181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If people stop buying bitcoin on: April 06, 2018, 12:30:54 PM
As with all goods, products- gold, cars, stocks, precious metals, dollar bills, bonds,groceries-when people stop demanding for it, the value goes to zero. bitcoin is no exception to the rule.stay crypto.
182  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will have a price of $50000 on: April 05, 2018, 12:43:33 PM
Yes,bitcoin can reach 50000 usd by the year end.It only needs to get out of the present bearish market and have a bull run.It will only be possible if there is an inflow of institutional funding..that will only be likely if there are some minimal government regulations to create some sanity. It is possible for bitcoin to hit 50k  in 2018.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: April 04, 2018, 11:09:38 AM
Kind of funny,it is really a free world.I have never bought drugs with bitcoins,I think this is one of the reasons the government says bitcoin is bad and is used for illegal activities.Guess what?the USD is the most widely used currency to buy drugs... Grin Grin Grin
184  Bitcoin / Press / Re: ]04-04-2018] Crypto Exchanges Charges 10x More To List Tokens on: April 04, 2018, 11:02:41 AM
I do think this is completely a good thing as it can affect the success of some small ICOs.Imagine giving out 1 million $ of the total sums realized during an ICO.This will only enrich the owners of such exchanges.I think it was caused by the proliferation of ICOs.Maybe decentralized exchanges will be better in this regard.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung is going to support bitcoin on: April 03, 2018, 03:25:59 PM
If that were to be the case, bitcoin price will have some price appreciation as samsung have a large customer base.I think they are only interested in chips for mining hardwares for now.Maybe in the future,we will see some a closer association of Samsung with bitcoins
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins bad luck on: April 03, 2018, 03:21:38 PM
Do not worry,I believe the dip is only for a short period.I still strongly hold that bitcoin will eventually rally up.I think we have already seen the worst of bitcoin price this year. They market will gradually recover in the coming months.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do we need to diversify? on: March 31, 2018, 06:16:42 PM
Diversification is a welcome idea in any crypto-currency portfolio because it helps you reduce your risks. The market is still at infancy and there is always a chance that you may have invested in the wrong project.Having a diversified portfolio help take off the heat on a particular coin when the price fluctuates, you will have somewhere else to focus on.
188  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Cibus world баунти on: March 30, 2018, 10:01:11 PM
I participated in the Cibus Bouty and have the reward on the website, they ask for KYC to be carried out and that those who got tokens from bounty ONLY (Non-premium members) to send them the gas fee.I will personally wait till the project is listed on the exchange before I send them the gas fee.About 0.0003ETH
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: March 30, 2018, 09:51:14 PM
Ethereum is like the mother of all crypto-currencies.I still believe ethereum will someday prove its true worth.I don't think it is currently overpriced at its current level.I think I would be right to say it has some of the best developers in the world and that the best is yet to come from ETH.So sorry if ETH has made you lose some money
190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin is still dropping ? on: March 29, 2018, 01:52:11 PM
bitcoin just made the 'death cross' signalling a classic bearish market and it seems it is going to be for a longer time than we had earlier anticipated. We need some good news to pull the market out of this.HODlers are feeling the hit badly. In spite of all this, bitcoin will always bounce back stronger. I still believe in a 30k bitcoin by the end of the year
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining , still worth it? on: March 29, 2018, 01:43:06 PM
It is always a good thing to consider what the cost of electricity is in your region before you set out to purchase mining hardware.I personally use old or fairly-used hardware to build my rig in an attempt to bring the cost to a minimum.I usually don't sell my coins immediately.this worked perfectly for me when I mined ETH.Do the maths before you start, it is easy to mine at a loss. To me,it is still ok.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 seems like a good year for ALTCOIN on: March 29, 2018, 01:31:57 PM
It is still a good year for cryptocurrency despite the current gloomy outlook and poor start. It is kind of a difficult time for HODlers now, bitcoin just make the death cross and the market is bleeding badly.Things will eventually recover in the coming months
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty and too many participants on: March 27, 2018, 03:30:52 PM
I observed that too,it may or may not be a good thing. From the perspective of projects,it is,because it simply means there are more persons become aware of their project while for bounty hunters more competitions and less rewards. It however will not affect the profitably of investing directly in ICOs as only  a small fraction of total sums raised from ICOs is dedicated to bounties, typically less than 5 per cent. The good part is that a lot of ICOs are in the market and in need of bounty hunters,so i dont think it will be saturated that soon.Pick your best 3 or 4 bounties and leave the rest for other hunters. Thanks for sharing
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FAKE ICOs Bounties. What to do? on: March 26, 2018, 10:30:32 PM
If you're involved in these fake bounty threads, you don't have any way to get anything.
You can choose an excellent bounty manager, which generally does not happen, and avoid the level of the bounty manager only  JR member and member.
You made some very valid point above. For starters,i am generally skeptical when the manager of the bounty on bitcointalk is a junior member. To me ,it means they have not been active in the space and as such may not know much about cryptos or altcoins(i do not mean to disrespect the junior members on the platform-i am a junior member too by the way).I see a low ranking manager as a redflag in my bounty search.Managers who have spent some time in the community and have shown themselves to be persons with integrity will certainly attract me to join such campaign.
With that settled,I do a few more background search and then make my decision whether or not to join in the campaign.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the governments ban all privacy cryptocurrencies ? on: March 25, 2018, 10:59:11 PM
I'm considering to buy and hold some privacy coins for long term. I read some articles and they said governments are taking harsh stances on privacy coins. Do you think they will ban all privacy cryptocurrencies by prohibiting exchanges to list those coins?

I dont think they will succeed in killing privacy coin.Privacy coins are designed in the first instance to remove transactions from the prying eyes of government. And they decide to ban exchanges from listing them,it will only spur more interest in the coins, moreover,Government cannot control all exchanges across different countries. And even if they do,their are a lot of decentralized exchanges where people can easily convert privacy coins to other coin.It will be a futile effort and a sinister one at that. The surge in price in privacy coins is just an indication that a lot of interest lies there since bitcoins are now pseudo anonymous
196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can buy some altcoin?? on: March 25, 2018, 10:00:49 PM
Hi I am new user in bitcointalk.org and I want to buy some altcoin. I have no experience about trading. Please share your experience.

You will need to start doing a lot of research .There are no guarantees you will make money from altcoins trading or investment. Some persons will win and there will be losers.People who make money on cryptos are those who have invested heavily in research and had the guts and cash to follow through with their findings. Also you cannot rely on information passed out on general forum to make informed decisions, because their are just opinions of people-good and bad alike. So before you make any trade or investment, spend enough time doing personal research, check the website of the altcoin you are interested in,check the team, the community activities on social media, road map, upcoming events, price history etc.
197  Economy / Economics / Re: Had enough of wrong investments on ALTS? on: March 25, 2018, 09:38:36 PM
I've been on the forum for quite a while now and I must say, I had my fair share of regrets about investing in a specific ICO or joining in their bounty campaigns. All those time, effort and money getting wasted at the end or you would wait for a very long time before you see the fruit of your labor. So how can we somehow mitigate the risk of investing in the wrong ones? Here are my preferences:

  • The most important thing before investing/joining an ICO is to DYOR! that is your responsibility so that you will not blame the team or the ICO at the end because of how it turned out.
  • Upon doing your own research, you should be able to distinguish what kind of token the project will produce.
  • The kind of token we should invest with are "UTILITY TOKENS"
So what are Utility tokens? IMO, tokens that are used right off the bat to cancel out the transfer of money from one country to another, save fees and time like tokens for blockchain(ETH, NEO, NEBULAS, and AION) that acts as fuel whenever you want to stay connected to their blockchain while you are writing your dapp. These can be considered as Utility tokens.

This is what I've learned so far and you guys are free to share your point of view about it so that we can help each other on the forum one way or the other.
Thanks for sharing.Doing your own research cannot be over-emphasized.I have had my own share of regrets for ignoring this.I invested in scam ICO while sad case was investing in an ICO whose team members were clueless, kept asking questions on how to proceed, eventually the project died, coin lost its value and basically became shitcoins.
In my own opinion,i think one of the most important aspect of DYOR is to critically scrutinize the team members, because even the noblest and brightest of ideas will fail is the team is weak or is made up of persons with questionable integrity.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks are now sending mass mailer to create negativity about cryptocurrency on: March 25, 2018, 09:19:06 PM
Major global banks have already cleared their intention towards crypto currency by spreading negative news about it. Many banks have suspended accounts of crypto business entities. Overall banks are extremely negative about this crypto currency market and they are trying to discourage people from using it in an organized way. They have thrown us in to a challenge where the playing ground is not even. However, banks in India have not yet shown any big threat to the crypto related business until today.

Today morning while checking my email, I found an email sent out by my bank that talks about crypto currency. While the tone of the email is pretty much neutral but that's enough to create a confusion among the people especially those who doesn't know anything about crypto currency in general. See the picture below,

Just in case, the picture doesn't show up, I have copied the text from the email below,

Quote
Dear Customer,

We request you to take note of the following important information.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI), vide its press releases dated December 05, 2017 has raised concerns and cautioned users, holders and traders of Virtual Currencies (VCs), including Bitcoins, regarding the potential economic, financial, operational, legal, customer protection and security related risks associated in dealing with such VCs and also clarified that it has not given any licence/authorization to any entity/company to operate such schemes or deal with Bitcoin or any VC.
The Government has also advised that “Distributed ledger system or the block chain technology allows organization of any chain of records or transactions without the need of intermediaries. The Government does not consider crypto-currencies legal tender or coin and will take all measures to eliminate use of these crypto-assets in financing illegitimate activities or as part of the payment system.”

Given concerns, both globally and locally including from the Reserve Bank of India, IDBI Bank would like to caution you regarding the potential economic, financial, operational, legal, customer protection and security related risks associated in dealing with cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoins and virtual currencies.

Assuring you of our best services at all times.

Regards,
IDBI Bank Ltd., Mumbai.

This is an organized effort undertaken by the banks to discourage general people from the crypto currency. I don't know what legal grounds they have but it is clear that they are considering crypto currency as a potential risk to their business. If this continues, it will be hard for the community to attract new investors.
Thanks for sharing this mail,it show how the government is really determined to scare people off  bitcoin that could potential make their life easier in many ways. The Japanese are having an increase in their GDP due to the positive impact of bitcoins because their government allowed their citizens to profit from bitcoins,on thee contrary,we are having the government of india banning its citizens from bitcoins, even threatening its citizens. They are employing the old cliche that bitcoins are used to finance illegal activities.Reserve bank of india should think of the interest of its citizens.this is sad.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin used by criminals ? on: March 24, 2018, 02:37:40 PM
I once read an article that says bitcoin is used as a payment transaction for terrorists and hackers. And maybe you guys in this forum also already know it. But here i want to convey my personal opinion in that matter. I think that internet and bitcoin interrelated. Many terrorists and criminals use internet .so also with bitcoin which used perpetrator However, despite all these issues, do people make concrete efforts to ban the internet? No. Not because removing and banning Bitcoin is difficult, but because the internet offers more positive than negative. For the same reason, we have to be more careful about our mindset for Bitcoin, because much evidence has shown that Bitcoin brings many positive, if not more, effects than the internet. Internet and Bitcoin are just devices that 'bad guys' and 'good people'. Fortunately, the world is filled with more people in the 'good people' category.
Bitcoin, gold, diamond, precious metals ,the USD are all used by terrorist to finance illegal activities. The USD is most likely the most commonly used in terms of volume. The argument against bitcoin as a tool for funding illegal activities to me is an attempt to put bitcoin in a negative spotlight.bitcoin is a good thing,it is used by both good and bad people same way other currencies are used for both good and evil.I also believe that there should be some basic infrastructure on to guard it being abused by users.,some level of control, certainly not total to keep us all safe.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is 1ETH=$10,000 worth the possibility? on: March 24, 2018, 02:22:57 PM
What do you think?
It is kind of hard to see this when the market is bearish, but i think it is a possibility. If there is one thing we have learnt from cryptos is that anything is possible.Wel saw ETH move from 12 USD t over 300usd in a short while. So it is very possible and easy to move from 600usd to 10,000usd.Just a question of time.Botcoin moved from 10 cents to over 10,000 usd in just a few years
