It all depends on how many chips you bought though.  If you have 200 chips, you'll roi faster than 16 chips.

LOL

182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 31, 2013, 12:17:45 AM

Edit: Just looked at the data sheet and that information is there. Last 6 character's are YYWW2C So the it's 2013 week 23.

Yes, that is correct. I also just looked it up. Sorry about the 'week 32' misinformation.

Wonder why they were sitting around for 12 weeks.    The story would make a great movie.  Mafia, Customs bribes, assassins, and thieves.    ;-)
183  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: August 30, 2013, 07:17:12 PM
Hey Dave,

I know you are busy and I hate to bother you. I'm just dying to know if the M-boards made it there today. Thanks.

I Am hoping he doesn't answer, thinking he is busy testing and shipping to check the forums  ;-)
184  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: August 29, 2013, 06:48:35 PM

I think a lot of people thought they would have a lot of things by now... I was sure I'd bet on the right horse for such a long time, which makes it an even more bitter pill to swallow to only now discover that the people I've been defending all this time have, in fact, screwed me. Sad

I hear Ya.  The more I think about the future for me, Its heading out of owning mining equipment, and more investing into cloud mining ventures like LRM.   GPU , FPGA, ASIC mining was fun while it lasted, but the future is not there.
After this current clusterfuck with Bitsyncom, sadly, it has made my decision for me.

Cheers.
185  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: August 29, 2013, 06:13:06 PM
Yeah, sucks for me.  Great for LRM.  ;-)    I want to increase my LRM position, but I was counting on my TH and Klondike boards to be operational by now.
Might have to cash-in MtGox play money to buy some more.   Cry

Go GO LRM

I am amazed that people who went into these group buys knowing the possibility of delays and increasing difficulty now want refunds. You made your decision to do a group buy and now because of late chip deliveries people want to bail. Accept the fact that you made a choice and it didn't work out. Take delivery of your chips when they arrive and have them assembled. Follow thru on your plan and then mine or sell. Don't try and make Steamboat the bad guy.

Did you see Steamboats post?   He offered  the chip refunds to buyers as an option.  No way am I holding him responsible for the Avalon cluster Fuck.  If there is a way I can salvage a few $K, I am going to take it. Strictly business.

Quote
Chip Refunds:
The Avalon website clearly states in their “no BS” terms of sale there are no refunds for Batch purchases. Yifu has since stated he will be making a refund form for chip purchases (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=269950.msg3030839#msg3030839).  Whether he will, when the refund option will be available, and when the refund will be processed is unknown. In the event Yifu and Bitsyncom do allow refunds, we will facilitate this process for all those willing to do so. We have tentatively drafted the following, which will be finalized and updated upon confirmation of this option from Yifu and Bitsyncom.

All those requesting a chip refund will be allowed to do so, so long as there are enough requests to fulfill an entire batch. We will not force anyone to accept a refund.

Refunds of batches will be requested from Yifu and Bitsyncom beginning with the last batch, and continue to the first so long as refund requests fill an entire batch.

Customers in a batch which has been refunded will be placed in an earlier batch according to their position in that batch’s order, and their position relative to other batches. All purchases will be kept in their original order, and the order book truncated to reflect the refunded purchases.

Once a refund request has been placed with us, and the refund request submitted to Yifu and Bitsyncom, it is final. There will be no option to receive the chips originally ordered for any reason once the process has begun.

Chip purchase refunds will be dispersed upon receipt of the refund from Yifu and Bitsyncom. We will supply any administrative paperwork necessary and do what we can to facilitate the refund, but we are not responsible for any delays outside of our control, which include delayed receipt of the refund from Yifu and Bitsyncom, and will not disperse refunds prior to receipt of the funds from Yifu and Bitsyncom.

We will post an update and send an email to everyone who has purchased chips with additional information and instructions once we have received confirmation of the refund option.
187  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 29, 2013, 04:08:49 PM
Well the problem with a refund is that steam boat is going to be out of pocket for a lot of circuit board parts. I don't know how many parts he purchased in advance but it's going to be a fair bit so who's going to foot the bill on that?

Yes I understand that.  But since I am batch 6 assembly, has he even bought parts for assembly for boards in that batch yet?    In any case, I would be happy for even  a partial credit towards any new boards that may use BitFury or other asics if they decide on a plan B.  Just trying to minimize my losses.  ;-)

Cheers!

188  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: August 29, 2013, 02:54:21 PM
As things stand now,  I would take the refund option on my batch 6 chips.  The assembly that I paid for is another issue.  What about that payment?  Partial refund?

I am disappointed in the way this is turning out.    Sad

It is a bit disheartening to see the bitcoin mining taken over by large ventures.  Not much room in the future for the hobbyist miner to make some coin.
This is worrying to have governments subsidizing or backing the bitcoin ventures.

However, the spokesperson says that Massive Luck owns and controls all of that power, promising that the Chinese government won’t be able to begin manipulating the market with it.

^ Yeah Right.  That government has a history of taking what they want. Tongue

About to make the plunge into the ASIC market.  Lots of coin to spend.  Been slow to do it, due to all of the scams, preorders, delays, etc.

Without scanning the 75 pages this thread has turned into, can anyone provide a quick answer to the following questions?  (Yes, I'm sure the answer is in this thread somewhere, but it would not only benefit me, but others I'm sure to get these basic questions answered.)

I'm referring to the full 400Gh/s system.

1) Can bitcoins be used as payment?
2) When will the unit ship, assuming an order date of today? (as closely estimated as possible)
3) Does this unit contain everything I need to immediately start mining?
4) What size PSU do I need to run it?
5) What cooling do I need to run it?
6) Using the ship date from question #2, what would be the estimated (although hard to predict, so just looking for a rough ballpark estimate) time for 100% ROI?

Anything else, that I'm missing would be helpful.

Its spelled out here:
https://megabigpower.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=53

1) yes  See website.
2) Huh Who knows???  By the end of October has been stated.
3) Yes read website
4) Read website.
5) UNK
6) Everyone situation is different.  Do your own math.  This calculator can help.  http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

BitSynCom, the company behind the 110nm chip, has been promising supplies for months, with significant delays. However, last week, it said it is now shipping 40,000 each day. Tens of thousands went to Zefir, a Swiss party who organized a group purchase. Bitmine CEO Giorgio Massarotto drove to Zefir to pick up between 37,500 and 40,000 chips over the weekend

from:
http://www.coindesk.com/bitmine-to-drop-4phs-of-asic-power-onto-bitcoin-network-before-april/
Anyone read this?? not sure what it means or if any truth to it, but that would mean zefir has 6 batches at least shipped?
[/quote]

Yeah, Didn't make sense to me.  He posted that his second shipment just arrived.  10k chips.

What's really funny is you nailed it.

It's an Echo Chamber in this thread for these lost souls. They complain, complain, complain, but don't get refunds. I wonder what their angle is.

"Oh big bad Terrahash isn't giving refunds WHAAAA"

People have gotten refunds from BFL and I guarantee you that is 10x more difficult.

Basically they just need to vent because they feel they made a bad investment.

The constant whining and "what-ifs" do get rather tiresome even if I am earning badges.

Haha, most the custom hardware threads these days degrade quickly into nothing but useless noise. Sort of like a pack of yipping Chihuahua's.  Annoying, but never really doing anything but adding to the noise level.
Thanks for the ignore function.  Most of this thread looks like "This User is currently ignored"  Grin

This weeks dividend (not including the extra payment) equates to an annualized rate of return of roughly 27% based on a BTC0.16 per share investment - and we are just getting started! AFAIK the capital raised to date has not been fully committed. All early adopters must be pretty happy.

No doubt we will get a good update from LR now that he is back from his roadtrip!

This is correct, but you need to halve that figure as it was paid double in error (see above). You can expect rates like the ones you said pretty soon though...

As you even quoted, he said NOT INCLUDING THE EXTRA PAYMENT.   Grin

dang who is the one with the 2.4TH/sec miner Tongue

I guess some Mini-rigs?  Hope he helps us solve some blocks.  Been kinda slow lately.
197  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: August 24, 2013, 05:28:03 PM
You just put 100W of equipment into a completely enclosed box with no airflow. Aren't you worried about heat?

yeah, first thing I thought of too.  Maybe he is trying to "Kiln-dry" his lumber?   Grin

EDIT:  @DennisD7 -That sound absorption material, is it fire resistant?   If there are ANY sparks in your rig,  it makes for nice kindling.... http://youtu.be/D4xaWMKBlw4

How does it work if it was a mistake? Does the excess get removed from our accounts automatically?

I don't know if you can withdraw from your investors accounts in Bitfunder.  Seems like that could be a gaping security issue.  I would think the most logical way to fix, is leave it and adjust your next weeks payment to account for this weeks overpayment.

Cheers

Yeah This ^  +1
I purchased assembly for batch 6 chips.  I am not likely to see ROI anytime soon on that.   Tongue

I was looking through the thread for ideas for mounting  ASICMINER blades but didn't see anything other than the guy with the production Rackmount case.   What are the "blade people" using to mount and cool overclocked blades?

Cheers! Grin
