181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: September 06, 2014, 11:55:37 PM
Currently, I'd say check out the GAW Miners Hashlet's, especially the Prime ones as those can do everything all other hashlets can (and will do in the future!). One of the things a Hashlet Prime can (or very soon will) do is switch from scrypt to SHA256 and back. But Prime's aren; t cheap. Other Hashlets are cheaper, though a little more expensive then Zeus. But the beta stage is pretty noticeable in Zeushash, and in my opinion it needs to build quite a bit before I would recommend it. Security is as bad as can be (no encryption and anyone can change the payout address without any question)
So, go Hashlet (see my signature link which leads to the Hashlet Genesis, so look around the site, or visit direct at gawminers.com)

For Armed and those that don't know:

You can make your profile visible to others (they can see your orders/hashrate)
And you can set the start page after login to Global stats or Profile.

I've asked around, and I think Morguk is right. The Hashlet Prime is the unquestionable Top of the Foodchain and will receive ALL the features other hashlets have. So, the Prime will be able to do what the Genesis can do, but not vice versa.
But since pricing is the same, buy Hashlet Prime! And once that simple fact turns to commion knowledge.... will the Genesis go down in price to keep sales going? Or will the Prime go up in price? Or.... there's a third option...
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner Hashlet Discussion Thread on: September 06, 2014, 12:44:21 PM

The genesis isn't a prime, it can't switch back. The prime can switch to genesis and back though.
Hmm, interesting remark Smiley

I've reread Josh's post, and this is what he says (and that's where I got the info from Ian, not the feature list or comparisons):
"Oh! And Hashlet Primes are going to be able to switch to SHA-256 at the end of next week. You will be able to switch it between Scypt and SHA on the fly! We will explain how this will work next week"

Based on that, Prime's can switch back and forth. Okay...

But a Hashlet Genesis is a Prime. My Zen Dashbaord shows the Genesis listed under "Prime Hashlets". I can make a screenshot but no time now, and likely you can see for yourself anyway:)
So, I'm keeping the door open that the Genesis can switch back and forth also. If not then the only "Prime" to buy is a Hashlet Prime and not a Genesis.

Just a suggestion...

do not buy on the same cloud.zenminer.com account both Scrypt and SHA-256 virtual machines...

Just use 2 separate accounts...

In fact, BTC difficulty is increasing very much (15% - 20% difficulty increases every 10 days), and by few months, you could loose a part of Scrypt mining profits, just paying SHA-256 maintenance fees...

Anyway, I think too that most probably the mining farm should rebate maintenance fees according to market situation...
But it is better to be careful...

What's  the benefit of using two accounts?! Maintenance fees at GAW Miners will be adjusted downward (n their words: "adjusts to always remain profitable"), so based on that there's no risk of losing scrypt coins to SHA256 fees.
On top of that, and this is quite a biggie, the Hashlet Genesis is a Hashlet Prime, so you can (in the near future/weeks) switch from SHA256 to Scrypt mining and back again.

GAW Miners has dropped a little bomb with their Bitcoin hashlets. Flexible digital cloud mining that you own for life, cheap. That is one of the tips I gave BCS months ago: forget about 5 year or 2 year or whatever contracts, switch to a system where the customer holds the hashrate "forever".
Oh well, one can hope Smiley
187  Local / Markt / Re: KnC Neptune 3+ TH/s miner te koop on: September 06, 2014, 01:57:48 AM
Poei....

[edit]Beetje laat gisteravond...

My charitability knows no limits, but unfortunately my wallet compensates that quite effectively  Undecided

That's the way it goes. You can't go buy a car for 10K and then after a month demand an offer from the dealer because the same car is now 8K. Well, you can, but good luck Wink

offmenut, I see you want to sell your 2 MH/s for 0.2 BTC. Not sure how you plan to do that, but here's a one time offer. I buy them from you if GM cooperates in transferring the hashrate to my account. That'll give you a nice way out and a chance to rethink whether investing in crypto is smart for you and how and when to do it. And I have a bit more hashrate, I guess.

Oh, and you have to put this in your signature:
I have visited www.megamike.nl and all I got was this lousy signature

In fact, I'll up to payment to 0.22BTC if you do put that in your signature and keep it there for a while. Indefinitely is also good Cheesy

Also reminds me, I have to update my site with the new prices. Thankfully that's mostly copy/paste since Ian did all the hard work  Lips sealed

50gh1y contracts that run at 120GH/s?! Where on the site can I find those Cheesy
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt.CC | Scrypt Cloud Mining on: September 04, 2014, 09:01:56 AM
So... did you go to the toilet yet?!  Grin

We were thinking either a smaller Halloween one, or skip that and go with a very big Christmas tournament.  What do you guys think?
Depends on how small Tongue

But do both. People love it, and love is good.

Just ordered a new contract Smiley

Umm?! They added Bitcoin mining, SHA256, brand new, and a new interface. What other new stuff are you waiting for Wink

Well, if you take the time to read the posts before yours then we won't have to repeat ourselves. The link to another site where the transactions ARE visible are already posted
197  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: August 31, 2014, 10:32:00 AM
Depends, Hanslo. My payment arrived, but some transactions are "stuck" as 5ick3uffalo already reported.

I don't think there's much that PBMining can do other then wait, as the payments are already on the network. Once they are there it's up to the blockchain to handle stuff. But at least they know about it then and can monitor it.
198  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: August 31, 2014, 10:17:37 AM
"Oww" is just me mumbling. Like Oh... or Err... or Umm...
My apologies for the confusion Smiley

As for confirmation, I lack any knowledge of this level though. But I guess the block and all transactions are known, so eventually all transactions will be confirmed by other nodes. Hopefully someone else can explain a bit more in depth.

My payment is on a different tx id, by the way:

Guess I'm the first then to call in a confirmed payment  Cheesy

Hope it'll be worked out soon for you, 5ick3uffalo

Oww...
according to blockr.io there are unconfirmed payments in the block:

Ah! But I wasn't talking about ROI, just returns, any return, good or bad, profit or loss, maybe I should have explained that better Smiley

In short:
Small amounts (let's say GH/s amounts) return something for up to a year before payout is so low it's practically useless
Larger amounts (let's say at least a few handful of TH/s) will return something payable for up to two years before payouts get too low to mean anything
Really large amounts... well... longer. Buy a PH/s and perhaps 5 years is more then a marketing gag Smiley

Whether you get more out of it then you invested (positive ROI) is a different matter, but the larger the amount of hashrate, the longer you receive payouts. So, I think we still 100% agree Wink
