Nice list youv got there. All of them solid projects. The only thing is ,what kind of profit you are after? Most of this coins a very high market cap,so i doubt it will be x20+.maybe x5 due btc dipping since new year

I will be happy with x3 (portfolio average) and x5 will be awesome.  I don't really dream of x20, if it comes, that is great but I am a realist. I've had some coins that did and a few on this list might (from lowest purchase amount).
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My recent alt purchase... on: April 03, 2018, 08:51:41 PM
My stupid advice is not to buy any alts any more in this not-her-not-there market. Just keep your baskets as diversified as they are. And then keep adding on to the big coins. Bitcoin. Ethereum (I do not like it but there you go). Litecoin. Everything is too risky now. Floors look like floors until new floors are found in basements we never thought would exist again. You buy more alts and you "sell" Bitcoin too, so it is a double edged sword, is it not?

I am in the opposite side, I believe in newer good alts more than the "big" coins.

Re: bottom, yep...no one can really tell where it is so we go with our gut.  Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.  Such is life.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My recent alt purchase... on: April 03, 2018, 08:49:03 PM
Given the "cheap" BTC price, I went in and bought some last night and re-invested it by buying the following alts...

ICX
VEN
NEO
RPX
QTUM
REQ
NANO

I already hold these before (out of my 24 coins) and just strengthened my position on them.  These coins represent 7 of my top 8 holding and chosen for (both short and long term) growth potential.  I believe these will outperform BTC or ETH growth wise but I could be mistaken.

Critique welcome.
And the ripple does not bother you, what can one say here that everyone buys in their capabilities. You have both promising coins, the same neo and nano and quite cloudy with an incomprehensible future. Well, let's see who will be in the bull market a new diamond.

I am confused.  Ripple is XRP...I got RPX. Wink
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spring cleaning my portfolio--can you help? on: April 03, 2018, 08:46:00 PM
Definitely get rid of telcoin and appcoin.

Telcoin doesn't really have any major exchanges apart from Kucoin and the volume is low for a coin its market cap size. When it comes to liquidating it'll be hard and prices may go down due to a lack of exchange to trade on.

APPC doesn't seem to be getting any attention and is rank >200 which is hard to get attention in the first place.

Oyster could go as well, since it's got such a huge pump. If you bought early you could definitely take some profits now as well on PRL.

I am way ahead on PRL and I am waiting for the SHL airdrop (in 3 days).  I'll decide then if I'll keep it or not.

I am negative on both TEL and APPC but I decided to wait and see.  I still believe both will at least rebound to much better heights that they are now.

Thanks.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spring cleaning my portfolio--can you help? on: April 03, 2018, 08:37:22 PM
Among all your list i am more or less sure only in Tel. In general, a very strange selection of coins, on the basis of what you make a decision?

These are my "gamble" investments.  Every now and then, I throw a couple hundred bucks on new coins/tokens that may or may not make it big.  These are the least promising out of my (now) 38 coins that will be swapped with newer coins.  As weird as that may sound, the strategy works for me.

They represent a tiny portion of my portfolio.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are Market cap and Circulating supply valuable indicators? on: April 03, 2018, 06:24:32 PM
Its easy mathematics. Low marketcap means coin is actually very cheap and it has long road ahead. Supply means how rare coin is. Rarity affects prices so much like rare thing always worth higher, harder than regular.

THIS ^^^

While the advise is correct (in the OP), they are also very simplistic.  There are many other factors that need to be considered in choosing where to invest.  The project, the team, marketing, etc.  But the best indicator for me is the market acceptance/support and the one that reflects that is; constant high 24hr volume Wink

Note that Pump & Dump usually show a sudden surge in 24hr volume...avoid those.

Icon is what Neo was @ 10 dollar, Buy it while it's still cheap

I agree, that is why I am very bullish with ICX and it represents the biggest portion of my portfolio. Smiley
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ontology> platforms of platforms on: April 02, 2018, 09:06:41 PM
Can't resist it at sub $2.00 so I bought a little bit with some low ball buy order...in case it dips down further. Cheesy
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market stabilized? on: April 02, 2018, 04:18:33 PM
Technically, most crypto investors do not want a stable market...because it may mean a steady 2-5% rise in value PER ANNUM only!  Tongue

No rocket to the moon, no lambo, etc. in that scenario. Smiley

Where is my Lambo? I bought such a strong correction. Now, should I expect my Lambo red by the end of the year, do you think? I hope the market will reverse, it's been too long!  Smiley

I dunno...I don't even know where mine is. Cheesy

I am afraid, recovery won't be super fast but my wish is that by late this year, we will be close to the Dec 17 - Jan 18 highs again.  I'd be honest that I am not very optimistic as it may take longer to reach those again.

191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market stabilized? on: April 02, 2018, 04:06:13 PM
As with most posts, the confusion stems from terminologies that everyone has their own different meaning or interpretation. Smiley

To me the market is stable enough in the sense that I believe it is not going to drop much more (if ever) and the likelihood of positive change is more than the negative.

I already bought/invested more alts as a testament to that belief. Smiley
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: VeChain, still super undervalued on: April 02, 2018, 02:46:23 PM
I dont think so Vechain just need more time to grow like other token/Coin in the Market it needs time to appreciate by the investors and the market forces and drivers just dont push to much VeChain is valued today according to the demand in the market so thats not undervalue its the market dictates nothing more nothing less.

While you are correct that everything is valued depending on what the market says it is...the statement is based on projection where VEN is likely to be.  It is a forecast so it is not certain, but I agree with it based on my own research.

Put another way, the message is.... it has good growth potential and is a good coin to invest on right now. Wink
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEX ICO on: April 02, 2018, 11:43:32 AM
Ok, so I ve been selected to participate in the NEX ICO.
Now, as you may know due to market conditions NEO is lower than 50$ (which is a steal imo).
So the question is:
Would you invest the full 1k in NEX or split some of that money into (more)  NEO. ICO seems to be very popular(given City of zion is behind it and their relation to the NEO project)  and they re looking to raise "just" 25m which for a 2018 ICO is really nothing so given the hard cap of 1k$ per person to invest I could see why this could be worth much more in the future.

Congrats!

Use the $1K now and buy NEO, then use NEO when the ICO is on...buying as much NEX as you are allowed.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we repeating the 2014 BTC crash??? on: April 01, 2018, 06:04:18 PM
There is no a lot of difference between correction and crash, but that's only different from the phrase of the word.

It doesn't matter how people called it as. But we are at another downtrend again. The bottom will be appearing as soon as possible; It takes a short time to get another bump still after that.

There is a lot of tax news to the crypto right now.

Crash is crushed to no value, such a definition can not be summed up into a crypto market that should not be equated with another, this is only a correction of market demand still exists and not distracted by the news. In 2014 there is a kind of burglary that causes losses in a market causing problems of decline, dont look at the year in the market chart statistics but look thoroughly at what's going on at the moment cheers.

While I know crypto is different from stocks, the stocks description of crash is a dip of more than 20%, correction is less than 20%.

I'd say similar applies to crypto though the % threshold may be a bit higher.  To me losing more than 65% is  a crash and people who say it is just a correction is/are in denial.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2Q 2018 Best Altcoin Contest! on: April 01, 2018, 02:24:15 AM
Good point, I like that idea. Post ticker symbols only and I will take a snapshot on April 15th

April 1st (tomorrow), the start of the quarter is IMHO, the best time to take the snapshot.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2Q 2018 Best Altcoin Contest! on: April 01, 2018, 01:57:11 AM
ICX, VEN, NEO, ARK, QTUM, LSK, REQ, NAN0, WAN, AION
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2Q 2018 Best Altcoin Contest! on: April 01, 2018, 12:59:46 AM
To be fair, you should take  a snap shot of all the coins at coinmarketcap (very easy to do)...this way everything is on same starting point.  You should know that prices can drastically change in minutes...more so in days or weeks.

Let people enter their vote but you use the value on your sheet.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 50'000 USD to invest NOW on: March 31, 2018, 12:57:58 PM
Invest in Bitcoin would be better option then to invest in other crypto . might be next week bitcoin could move toward to bullish and it will have great profit !

Happy Trading
Thanks
Regrads

It really depends on how BTC price rises, if it is abrupt, people tend to panic and sell their alts, sending those to go down.  However, if the BTC growth is "organic" alts tend to out perform BTC specially during the initial pump.

There are opportunities there to maximize profit if you want to play it that way.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEX on: March 31, 2018, 12:51:48 AM
I am very interested but decided not to join because to create and account of the NEX chrome extension,  I need to use my NEO wallet password (not just the public address).

I just don't trust anyone or any company enough to share those info.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: US Tech Company Intel Files Patent To crypto mining Energy Use on: March 31, 2018, 12:45:44 AM
Patents don't work with Bitcoin, I don't like the idea of patents at all specially in this context. What Intel should do is get their shit together and start competing in the mining game with their own devices. I wonder what the hell are the waiting for. Im 100% sure it will eventually happen, they are just watching each other (Intel is waiting for AMD, nVidia etc to make a move, same for the rest). It just takes one of them and the rest will start getting nervous and not taking part, then it will start escalating very quickly. Monopolies don't last forever and Bitmain has had his time for almost a decade, by 2021 or so I predict big new things in mining.

Believe it or not, it helps.  Each drop accumulates.

Re: new mining hardware, Japan entered the arena for a while now and will make Bitmain obsolete soon (comparatively inefficient).

https://news.bitcoin.com/japanese-internet-giant-gmo-launches-mining-business/

It takes time, but they are building the infrastructure to make BTC much more stable and less dependent on China farms.
