Also to be included into the app. Merchant and Customer rating system.
Haven't considered how to add a new role of Escrow. Maybe this is open as a specific type of store added to the system
183  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN][WHITEPAPER] Distributed Trading Application using Bitcoin block chain on: December 18, 2013, 05:22:56 PM
Distributed Trading Application using Bitcoin block chain using a cryptographically verifiable distributed database.

Summary:  Creation of a simple peer-to-peer app using a trading protocol to enable to creation of merchant/customer system that piggybacks on the Bitcoin block chain using a cryptographically verifiable distributed database.

Application consist of 3 parts:
1. Heartbeat - Internal messaging system - 2-4 addresses that the app knows the private key to to send dust transactions with encoded text into the block chain.
2. Customer interface -  Customer Role has a public and private pgp key used for signing bid/ask request in the system.
3. Merchant Interface - Merchant Role has a public and private pgp key used in responding to bid/ask request in the system.

Application Workflow:

1. Program loads.
2. Person selects role they will be using the program for in the current session:
   a. Browse stores -
      1. Displays a list of stores showing in the app address space which includes the public signing key for each store.
      2. When you enter a store it list the current items for sale at that store. If you click on bid for the item a encoded message is sent by the app to the BTC block chain to the addresses controlled by the app.
      3. App reviews new transactions to the block chain to check for pgp encoded messages to your public key.
      4. If encoded message is a purchase the BTC address for funding is provided and the app waits for confirms on the BTC block chain for that transaction.
   b. Merchant mode.
      1. Create store. Assigned PGP public/private keys. Assign store name.
      2. Create inventory.
      3. Check orders
         a. App checks App addresses for transactions that are related to the the specific store public key.
         b. App displays the store interface to accept a bid, cancel a bid, send a message.
         c. App automatically checks the block chain for required number of confirms to the address specified in the order and notifies the merchant that shipping can be sent.

3. Account settings allows to the attachment of a BTC address ownership that is added to the program based on a signed verification of ownership.
4. Program heartbeat. Checks Bitcoin block chain for transactions sent between the addresses owned by the app. Checks text on transaction to see if this is a transaction related to the current user of the system.
   a. Encrypted message for current user of program. Message decoded and displayed. If accepted the message is encoded with the public key of the Merchant and sent signing with the key of the user.
   b. Communication can only be decoded by the person sending and receiving the message. Each Merchant shares the public pgp key. Each customer signs with the key.   Same way PGP emails work.
   c. Text is encoded by app and sent to the BTC block chain with by a dust transaction to the addresses owned by the app. App only sends dust back and forth and never truly spends any BTC. Confirms are not needed as long as the transaction is encoded into the block chain.

Still have lots to work out. The idea seems simple. This will be released as an Android app distributed as a unknown source apk with full source on github. Custom builds of the app would require the private keys to be set for the APP addresses used for the heartbeat, otherwise each instance of the custom build would be on their own fork.

This idea seems simple at first look.  PGP used to store a distributed database on the block chain specific to addresses.

If you would like to donate to this project to help as incentive for brighter minds then mine, feel free.

If you have useful feedback or caveats that you think we have missed please let me know.

This is not specifically an alt, but deals with some of the things that mastercoin is proposing.  This is my own solution that does not require an exit address for the blockchain. Please read it over and provide feedback. If you would like to take part please let me know.
This program will be released into the wild when done and all ownership of the specific forks will be based on the encoding addresses used in the apk build.

Please forgive the brain dump. This is an idea I have been thinking about for sometime to determine the flaws.

One of the issues I was thinking about was history. If a store is shutdown and the private key of that store is found, the entire purchase history is known so previous transactions would be able to be read.  This might compromise private data, this might be resolved with the creation of a new PGP key for each day. I will be thinking on this point more.

ban on hookers and blow removed. Some of these stories are downright sad.

::stands on soapbox::::
Please. Only invest into crypto what you are willing to lose. If you can't take the money and burn it up without crying, get it out of here.
If you have fiat debt, deal with that before risking everything on crypto penny stock.
Crypto is still an experiment. This entire fantasy could go poof.

Let me get the software/builds sorted out and up first, then I'll take care of the rest... There were a fair bit of folks who started mining, and I don't want them to lose their work either, so maybe a huge giveaway is the way to go.

And it dies
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CENT] - Promo - Win 100,000,000 CENT on: December 13, 2013, 08:34:58 PM
The rain pelted the idled construction equipment; each drop falling on the hood of one of the excavators made a distinctive 'plink' when it struck. It was an inauspicious start to the project.

I took a deep breath and surveyed my surroundings one last time before the speeches were due to start. The construction equipment ringed the patch of dirt upon which the stage had been hastily constructed. One corner of the stage was already starting to sink into the mud. A few hundred reporters were gathered in front, sipping coffee and checking their cell phones.

It all seemed so unreal. I wondered (not for the first time) if I was hallucinating, strapped to a bed in an insane asylum. It had seemed invincible, right before it's fall. Bitcoin had reached unimaginable heights, hitting $100, then $1000, and even $10000 at it's height. Then came the hack. Someone, somewhere had figured out an exploitable vulnerability, and Bitcoin was wiped out, virtually overnight. The hackers had made their money in a carefully co-ordinated attack, counterfeiting enormous amounts of the coin and trading them for cash, escaping with the loot before anyone knew anything was wrong. They made millions, and destroyed billions. The life savings of countless people disappeared overnight.

The other altcoins were similarly vulnerable, and other surprise attacks followed the first. Just as the altcoins had followed Bitcoin into life, they also followed it into death. And so the money fled to one coin that remained safe; the last major altcoin that was not vulnerable to the attack. The coin who's unique feature, indivisibility, rendered it immune to the plague that had swept across the cryptocurrency landscape. The coin which, coincidentally, was mostly owned by one person: myself.

Which was the reason for the press conference, of course. So that I could announce to the world my plans for my new-found wealth. With great power comes great responsibility, and I was determined to re-make civilization to be sustainable, just and fair, for centuries to come. The golden age of humanity began with a single ceremonial shovel-full of dirt. The century of the CENT!

Are multiple submissions ok? Cheesy

Sadly, only one entry will be counted per username/cent address.   Nothing stopping you from loading up some socks cept karma is a bitch.

bump to get more entries. Remember stories need to be 50 words or more, I might even hand out some extra for esp entertaining ones.
Geek out.

i think dividing total supply by up to a billion, re-introducing decimals and then limiting stake will reign this coin in.

Approximately how many CENT currently in circulation?

4.88 trillion
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About 85% of the givaways don't pay. on: December 12, 2013, 04:26:01 PM
Sometimes when running a promo you have to be clear on the end date.  Updating the title with [CLOSED] is a good practice, or locking the thread. Had a few post to some ZET giveaways I did and they posted way after the thread was done.
Posting your address to a thread that was completed will not get you freebies.

Upon waking up one morning and checking my email, I noticed that my Uncle Bob had recently sent me a message.

Qrne Obo We.
Gur PRAG ner tbvat gb gur ZBBA! Zl pbqr vf 271943. Bayvar inhyg 64, 192.168.13.13
Ybir,
Hapyr Obo

Being that he was a bit looney and would encode all of his messages with various cyphers, I loaded up the decrypt tool and figured out the message. .  With the key in hand I headed over to my Uncles online safe and inside discovered a private key to an online wallet. Loading the wallet I discovered a balance of 4.4 Trillion CENT. It had been some time since I had looked at the alt-coin CENT, so I saw that the current POS problems were fixed and the max money was floating at 8 Trillion with a value of just under 1 XPM.  With a gasp I thought of all the good I could do in the world with this new found wealth.
Encrypting the new wallet, I sent the coins over to crypto exchange and cashed in a few trillion so as not to flood the market. Then I headed over to the shady district and bought some hookers and blow.  Eventually dying from blindness and heart attack from too much Viagra.

194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [CENT] - Promo - Win 100,000,000 CENT on: December 11, 2013, 08:14:28 PM
Since CENT will be either dead or risen by the end of the month. I figured we could have a promo.

Post a CENT address here with a short story on "What would you do with 4.4 trillion CENTS"  - Keep the hookers and blow to a  min.

A min word count 50 to be included.

1 Winner will be chosen randomly from full list of entries after Jan 1.

- Enjoy

Disclaimer: If CENT dev adjust decimal of CENT to combat coin supply before promo ends the prize will be adjusted to match. ( i.e. 1,000,000 becomes 1,000 etc)
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CENT pennies coin on: December 11, 2013, 08:01:46 PM
This is such a weird coin. Price on Bter is 7x price on Cryptsy. An incredible opportunity for arbers (if Bter actually allowed deposits in CENTs  Wink )

bter is blocking CENT deposits.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CENT pennies coin on: December 11, 2013, 07:54:07 PM
4.44 trillion cent atm.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Quick confirmations on: December 11, 2013, 12:28:01 AM
Go go ZET!
PSA: Please ask someone that reads Chinese to translate the btc38 notice.
Keep in mind that we are close to 160 million ZET in circulation.  Still a few bag holders :-)~
Please only invest into alt coins what you can lose. ZET today, gone tomorrow.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: December 10, 2013, 08:08:06 PM
Please excuse my ignorance but is (Pennies) and (Cent)
 the same coin?

BTC is for Bitcoin, so is CENT for Pennies?

Correct. CENT = Pennies alt coin

So lets talk about the 100 trillion coin cap.  CENTS is currently at 3 trillion and is struggling to hold value. How do you think this coin will do as the coin cap gets up there. What are your plans to manage the inflation.
I am all for new experiments in crypto, but not sure what this one  is truly adding. If you are truly making a country..how is that going? How are the lemmings?  What plans have been acted upon?   At least Franko folks are paying a bunch of youtuber's to read a script and post that they swear allegiance, such a joke.
So, Great and Powerful Ruler, what say you?
