ok, I just re-read your post above, so your saying your pulling 60 Watt at the wall, and getting 80% efficiency at the power brick? 60Watt -> 48watt (225Mhz)?
182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R808 Miner Official Support Thread on: March 16, 2018, 01:53:06 PM
Wow 60 Watts? what frequency are you running at?
According to SideHack's power chart, 60 watts is 275MHz

Quote
100MHz (44GH) 660mV/node 2.64V total; 12V 1.4A for 16.8W/0.38J/GH
125MHz (55GH) 660mV/node 2.64V total; 12V 1.7A for 20.4W/0.37J/GH
150MHz (66GH) 660mV/node 2.64V total; 12V 2.0A for 24.0W/0.36J/GH
175MHz (77GH) 693mV/node 2.77V total; 12V 2.5A for 30.0W/0.39J/GH
200MHz (88GH) 715mV/node 2.86V total; 12V 3.1A for 37.2W/0.42J/GH
225MHz (99GH) 755mV/node 3.02V total; 12V 3.8A for 45.6W/0.46J/GH
250MHz (110GH) 770mV/node 3.08V total; 12V 4.4A for 52.8W/0.48J/GH
275MHz (121GH) 770mV/node 3.08V total; 12V 4.9A for 58.8W/0.49J/GH

Ill pick up a P3 Killawatt on my way home from work tonight and see what I'm pulling per pod.

But even so, then just jump to a 750Watt, its still the same common slot power supply, still under $40

I've used the 1200Watt and Sidehacks break out board for GPU builds and AntMiners, its a solid reliable design. (those are just crazy expensive right now)

I need to order a new GekkoScience Break Out Board but I want to give a 460W Common Slot a try. theoretically, it could run around 9 pods with 90% efficiency.

I get a solid 225 out of the ones I've tested, they heat up quick but the fans  kick in hard and the bottom of the Terminus only hits around 65C (infrared thermometer). Its stable and the Hashrate actually fluctuates between around 77Gh and 140Gh (averages 96)

"0: GSE 10030054: BM1384:8 225.00MHz (1/19/43/0) | 110.2G / 96.41Gh/s"

I run from a 6A powerbrick. From a stack of China made test units, its the most reliable Ive used so far. It gets a little hot so I know its not that efficient.
I have that and a 5A that is reliable to, not sure what the exact pull is, I dont have a clamp meter and im too lazy to buy a KillaWatt.

the 6A is a "LX1206" made in china and the 5A is a "HTY-1205000"

Are you sure the reset line stays pulled high? If the controller sees a problem it pulls reset low for one second, then high for two seconds, then rechecks, so if the problem persists the reset line cycles low and back to high every 3 seconds.
yes, I let it sit for a while, it has a VERY minor fluctuation 1.409 to 1.410 volts but it never drops.

while writing this, it just kicked off a single cycle of work then failed again.

im going to build a quick jumper connector so i can watch the voltage for an extended period so i can catch it again when it starts responding(without having to hold the meter leads to the 2 pins by hand).

just had a failure.
interesting its not respecting the --gekko-start-freq 80 command.
@Sidehack, I checked the reset header,  its still showing 1.4v event though it says 0 chips.

Hey VH, I saw some wierdness with one of my units yesterday during testing. It spun up great on the first try and was chugging along at 150Mhz. I closed and restarted cgminer and the damn thing just crapped out. It was weird because the only change was restarting cgminer.
It ran through hundreds of re-enumerations until it randomly just started working again. Any idea on what I can give you for diganostics? I've already talked with sidehack about it and know what he needs the next time it happens.

"When it drops out, check the voltage across the two pins on the reset header. If it's flatlined at zero volts, that indicates an issue with the temperature sensor. The onboard controller won't enable the mining chips without valid temperature data. If it cycles between zero and around 1.4 volts, there's an issue with the chips and the string isn't turning on right."

Sorry I've been busy and It old but still important

Can you tell me why you think this unit is junk? and/or provide a link to a single unit PSU? I actually run my personal rigs on 92% efficient HP1200 w/Gekko break out boards but I need a PSU for single unit sales.

Hey VH/Sidehack. Super excited for this release. For the barrel jack connector, i saw on the announcement release, it uses about 4.5 amps at 12V.
So based on that, a standard LED strip light power pack should work. something like this? http://amzn.to/2FsOMP1

100MHz (44GH) 660mV/node 2.64V total; 12V 1.4A for 16.8W/0.38J/GH
125MHz (55GH) 660mV/node 2.64V total; 12V 1.7A for 20.4W/0.37J/GH
150MHz (66GH) 660mV/node 2.64V total; 12V 2.0A for 24.0W/0.36J/GH
175MHz (77GH) 693mV/node 2.77V total; 12V 2.5A for 30.0W/0.39J/GH
200MHz (88GH) 715mV/node 2.86V total; 12V 3.1A for 37.2W/0.42J/GH
225MHz (99GH) 755mV/node 3.02V total; 12V 3.8A for 45.6W/0.46J/GH
250MHz (110GH) 770mV/node 3.08V total; 12V 4.4A for 52.8W/0.48J/GH
275MHz (121GH) 770mV/node 3.08V total; 12V 4.9A for 58.8W/0.49J/GH
