181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Liberty Reserve on: May 29, 2013, 09:29:00 AM
Remember they still have not moved against Bitcoin, because they dont really know how to. Now with LR gone, we can expect to see some fresh money flowing in, and even more people to secure the network validation.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Liberty Reserve on: May 28, 2013, 10:24:28 AM
Look at this thread btw: http://www.talkgold.com/forum/r391464-.html

It is completely completely crazy people have 10k+ stored in a centralized, non-regulated system like that. Who in their right mind did not think this could happen? LR was the pit hole of all scam in the world and next to E-gold when it came to being seized next. Yet people did not give Bitcoin a second look, despite its properties.

They don't want to adopt bitcoin as their main currency because those peoples doesn't want to put their money in a non stable currency. Most of them are Forex/HYIP investors.

And about LR, it was a old currency, even big companies/exchangers started using LR, that build trust between users and thousands or probably millions of peoples started using it.

I think stability can be argued now that the worth of LR money is a big ZERO. Just because there is no big swings in the dollar and gold compared to Bitcoin, still does not make these payment systems secure in terms of stable money. The proof is right here in front of us. Tomorrow HD Money could be gone. Bitcoin is volatile but beats any storage medium for stability. I think most people would rather loose 10% on price instability than 100% due to confiscation. Cyprus anyone?

Looking at the topics on Talkgold it seems those people have learned nothing from the shutdown of LR. They are all happily moving to other centralized systems such as HD Money and whatever god awful payment portals there are. Honestly, I dont think they understand how Bitcoin works and why it is different. Take a look for yourself: http://www.talkgold.com/forum/f472-.html
185  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Liberty Reserve the popular digital currency got shut down by the authorities on: May 26, 2013, 08:19:53 PM
Great news! A huge payment system used by many. Finally the crowd will obviously move to Bitcoin, as it has grown bigger than any non fiat based system ever. I guess its only a matter of time before Bitcoin swallows all non fiat systems. Liberty Reserve was actually the last and biggest of them all standing, now that is gone and it proves once again E-gold, LR and such systems are here to disappear.
186  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: There is a way we can trade Bitcoin without getting shut down constantly - read on: May 21, 2013, 01:24:48 PM
Umm guys, I never spoke of evading any laws or jumping any regulations here. This has so far been a theoretical proposal, and due to the high requirement of funds, I have been unable to start the venture. Ironically, the majority of the funds needs to be used for legal aid, regulatory licenses and in general the legal framework.

This can only be done with some serious money behind it. The best approach would obviously be to start incorporating a company and getting it listed on an exchange. Pink Sheets in the USA or equivalent in Europe such as AIM in UK would work quite well. But starting this without at least 250.000$ or more would be suicide.

They are talking alot about Satoshi, worth a watch for sure
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Government to create Bitcoin Exchange on: May 14, 2013, 05:55:55 PM
This is an amazing thing! Why you ask? Because all those that dream regulation will finally get into Bitcoin. That is HSBC, Barclays and hedge funds with billions behind them. Say hello to the bankers, they are our best friends to help us destroy their old world, lol

Quote
"I would be very surprised if Bitcoin is still around in 10 years," said Bremmer, the founder and CEO of Eurasia Group, the world's largest risk consulting firm. He thinks that bigger players will enter the field and improve upon Bitcoin's weaknesses.

Dinosaur mentality about what is new should be wrong, and what they learned 174 years ago still applies.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Government to create Bitcoin Exchange on: May 14, 2013, 04:19:38 PM
This is kinda jaw dropping if it happens. This will actually solidify Bitcoin as a real currency/commodity and finally give us a playing field of exchanging fiat QUICK and easy to real money. (for those that still dont know what real money is, then the magic answer is Bitcoin)  Grin
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is BitCoin forever broken!? WTF IS THIS SHIT on: May 14, 2013, 12:01:35 PM
just email all your worthless, dust choked wallets to the bit dust farmers who'll probably give you a few millbits for it

So you trade in your dust for... dust?

Yea that didnt make any sense? Also, the Bitcoin client should contain the option to be able to spend certain Bitcoins, so that you can handpick what address you send from, and not just to. Right now, dust is going to clutter even more if we dont get hang of where all Bitcoins are stored and how we access them. It should be possible to merge keys (without having to go through a miner).
193  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need a php guru - API integration and admin system coding help on: May 12, 2013, 08:09:04 PM
Just FYI for anyone here. Not meeting a deadline is obvious to any project. All I am asking is that you just say it. I am sick, I am gonna hike for 2 weeks, I am planning my third wedding or whatever. As long as you tell in good time on why. Give me the chance to plan and reorganize and all is good Smiley
194  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why are UK bitcoin buying options disappearing on: May 12, 2013, 07:58:38 PM
I am really looking for better methods in the UK to get access to Bitcoin. I am actually thinking we should seriously do something about this together, form a company, get a law firm to represent a bunch of us and chip in some money to get regulations in place. We are moving at snail speed here, and may as well get started before its too late.

Who is up for doing something about this thing? I would gladly assist with money etc myself for a venture.
195  Bitcoin / Project Development / Need a php guru - API integration and admin system coding help on: May 12, 2013, 07:52:40 PM
I am in need of a very experienced programmer that is good with php and API integration. I also furthermore need someone that is VERY stable and will be able to keep to deadlines and stay online and work with me and not disappear every day.

Here are my requirements in details:

- You know your php in and out, you have preferably worked with a framework such as Zend
- You know jQuery and native Javascript and can handle most routine tasks
- You are familiar with Bootstrap HTML framework as we will be using that

It will take me roughly ½ hour on IRC/Skype to explain the requirement for the project. If you are up for making some good money please contact me and we can take the rest in details on Skype.

You must be willing to sing an NDA for this project. And you really must be a stable guy that can at least hold the deadlines you give yourself. You pretty much have free hands, but for the love of god, if you take this project at least stick to it.

We will be working with websites such as www.findabitcoin.com to start with and expand on its capabilities.

198  Economy / Services / Need a programmer - javascript guru on: May 01, 2013, 10:53:47 PM
I am having a problem with a javascript pop up window. The effect is quite amazing, since it behaves different depending on the location of the ip. This should not be possible. The behavior is in-explainable and I really need someone good at javascript to take a look and tell me what they can see as I really dont know how to even begin solving this.

I pay with BTC. Please contact me on PM if you think you are match for this. The function is window.unload
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Any Bitcoin 24/7 online radio? on: April 29, 2013, 02:01:35 PM
I am looking for a cool place to listen to music and obviously have Bitcoin debates. While the entire world is debating Bitcoin right I would like to find a more "dedicated" to radio station. Anyone know of such?
200  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: THE BITCOIN FOUNDATION, INC. on: April 26, 2013, 09:55:21 AM
We dont need anyone representing what cannot be controlled. This foundation is a mockery to our decentralized structure CREATED by Satoshi.
