181  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC to USD to bank? (US) on: November 25, 2013, 07:09:42 PM
I'm based in the US, small time miner, wondering if I want to trade BTC for USD how it can be xferred to my bank/credit union/wire house. I was hoping Mt. Gox might be an option but it seems wires with them are blocked by US banking institutions. Not looking to do any trades soon, but would like a plan for when I eventually do. Any advice?

Thanks

I believe coinbase would be the easiest for you for selling in the U.S.

183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin millionaires, tell us your story! on: November 25, 2013, 06:34:21 PM
A million bucks isn't enough to retire on.  Heck, I'm 32 and worth close to $3 million (Not from BTC), yet I still work my butt off everyday, albeit for myself.  If I was 70 maybe then I would consider retiring, but a lot can happen in the next 40 years.  Need to keep working to make sure I have the life I want, and for my sanity's sake as well lol.

Though 3 million is enough though maybe not enough for your needs.  You should be able to make more than $100,000 in gains each year just from that money.  With the average long term returns the stock market and real estate you would on average end up still building up money (to cover inflation and keep the returns growing) if you only pulled out $100,000.  If you were above average in investments you could pull out a lot more than that.

I don't think he is estimating his worth of $3million in liquid cash. At 32 though retiring early, your expenses are likely to go up a lot since you'll have a lot of free time. The $3million or whatever it may be will not last your lifetime and your still very young of working age. Inflation, crises, etc.
184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are people willing to sell in wholesale price? on: November 25, 2013, 06:27:11 PM
It's not as easy to buy than to sell them. Wholesale is unlikely.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Gold Standard on: November 25, 2013, 06:22:59 PM
What each coin refers to themselves as doesn't really mean anything. Bitcoin is the most likely to go mainstream. It has the most mainstream interest and more venture capitalists are open to Bitcoin startups than any other one. What happens to Litecoin and alternatives no one will know.
186  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Anyone Buying Bitcoins? on: November 25, 2013, 06:18:17 PM
Is anyone buying bitcoins at the current selling price? And if so, how much?

I am. I am also in bitcoin at a few different price levels down to double digit, so I am increasing my position a little at over $800

191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A perspective on just how rare it is to own 0.1 BTC: on: November 25, 2013, 08:01:17 AM
I think this thread should be considered speculation, and by speculation I mean really really out there. Judge out BTC holdings based on the entire earth's population? Why would anyone even spend the time doing that lol.
I'm all in with BTC, but sometimes the threads are just a bit out there.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin millionaires, tell us your story! on: November 25, 2013, 07:59:11 AM

197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simplest way to sell and withdraw 1 BTC in France? on: November 25, 2013, 04:50:42 AM
Easiest probably would be to do it through a community exchanger if you just need to sell 1 btc and are having issues.
198  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Sell some Bitcoins Via Paypal on: November 25, 2013, 04:33:59 AM
Seems shady to me. Aren't chargebacks really scary this time?

Bottom line Paypal seems to be the choice favorite by new people to the forum looking to scam. More than likely he wants it sent as a gift/donation. PayPal is much easier to scam people whether you are buying BTC with paypal or selling BTC for paypal.
199  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Sell some Bitcoins Via Paypal on: November 25, 2013, 04:15:58 AM
I think this guy is a scammer. I sent him a PM and he responded to me saying

Quote
i never send first , i like 50% Money 100% BTC and later 50% money , ONLY if u are verified .

im selling at 700$ ea i have 4.49"

Selling far below exchange rate, he's a junior member and he is expecting money first. Be cautious.

If anyone has successfully traded with this guy please say so.

Sounds like a scam to me too.

There's been a lot of people recently coming on the forums wanting to pay with PayPal or accept PayPal. I don't think even one has been legitimate.
200  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying BTC for Amazon Gift Codes at MtGox rate on: November 25, 2013, 04:10:20 AM
There's a couple Amazon gift code sellers in the digital goods forum including me.
