181  Economy / Goods / Re: Have you been buying goods with cryptocurrency? If so, where? on: January 19, 2018, 12:47:16 PM
The main purpose of cryptocurrency is to be able to purchase anything that is available in the virtual world. Despite the easy accessibility towards different website that allows cryptocurrency as a mode of payment, there are certain hindrances we experience with regards to its shipping and customs issues here in the Philippines which is why we would rather purchase using our fiat and on websites that serves locally. Hopefully someday, the Philippine market would start accepting cryptocurrency so we can maximize and stay true to its usage.
182  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-18] 5 Reasons why Januasy`s Price Slump is Nothing to Worry About on: January 19, 2018, 07:27:17 AM
I never thought that the Chinese Lunar New Year, might have an impact over the btc price.Perhaps millions of chinese people sold a part of their crypto savings in order to buy some gifts with fiat money. Grin
Cryptocurrencies are more consentrated in Asia, compared with the rest of the world. The biggest exchange platfroms are located there, most of the crypto mining is still located in China. This reduces the worldwide stability of the crypto industry.I wish that crypto mining and trading will be distributed equally among most of the countries worldwide, not in only one or two big countries.

I never thought that big occassions can also have an effect towards Bitcoin rate, davis196. It was only during the Christmas holidays when I first experience a solid dip from the rates reaching almost $20,000 and crashing as we near Christmas and New Year. Knowing the big role Asian countries play in the crypto world and how much they value occassions as such, its  surprising how it can greatly affect the market. But as the news state, there are many factors affecting the growth of Bitcoin and at this season, it can be considered a natural occurence for Bitcoin to experience a decline. We should know this as it has been proven consistent over time.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news The market began to rise and return !!! on: January 19, 2018, 03:43:42 AM
As the famous saying goes, "there's a rainbow always after the rain". It's so refreshing to see the green marks after seeing the red sea for the past few days. This is a good sign as we know that Bitcoin is on its way to its recovery. The decline of Bitcoin paved way for opportunity to buy more Bitcoin in the lowest price possible. Some people panicked as they thought it was the "bursted" stage of what they thought of as a bubble. As Bitcoin is gradually improving, we know that its recovery is nearing and maybe a potential peak sooner or later.
184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dip over? on: January 18, 2018, 02:56:02 PM
Do you think we've seen the worst of this dip for now?
Bitfinex cryptowatch shows the lowest deal on BTC for this time was 9,231$ which was just about a Fibonacci retracement (almost on point). I am not using TA normally, but I am considering it when thinking about the market. For now, it looks like the worst is over. This dip might be a healthy thing for the market, and CAN be the catalyst for another run-up.
What is your take on the situation?

I wont rejoice too soon that the dip is over because the same show of event happen sometimes last week or thereabout when the price rose from the $13000 region to go about $15,000 at that point everyone would think the coast is clear and static scenario has been broken finally but few days after that, we faced a massive dip in which no one could have imagined its going to happen.

Rather I would say we are gradually moving to the green position and this point is even a more fragile position because at this point if we face any crash in price, it will go below what it went yesterday which would even be more drastic. What is needed is a gradual increase in price to a point where we can conveniently say the dip is over.

I couldn't agree more with audaciousbeing. Everything she said is true, it is still too early to tell that we have surpassed the decline despite seeing the green marks. We can see improvements though which is a good sign, however we should see a consistent trend (despite the volatility) over time before we can confirm the dip is finally over. Maybe we can give it a few more days. Let's keep observing and hoping for the best. In the mean time, let's maximize the opportunity and do what's best of the situation.
185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hey guys do you think that Bitcoin price will continue decreasing ? on: January 18, 2018, 01:21:20 PM
As we enter the new year with the Bitcoin rates playing at the range of $13,000, it will hopefully start rising as we surpass early January. I really think that the holidays had a drastic effect towards the rates of Bitcoin. As it ends, let us all hope that the trends start to change as well and it will rise to another remarkable rate. WE just have to remember that with it decline, our faith towards it should be stronger and not do impulsive actions that we might regret.

I don't see the connection between holidays and Bitcoin's price decrease. All the other altcoins seem to be surging forward, in spite of the holiday season. So the argument that bullish traders are holding out / cashing out before the holiday season doesn't seem to be consistent. If that were the case, there should have been an overall decline in most altcoins as well.

Yup, I do get your point jjacob. Maybe the holidays really did not affect the decline, or maybe it really did. We can never truly confirm it as there are many factors affecting its growth. It was just my opinion as I know a lot of people who would sold their Bitcoins over the holidays to buy gifts and even prepare for a celebration. Where I come from, Christmas and the New Years are always grand and people tend to be very generous at those times. Since Bitcoin cannot be used here for purchasing purposes, they would have it converted to cash in lieu of the season. Another thing is that when you speak of cryptocurrency here, Bitcoin is what always comes to mind. It's one of the most flexible and diversely known cryptocurrency which is why I guess it was the most affected one.
186  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-17] Get ‘Em While They’re Cheap? Two-Day Crypto Market Slump Offers ... on: January 18, 2018, 06:41:37 AM
There's just something about the second week of January huh? Either way and for whatever reason, we should know that this is not the "bursted" state of Bitcoin if you would like to refer to it as a bubble. I stand with the many in believing that Bitcoin is not a bubble but knowing that its low rates are due to contributing factors affecting its supply and demand. As we can see although not properly sources, Bitcoin follows a trend during this time of the year. This time is also the best opportunity for people to invest more on Bitcoin for as soon as it recovers, it can multiply your investments in ways you wouldn'expect.
187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices not rising! should we trade or hold? on: January 18, 2018, 02:05:10 AM
If you truly believe in Bitcoin, you would know the answer to this question right away and that is to hold. It is true that the rates aren't improving so if you trade it, you'll be the one at lost for you wouldn't have your money's worth. There are many factors affecting its decline, once these are resolved Bitcoin would finally recover and be back on track. Just give it some time, maybe a few more months until it can fully recover. What I can advise you now is just think of how much more you'll lose of you trade right now. It's just not worth it. Just be patient and hold on to your Bitcoin as this will be more beneficial after some time.
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! on: January 17, 2018, 10:33:18 AM
What you have to understand is that when dealing with Bitcoin, you are also dealing with uncertainty and volatility. I guess that's what you're pertaining to with Bitcoin being "manipulative". If this this is what you think Bitcoin is about and its handling should be done as such, then I'll respect it. Just do know that we all have our own strategies and beliefs on how we would like to trade and manage our Bitcoins.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN - ICO] EBCoin: The Best Gift For Travelers on: January 17, 2018, 07:44:02 AM
It's nice...

These days, too many ICOs are overrated and they are seems to be dreamers. But I think EBcoin is slightly different!

They certainly proceed ICO in different ways.

That's true Gerrard Yang! ICOs nowadays seems to be similar with one another, they just have different strategies in selling and advertising their projects. I am so excited with EBCoin!! Traveling is what my family does often and as I noticed, we always have trouble in redeeming our tax refund as it takes a lot of processes and time which can be used for touring or bonding abroad. I had an experience where they wouldn't allow me to get my tax refund right away just because my credit card wasn't Visa. We had to be at the airport early on the day we left since the lines for the refund were extremely long. Through EBCoin this complications can be resolved and shopping abroad would be a lot easier. I am so happy I get to promote a project that I truly know lives by efficiency and transparency!
190  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-1-16] Crypto Market Suffers From Uncertainty in Asia, Losses Up to 40% on: January 17, 2018, 06:32:49 AM
Another unreliable news site well of course the news in South Korea banning all exchanges has been clarified a few days ago and still they are saying that South Korea has a big part in the correction. They must also add that their cryptocurrency market is separate from the global market, what its only contributing is misinformation of news. With the prices going down then for surely the reason will be because of investors pulling out their money from the market.

Theb has a point it's true that a situation affects a certain market however South Korea is also a contributor to the global market. What we have to take note of is that the current decline is not SOLELY based on the happenings in South Korea alone. As Theb said, the downfall of the market is due to the fact that investors are pulling out their money and as we all know Chinese New Year is a big event in Asia. As the Chinese New Year approaches, more people are preparing for this events and this may be a reason why the rates of Bitcoin are plummeting.
191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it time to buy some BTC? on: January 17, 2018, 02:56:47 AM
It is evident that some of the factors that may have lead to the decline of Bitcoin may involve the issues that's taking place in South Korea with regards to the handling of Bitcoin and maybe the upcoming Chinese New Year. Rates made a steep downfall over the past few hours from $14,000 down to $11,000. At this point, I guess we should maximize the opportunity rather than focusing on what we lost. I feel like Bitcoin will still have a lower rate of reaching about $8,000-$10,000 in value. When those rates are reached, that's when I'll buy to gain more Bitcoins so that when it recovers after some time, I will gain and even multiply the value of what I lost during the correction.

193  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN rate plummets Discussion!! on: January 16, 2018, 02:00:20 PM
I am not so sure if the real reason of its decline is really the banning in South Korea, but nonetheless we've all been to the same situation and hopefully we all know how to handle this correction. It can be quite alarming since the rate range jumped from $14,000 to $11,000 but fear not. One thing we should always take note of is that Bitcoin always comes through. Just give it a little more time to recover and things will be back on track.
194  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 16, 2018, 10:06:10 AM
The first answer that came to mind when I saw the title of this thread is of course they do. I believe that everything that is owned or possesed by a certai person is well deserved because I know that somehow they were able to receive such due to their hard work. With regards to the responsibility of that person, socially and economically, they do have to be aware that they have to commit to such responsibilities. As a citizen who earns millions, you should learn how to declare what you have and pay the right taxes as this is your duty as a citizen. On the other hand, you also have a social responsibility to provide for those who are less fortunate because little do you know, it is also an obligation.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people sell bitcoins? on: January 16, 2018, 05:09:41 AM
Although it defeats the purpose of cryptocurrency which should be used as it is and not sold anymore for fiat, I do believe that people would sell or have their Bitcoin converted to fiat due to the fact that the availability of outlets where Bitcoin can be used in their area is bery minimal. Here in the Philippines, the knowledge towards cryptocurrency is not yet appropriately established which is why Bitcoin does not have any value. For Bitcoin to be used to supply our needs, we need to have it converted.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why people keep trying new casinos? on: January 15, 2018, 10:50:35 AM
A lot of threads in gambling section are basically dedicated to scam accusations. They can be seen every day on the first page. The casinos about which people complain are usually new or known to be scamming people (one can easily check out the trust of members leading the respective ann threads to be assured in that). I don't understand why people deposit money onto new casinos and then complain that they scammed these people. I mean, there are lots of very trusted casinos offering a wide range of games, so why not to keep playing at them rather than some unknown risky ones?

I do appreciate your concern with other people being impulsive and unaware in trying new casinos but you should also take note that when gambling, you should be aware of where you're bringing your money. I guess despite the prevalence of threads about scams, people still tend to try other casinos just simply because they want a new atmosphere. They want to try their luck in other platforms and I think that's okay. If they get scammed, then it's their fault as they didn't do their part of researching and trusting right away.
197  Economy / Economics / Re: People are extremely biased towards bitcoin. on: January 14, 2018, 11:16:20 AM
I do believe that some of the people here tend to be bias toeards Bitcoin, but I do understand their part somehow. We know how much people would favor it during its high times. What they don't know is that during the peak, people tend to use Bitcoin inappropriately affecting its growth and changing its patter, to which people would not like. What's even worse is that the transaction rates are out of this world. People should understand that these situations are also a result of their actions. I guess what I  really trying to say is that people would have opinions but what matters most is what you think and how you handle your Bitcoin.
198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rise, Fall, steady, why Bitcoin is solid at $14,000 ish right now in my opinion on: January 14, 2018, 05:04:09 AM
When Bitcoin reached almost $20,000, everybody was ecstatic and they felt like their investment exponentially multiplied to which the people favored the rate. I think this lead to improper usage of Bitcoin which affected its growth over time. It also raised the expectation of people which is why a rate of $14,000 does not seem to impress them any further. I think with the movement of Bitcoin over the past few days, $14,000 is good and ample. It's not too high to buy and it's not too low to affect what we have. I guess in this platform we should really just be patient and maximize the situation at hand rather than waiting for something to please us.

200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: January 13, 2018, 07:32:45 AM
If someone which follows the set of rules and be discipline enoff. Can people make 50-100 $ a day just gambling in online casino.....?
Anything is possible...so yes, it can.

But statistically...the chances, that it won't is probably much much bigger and probable.

I love how Tschai looked into both sides of the  answers to this question, but for me the answer can be quite tricky. I really do believe that gambling is a game of chance and luck, so with that you can easily state that it cannot be profitable in the long term since chance and luck doesn't really work with assurance. I don't know how gambling can give you assured profits every time you play since you don't know the outcome of the game until you're actually playing. On the other hand, as Tschai said anything is possible so I guess if you invest your winnings through different business or investment ventures then that's how, in some way, gambling can be profitable in the long run.
