According to DHL tracking my Ebit E9+ arrives Tuesday!

Will post additional info as soon as she is up and running.

Get a cord!  Grin
Save downtime.
It will run at 1200w/110 but to get full capacity 1600w you need 220v or dual psus as described elsewhere in the forums.

I just hope one of you getting shipments is my anonymous reseller.  Grin
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Pool.Electroneum.Space - Best ETN Mining Pool on: January 01, 2018, 09:53:33 AM
I have my gaming pc running 2 8gb sapphire rx580s i7, Ucrypto was giving me 60/day w/stacker, 3 blocks a day, I was getting 20 per, then they hit 2 orphans in a row a few days back, the whole network hit zero blocks for hours. Eventually I saw the network hitting blocks again, but not Ucrypto. Jumped to spacepools, never been happier. Pulling down 90-100 a day. I'm staying there for a bit, at least a thousand etn. Spacepools for the win.

*** Edit because I unfairly smeared UK, apologies, it was ucrypto etn pool., NOT UK, as I initially posted. Corrected.

Didn't come with a power cord. Wish I knew, now I have to wait for that. It's not like the local store has a NEMA 6-20P to C13 lying about. Doh!
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me in selecting the altcoin for long-term investment on: December 30, 2017, 08:01:38 AM
Send me your money and I'll invest it for you!
 Tongue

Seriously nobody knows, and the people who do aren't going to tell us.
Buy some gpus. Mine cheapest easiest coins. Get a few thousand of each.
Hope something good happens. If it doesn't at least you're not out a lot of loot.
Meanwhile, read up on things a bit more. Maybe later you can throw some cash around if you're still feeling frisky.
186  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 30, 2017, 07:46:36 AM
One of my 14Th/s is hashing at 9Th/s this morning. Never had a problem with my 13.5.

One board stopped hashing a couple hours ago. Red light on board was off. System only showed 2 boards. I shutdown, reconnected the cables on the non-hashing board, rebooted and now all 3 hashing..... for now.

The problem with the 14.0s was bad risers, burning out. There was a recall and not very many were shipped, so most got fixed from the factory. The concern is there might be some floating around resellers. There hasn't been a rash of complaints here so it seems like it's not a huge deal.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how to survive my Antminer D3 on: December 25, 2017, 11:56:08 PM
Big $$ on ebag, tell them they can use it to mine bc (nicehash), they'll be crazy for it.

Claymore has a light touch, and he's smart as f#$k. I don't mind the dev fee. You all do what you want.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Here's to Noobs. Chin up! You Rock. on: December 25, 2017, 09:26:11 PM
I know. Maybe you were a big fish at another pond, maybe you were never a forums type. And Now? Here we are. There are real Giants here, we Noobs walk among them, and we can't even trust who is who. And the Old School,  how annoying it must be for them. Their quiet forest bursting out of the winter and blooming in springtime,  and suddenly a million chattering trespassers, tracking mud and clouding the still waters with garbage,  and how can they tell who is real, and who will stick, and who really sucks? So maybe nobody treats us seriously,  maybe they're a bit sharp at times, so what. Face it, most of the people who post are here and gone, Googled/came here/asked/vanished. It's surprising that they answer as many as they do.
But don't worry! Us Noobs live lives full of Joys that are known only to us. We enjoy feelings and discoveries that they haven't felt in many years.
The purpose of this thread is to celebrate the joy of noobiness. Tell your story of Noob Greatness! That time you were all like "YES!"

Ok, I'm going to start it up.

So I got an s9 ordered but while I'm waiting I have a great pc because I'm a gamer from way back but I hardly ever play anymore (msi x99+/32g/ddr3/i7@350/watercooled) and it's money I spent awhile ago so I'm not counting it as an expense and I'm not going to even if I should because yeah.
Nhash was ok but it was easy. No real working pools/miners/coins. No .bat files. No .config.
Anywho I pointed a single 580 at ucrypto/etn just to check it out. Tweaked it to stable and walked away.
24 hours later.... Nothing!
I'm probably doing it wrong...
So I crashed before work, woke up....
Hit for 20etn right after I went to bed!
Again, right before I got up! 21 more!
Went to work, 2am, 20 more!
So, I'm doing it right I guess, gotta get both cards going,  take the time to get it set,  but hey, I has etn! And it went up .01!
I'm sooooooo on my way to greatness!

Have you also felt Noobs Triumph?
Tell it if you want to.  First time you hit "x" /s or x number of coins or whatever made you happy.
Cheers!
Here's to us!

191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expecting bitcoin drops below 10K within 24 hours, anyone with me? on: December 22, 2017, 02:46:38 PM
I think next year. If there is no solution.

The crash that we are seeing is nothing about the scaling problem. The whole crypto is crashing not only bitcoin!!!. There's some serious cashing out and ensuing panic that's why the price is nose diving.

It could probably drop below $10K or maybe not. Support levels at $14K and $12K has been broken, causing more panic around the investors.

And as @Andre_Goldman has posted, this is the only news that I read that could possible attribute to the crashing, but why bring the whole crypto? Even bitcoin cash who we have seen is making a attempt once more suddenly plunges as well.

Good point. It seems like some big whales want to cause panic selling which they succeed to do so. As far as daily close is not under 11K, up trend is still valid. In case it breaks and stay there a bit then we can see that trend may change after all.

It's worth noting that the usual trend is for bitcoin cash to rise when bitcoin drops. This is bucking the trend,  which is odd.
192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expecting bitcoin drops below 10K within 24 hours, anyone with me? on: December 22, 2017, 02:40:01 PM
I call bottom at 10.5/11, buy on the dip.
Cheers!
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash site is up... on: December 22, 2017, 02:36:55 AM
I think they're more profitable right away but maybe not long term... like I'm mining ethereum classic and stacking the coins at around 35-40, and hoping they go up to 75-100 next year, but I don't need the money right now, I'm waiting. Maybe I'll lose. I guess you could stack bc too, but I don't use my gpus for that. For straight up income daily nicehash is usually the best. Sucks about the hack but no risk no reward I guess.
194  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & Bitcoin on: December 22, 2017, 02:13:59 AM
My worry is that the wall street banks will use their political influence. For instance,  today Goldman Sachs announced a crypto trading desk opening in 18. How long before they start with crushing the competition? Look out gdax here comes Goodman Sachs. First they'll say it's not fair they have to follow regulations but gdax doesn't. Next they'll lobby government for regulations. For our own good, of course. To keep us safe. The new rules will cost millions of dollars to comply with. You need an army of clerks and lawyers to keep the forms filled out! Goldman Sachs has one. Gdax doesn't. Any emerging competition will be unable to afford the new rules. Competition crushed, the new giant can take advantage of the market share to recoup their investment in lobbying through higher user fees. This is the corruptocrats business model. We must strive to avoid it.
195  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 21, 2017, 11:40:29 PM
Well today is the 1st day of the official Dec 21-30 batch ship dates. Waiting for that email notification.......

Yeah I am mining with my  Jan 21-31 2018 order

while I wait for my Dec 21-31 2017 order to ship.

A true WTF?

I read on another site that some of the 14.0s had riser burnouts from high heat and had to be redone. Not sure if that's true but I heard it independently from 2 different resellers. I've been trying to add one more s9 for like a month now. I actually got in to the bitmain site once but I didn't have the bc on hand and it took me more than an hour to swap around,  and I timed out on payment. 2795 price,  Feb shipments. Very frustrating. A month ago I was passing by them at 3-3.5k for way too expensive. Dumbme.
196  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Where can i buy an Antminer S9 ? on: December 21, 2017, 09:56:37 AM
jenia1 is selling preorders for 3800, he seems alright, and he does escrow. That might seem like a lot right now, but bitmain just doubled the s9 price from 1650 to 2795 per unit. The units reselling now from 3-7k on ebay were purchased at the old price of 1650. That means if the market stays the way it is, s9s can be expected to go up in the resale market. Of course, you never know what the market is going to do. Good luck!
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does mining in America die with net neutrality? on: December 18, 2017, 05:47:56 AM
I got throttled! I called my isp and told them I want to step down from 100mbps to 30mbps, and I told them I want to pay less, they said ok, and then....
they cut my service to 30mbps! They throttled me!
Wahwah.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holder's dilemma on: December 18, 2017, 05:32:40 AM
Hey guys, I've decided to ask you - what whould you do in this problemmatic situation?

Suppose you have some bitcoins (let's say 22) and you bought them / got them a few years ago very cheap, and now you see it's price and.... what to do?!! Will you take the profit and go away, or sit and hold further? Suppose you're not going to buy more. But when to sell?

This is extremely dangerous! In order to ensure that your interests are completely represented,  you should immediately transfer them to me. I  can safely defuse them, only my crazy tech skills can save You!

Kidding.  You should kneel down for a second and thank God for such good fortune,  then go forth and use them in the way that best makes sense for you and yours. Maybe toss some to a charity you like. Convert it first so you get the write off.
Congrats!
199  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Best Place For Meet & Hardware Sales? on: December 18, 2017, 05:16:02 AM
looks like they sell hardware and hosting services. would love to know if they are legit? can anyone tell us how long their website has been up? they have "reviews" on their site. https://www.thehedgecoingroup.com/products

I hate hate HATE when websites say "contact us for details"
I want to find out, not have a relationship. Maybe after I look, but only if I like what I see. Contact us for details might as well be another planet because I'm just as likely to go there.
200  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Insurance on: December 18, 2017, 04:25:26 AM
Anyone have a property insurance policy for their home mining operation?

I have over $10,000 worth of mining equipment, with more on the way.

Trying to keep my costs down, every insurance company I have talk to say I need to get general liability insurance with property insurance, and that gets expensive.

Just trying to protect my self from theft/fire.

My insurance company has copies of receipts for my most valuable things. These things are covered, no doubt.  My miners I have not submitted receipts for.  They wouldn't be covered. I could,  but I choose not to.
