic sellers to sell their bag, and then they cry and buy at higher price

support is still there, until the 200 wall is not broken
17842  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Beginner miner need advice please on: April 13, 2015, 06:28:14 PM
If I had the money I would like to set up a solar panel rig.

solar pannels need a very long time to roi, they need maintanance too and they have cost, they aren't free like many think

I wanted to know if investing in cloud mining at about 15th would be profitable in a year's time? or if not what hardware could I use as far as efficiency with lots of hashing power to start mining i'm estimating using maybe $6,500 if I were to buy hardware or go with cloud mining. Thanks for reading and all replies are welcome.

You can buy from this guy in China.  buy 1 to start

17843  Economy / Speculation / Re: the lack of volitility is worrying on: April 13, 2015, 03:38:50 PM
They market cap is really low ( around $3.3 bn)  rich and powerful people like mark zuckerberg or warren buffet could easily manipulate the market/price/volume in their favour. Bitcoin still needs to grow and definitely needs more time to be trusted by companies/people.

people are not satisfied with current price, they think the stability should've come with a 10k dollars value for each bit, they have some reason here, currently bitcoin is drastically undervalued

that's why you see so many complaints about current price
17844  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Beginner miner need advice please on: April 13, 2015, 03:29:27 PM
with cloud mining roi is 5 months, best one are now bit-x and hashnest because you can resell your power(don't know about hashnest), the only problem is that there is no enough volume for 6500 to be invested

with physical HW you need to buy s5 antimer, the on the market right now, or wait for the new model with a 1.45 more in efficiency(s6 and s7)

their are both equivalent, the main difference is the electricity cost for physical HW and its maintenance

17846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Accepting bitcoins in everyday transactions on: April 13, 2015, 03:16:33 PM
Here in my country, Brazil, bitcoins are not very well understand. Especially in the areas not economically developed.
They know about some people that became rich because of bitcoins and want give it a try, but companies that work with bitcoins here are not completely focused on that and i couldn't find a good help about accepting bitcoins in small business.

I know that bitcoins are great for online stores or any asynchronous store (pay now, receive some time later), but what about the stores that need to accept the money and return a product right away?

Lets say a business that have a line of people and the service is immediate, like a food truck or a supermarket.

How does you confirm the transaction? If the transaction have no confirmation it could be double spended and voided, if you wait for confirmation it could take up to 30 minutes for just one confirmation.
Doesn't ignoring confirmation create a potential flaw?

How can i make a receipt of a bitcoin transaction, i saw somewhere in this forum someone saying that tx are not the same as receipts but can't find that topic now, can someone explain?

this is true only for small amount, for big amount pending transaction are fine, many merchants are using those type of transaction for speed up their business

for now there is no way to speed up confirmation as it require an hard fork
17847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #BitcoinSurvey First Interim Report on: April 13, 2015, 03:07:45 PM
150 samples is a bit too small, to consider those % very important, but i like how there is still 37% of miners in the game(this mean that despite all mining is still one of the main form of investment after gambling), but i like to have a differentiation here between cloud mining and physical mining, it would be appreciated for the next survey
17848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2015, 02:38:23 PM
Bitcoin is just the first honest money on internet. In fact an honest money does not limited to bitcoin, as long as it is produced by inputting similar amount of value as its face value. From this regards, other coins could also have some value as their production cost

Universal acceptance is very important for money, from this regards, bitcoin has magnitudes wider acceptance than altcoins

production cost does not give something value.

why do you consider bitcoin the first honest money on the internet? what makes bitcoin honest?

the fact that is not controlled by banks/government, one could argue that it is controlled by whales instead, but it is always better than being in the hands of bank or gov

Bitcoin has been battered relentlessly since day one. The technical failures that occurred such as the hard fork and multi billion coin incident occurred while it was still small. Other coins might have similar vulnerabilities that wouldn't be uncovered until they had proper value. No doubt thousands of people have tried to crack it open and have failed.

bitcoin certainly has vulnerabilities to this day and it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to exploit these.

it seems that it take a certain effort, seeing as no one has exploited it since years
17849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2015, 02:17:04 PM
Bitcoins are limited to less than 21 million BTC. The value of each BTC, and therefore the value of all BTC combined is now in the billions.

If there are about 21 million BTC, and each one is worth $200 USD, then the market cap of the entire cryptocurrency is more than 4 billion USD.

why price it in USD? peronally i've never used USD.

because the usd is the biggest fiat currency? second place is for euro

it make sense to use as a primary conversion rate for bitcoin
17850  Other / Meta / Re: Why charge me? on: April 13, 2015, 01:58:41 PM
well the answer is there, you used tor(or a proxy with your modem) for your account, and that ip was using for bad things apparently

probably the ban is because you used the same ip to register two accounts, without paying for the first

17852  Economy / Speculation / Re: the lack of volitility is worrying on: April 13, 2015, 01:49:56 PM
bitcoin is more than 5 years old, it's about time that is less volatile now than before, besides this the manipulation was always present, but now there is only manipulation(i would say less than before) and no more "new" money
17853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2015, 01:40:15 PM
core dev team where so few as 5 completely control the code
OP does not understand how open source projects are developed.

Why bitcoin? That's easy, it's not an inflationary scamcoin like fiat. Nor is bitcoin backed by coercion and violence. No other currency with a 3bil+ market cap in the history of Earth can make that claim.

no its the core devs who don't.

thought bitcoins marketcap was 21 million?

market cap isn't the total numbers of bitcoin, but the toal value of the current coins in circulation

17854  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: In 2015, faucets are bad for bitcoin on: April 13, 2015, 01:39:13 PM
You have to think that with a faucet a newbie that does not know bitcoin can try to get some,to create a wallet a to make transactions

no newbies does not use faucets because they know faucets are not profitable

True but it's still a waste of time and newbs usually realize this eventually. They'd be far better off spending their time either trying to do small tasks in the real world for cash and then buy coins or even better joining a signature campaign here. Even a newb can earn more posting here than collecting from faucets and you soon move up rank. Get a higher account and you can earn some decent money eventually.

the role of faucets is for introducing only, there is no long term with them, they are good for introducing newbie to the bitcoin world, and they do this well, so no they aren't bad for bitcoin

there is basically a ladder to do for newbie with bitcoin, first you try faucets, then join a signature, and then you can start trading, and become good at it
17855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the cat did it [Karpeles found 650 000 BTC] on: April 13, 2015, 01:35:11 PM
Just a information: if 650k BTC that previously not in the market suddenly pushed into the market, then the price must drop by a lot!

unless they sold those off market, like someone intelligent would do, but it doesn't matter because this news is fake as hell
17856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2015, 01:32:37 PM
it still offer a valide alternative to someone who does not want to use fiat, and for who that has the need to use a currency that can be used as a global currency, without convert it everytime

and btw there is no centralization(you're still in control of your portfolio, not like with a bank, were they "rub" you for their secret investment) in bitcoin

the project is open to everyone while the mine aspect even if it seems decentralized you can still join the net and mine as a casual miner if you have cheap electricy, otherwise go with cloud
17857  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: desperately want bitcoin on: April 13, 2015, 01:12:15 PM
couldn't you just transfer it on your debit card and then proceed to circle or any other exchange, and buy bitcoin?

paypal is useless nowadays , debit card with security visa password and 2fa, offer enough security and there is no stupid chargeback to deal with
17858  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: April 13, 2015, 01:04:26 PM
if we can post gpu rig too, then this was mine, a year ago then i sold it, too bad it was a cool little rig

Why did you put them so close to each other? That's actually quite bad because of the airflow.
Mine were put at maximum distance that the riser cables allowed.

because they were 750ti, only 50 watt each, they don't need a large distance like amd card, and they weren't so hot btw

17860  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mining 1btc a month? on: April 13, 2015, 11:27:43 AM
Cloudmining is only porfitable for the aware lol if you know the company then go ahead but when it seems to good to be true it probably is Tongue

the problem with cloud is that there is no volume, so if you buy big amount(and you should if you want to make a serious return) then there is a chance that you could not resell it in the future

but besides this i find them better then buying physical miner, especially for those people that live in country with high electricity
