Thanks @maxwelfox!

This brings a lot of light on my questions.

I will use to occasion to invite everybody who is still in doubt to
use the chance and start forging his/her own coins for free.
Here is the invite link: http://metagather.org

Found another very interesting coin project: #Metahash

Combining blockchain, torrent and a very smart staking (forging)
combo + running nodes with different roles makes this
coin very unique. (Or atleast I havent seen something similar).

For new users they are offering 1000 free MHC so you can
start using them to stake and forge your own coins.

7. So far the wallet has many features from Dapps to forging or just being a wallet.
For a new user like me it was very unclear which is where.
So I think menu re-organisation (from sombody not familiar with it) would help
so simplify the interface. Also, the having one wallet provided by MHC
for forging and another one where rewards from forging go is a pretty unclear concept.

I hope these will help improve it further!

The purpouse of this thread is to add all coins which can be mined
by providing your computer's internet access to network.

The first one I can add is NKN coin - miner can be installed
on almost any device - from an old Android phone to a VPS.

You get reward for relaying messages for their CDS network.

What other similar coins you know of?

I just red the walpaper and I'm impressed. This is very close to how I imagine the both fast and scalable blockchain.
However, after tortureing  Dmitry on Discord with questions, now I have more of them Smiley

1. In whitepaper you are speaking of proxy nodes and data storage nodes.
Can I run such nodes, or they are regular nodes which are used with
these special purpouse only?

2. After I register on Metagather.org
and claim the free 1000 lended coins for forging (your word for staking),
can I receive also more coins if my node is proxy or storage type?

3. If I run a full wallet, do I receive more coins? (is there an option to run a full node?)

4. When I registered it, I never received a private key for my wallet.
Just a public one and a file which I don't know what do do with.
Is it some kind of replacement of private key and if yes, can it be used
via other, different wallet software?

4. The MHC coin is perfect for mobile devices, android TV boxes,
old tablets, phones, Raspberry PIs and various IoT devices.
Since it is not mining, it does not put stress on such devices
so it can run peacefully on them.  Do you plan releasing
software for Android platform?

5. Mobile wallet?

6. How can I find out what type of node I have?

a) Core
b) Verification
c) Peer

7. Please simplify the navigation of the wallet interface and add an uptime timer.

Hello, i have downloaded Windows miner... so here is the screenshot, what that means sometimes is hash rate, sometimes only showing max. hash rate, and how i must calculate daily profit can you tell me?

Calc: https://www.coincalculators.io/coin/uplexa

I think you are mining on a dead pool.
Try another one.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: July 26, 2019, 07:55:41 PM
I filled my bandwidth quota and now node says:

Warning!!! Increase you Bandwidth Limit!

How am I going to receive any tokens if my node just sits there
with full harddrive and no bandwidth left?
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NKN - New Kind of Network on: July 26, 2019, 07:52:45 PM
Repository for miner is here:

https://github.com/nknorg/nkn/releases

Install guide is here:

https://github.com/nknorg/nkn/blob/master/README.md

(works also for windows, just read between the lines)

Current version is 1.04 Beta

Hi I have some LCS and I found there is LCS2 token.
How can I get the LCS 2?
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: July 10, 2019, 10:23:05 PM
Devs, please read the complete tutorial for installing a Storj V3 node.
It is insanely complex mix of different tools, steps, settings, files, etc.

Even if I wanted to spend 2-3 hours researching which goes where,
after the first update when I have to do half of this will be enough
to loose patience.

Either simplify the process or provide a complete pre-made
Docker image with an integrated wizard  /script with minimal
user interaction. Otherwise it will be ages before adoption.

Really?

What really ? Project ? Ofcourse it is real, now you can mine this coin on you phone or tablet

Have you tried mining on your phone? How many coins you can get per day from your phone? And where I can see rewards distribute? For how many years all coins will be mined?

Yes, many people already mine using android phones, TV boxes, tablets, etc. For certain phone benchmarks, please join the Discord channel #mining
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NKN - New Kind of Network on: June 18, 2019, 09:26:26 PM
this announcement is very unclear.

How come there are going to co-exist:

1. Testnet v0.8
2. Testnet/beta mainnet v0.9
3. Mainnet 1.0

what is the point in staying at 0.8 when you can go straight to 1.0?
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: June 11, 2019, 07:06:33 PM
So we only can make profit from CPU mining if we mine coin with cryptonote technology? What about another coin that does not have privacy feature? Can we still make profit mining it with CPUs?

The only coin I know of which barely touches the CPU and still hashes is JSE coin.
But these days it is a bit less profitable.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: June 08, 2019, 03:18:54 PM
If you not overclock it and temperature is kept within spec, a desktop CPU can run @ 100% usage for a long time.

On the contrary: If you overclock and downvolt at the same time,
you can get more hashrate and spend less for electricity.
As a bonus, you get less noise from the fans and less heat.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: June 04, 2019, 08:38:34 PM
At the present scenario which will be the most profitable coin to mine? I tried a few number of coins but nothing that profitable. Is there any coin that we can make atleast half a dollar per day by mining?

Here is how things are: If you decide to mine a popular currency with a lot of exchanges and value,
it has very high difficulty and very small reward (Monero for example).

If you want to mine something else, you are going to a "speculative mining".
This means you pick a coin or a project in which you believe, start mining
for months or years without clear understanding what is going to happen
and if you are going to earn something.
Then start selling on shady exchanges with high fees and very low volume.

So the only certainty you can have is to join some of the coin teams
and push the project forward yourself to ensure profit at some point.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2019 and CPU Mining Guides [UPDATED!] on: May 31, 2019, 06:45:29 PM
Want to start mining with my spare DL380 Gen9 Server with 2X Xeon E5-2620V2 and 64GB of RAM

there will be no electricity as it is working on a facility supplied with CHP (cogeneration supply system)

do you have something to show me where to start ? i also would like to know what hashrate can i get with this CPUs.

Start off by picking the best CPU coin for you.
Since you are going to use a single server, pick a coin you can trust,
because you will be mining atleast a year to earn some decent number of coins.

After this just download the miner for this coin and run it under Windows or Linux
backup your wallet keys and check it in a year.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 【ANN】 ✅ LETHEAN ✅ - Secure, Anon & Fast P2P-VPN-Network backed by the Blockchain on: May 13, 2019, 08:41:10 AM
If it reaches new highs of 1 dollar, that would be 4000 dollars.

If your granny was male, you wouldn't even exist Cheesy

You are obviously drifting off my point. Which is: the bounty is cheap.
Not a year ago, not in ten years, but now.

Here is my observation on the project so far for the last year:

Nice vision with clear goal. All the user/investor mass is latent.
THe reason for this is the lack of enthusiasm and passion from devs.
Devs are progressing very very slowly. They are either lazy
or they do it just for fun, they don't have the proper skills or most probably:
they do this part time, after they have a minute left after a hard work day
after the wife and kids leave them alone for a minute.

I can understand that. It is normal. However, it is not enough to get the project to a working state.
The changes in the crypto world and networking world happen faster then the Lethean project.
Before it was Intense, now it is Lethargic.

If development continues with the same pace, either China, Russia, Turkey, etc.
will no longer need affordable dVPN, or there will be hundreds of other providers
of such service and it will be too late for Lthn to be the pioneer it is now.

I red in the non-English Discords that people want to get into the project, build a node,
but exit node works differently every time on different computers/distros.
They install, transfer lthn back and forth, build scripts, setup, get frustrated,
ask for help, help arrives late or solution is way more complex then average user can
fix and then they just give up and wait for better times.

I hope you will take this as a constructive critique, as I still believe in this project.
