I think 90% of the coins in circulation come from the premine...mining this is impossibru xD

Lol no it isn't. And you can see exactly how people are doing it. Just watch the replays.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Motocoin - Proof of Play cryptocurrency. IMPORTANT: Update your wallet!!! on: May 28, 2014, 09:16:19 PM
5945 - do you even need to touch the keyboard to complete this?  Grin
P.S.: block was not mine, just watching some replays
We may need to change level generation algorithm to prevent such levels.

To get a level like that means pressing f6  a hell of a lot of times unless you are extremely lucky. I think things are working perfectly.

Lol Judgecrypto I read your blog on how to know you are a bagholder......
The shoe fits. Uncomfortably.

I have been a bag holder several times over.  Smiley

That is one of the reasons I am so supportive of Silk Coin.  When I saw a real team dedicated to crypto and creative development I wanted to be a part of it.   Since they have invited me into their inner circle I have witnessed the dedication to their vision.  This coin is not just a copy / paste coin.  It started as a core group and now includes a growing community.  When I started I was impressed with the coin, the technical innovation, and the roadmap ahead.  I believed that the technical piece would be the coins strength.  After seeing the community and core team come together I think I was mistaken.  The community is turning out to be its biggest strength.  Now if you combine that with a creative and innovative dev team, then the moon is not the limit, but rather a starting point!

Judge Crypto...

PS... I sent you 25 Silk... I hope that makes you bag a little lighter! Smiley

Cool. Thanks!
Was surprised to see my balance update with 25 SC and it happened at about the same time I staked as well!

Silkcoin feels like it is getting ready to pounce.
Looking at the website, the wallet and the dev posts I can't help but feel that there is potential here that a lot of the bitcoin community is not noticing yet
or... I'm missing something.

The only thing I can't decide is if the "silk" association will work in favor or against.

Everything seems to work as advertised and I can't help but support this.

Silkcoin.

186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Motocoin-should we increase block mining speed to make playing more interesting? on: May 27, 2014, 06:05:56 AM
4875 was quite good.

I'm a bit confused though I got 4870 2h ago and we are only at 4875 now? Is there a way to see how many ppl are playing and what the average block time find is?
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Motocoin-should we increase block mining speed to make playing more interesting? on: May 27, 2014, 06:01:29 AM
I don't understand this thread. How is it easier to mine with less time for each block? Winning is easy enough already.

The block time target is 5min at the moment. To try and get the games hard enough so ppl only solve it every 5 min the game is shortening the time available to play. At the moment 26 secs. This is working and blocks are found slower now than 2 days ago when they were found every minute or so.
At block 8000 we are now changing to a shorter expected block time 1 min likely instead of 5 min. This means the game won't keep shrinking the clock to try and retard players. This emans that people will have more time to solve, making it easier and so blocks will be found every minute. I expect that the clock will hover around 30 secs.

If you think it is easy now then you are one of the lucky ones. Ride and make coins!
Lucky? Nah, I'm an Elasto Mania player. Thanks for explanation, that clears it.

Although... with 30sec limit there were lots of unskilled luck finishes. 26sec is actually a bit challenging and you can't just flop down to the coin however.

I think with shorter time you need more luck. You have to get a map that is possible to finish and that depends on luck. With more time you would be more reliant on skill. The race would be to finish your map the fastest rather than hope for a map that kind of finishes itself.

Look at replay 4871 for example.. basically a straight road to the coin. The only skill there is not completely messing up the lucky map you got.

Nice idea with playing a game in order to get some coins.
But all coins are premined, how to ensure the fairness?

What the hell are you talking about? You mine by playing the game.. there was the tiniest of premines to pay the dev. If you are good at the game and spend as much time playing as dev did programming I'm sure you will get the same amount of coins as dev has.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Motocoin - Proof of Play cryptocurrency. IMPORTANT: Update your wallet!!! on: May 27, 2014, 04:53:33 AM
Are we going for 1 min blocks or something shorter?
Obviously, it depends on playming activity... More people play, less target time to solve each block.

What I mean is the target block time which determines difficulty. Now it is 5min which means the game time is 26 secs to make it more difficult and still blocks are found in less than 5 min. If the target is 1 min then the game time will likely still be between 20 and 30 secs.

It seems that 26.468 secs is 0.5 secs too quick for me every time!
This has been happening so many times.

Network rules will be changed after block 8000 (one block in one minute).
Update your client

nice.

Are we going for 1 min blocks or something shorter?
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All aboard! Who have you convinced to step on the BTC Train? on: May 27, 2014, 01:54:07 AM
I convinced some friends that Bitcoin is a good idea. One bought some at the worst possible time and then couldn't get it out of Mtgox.
I felt so bad that I bought them from him and lost a lot of money in the process.

Now I am a bit more wary. I will tell ppl about it if they ask. I also tell them there is a lot of fraud and that it seems that most people in Bitcoin don't actually see the larger picture at all.
They don't see how we all live better than kings would have 100 y ago and how advancement of humanity through technology has helped all of us. They don't see the possibilities of what the world could look like 100 years from now with the help of technologies like bitcoin. The way I see it humanity is one organism of which we are all part. The internet is a new nervous system that is being developed and cryptocurrency is a part and function of that organ. People believe in conspiracy theories because they can't zoom out their perspective to see that all of this is happening very organically and on a scale that is beyond any single or group of individuals.
Fraud and lies is like a cancer on all of us and the small minded who live in fear and inferiority cheat and steal.

That is why we should treasure the people who design and build like Satoshi Nakamoto.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HOC] ★ HouseofCoins CONFIRMED SCAM! on: May 27, 2014, 01:33:20 AM
bitoffer[he no longer uses that name] asked me if i wanted to take over the hoc coin. he said he can give me twitter, bitcointallk, domain ownership. I did some wallet work for him and some other things. I told him it does not look like there are enough people interested to try and bring it back to life. If someone is going to take over hoc it needs to be someone who is passionate about the coin, and im probably not the right person for the task.

The crux of the matter is the coinbank. What has he done with the BTC that everyone invested. This was never supposed to be his for the taking. If he will transfer the BTC to someone else or put it in escrow then I am sure interest in HOC will return immediately and we could continue where we left off.

he did not say he would transfer me the coinbank. i think he would have mentioned that if he intended to. he sent this message to me awhile ago and im just now getting around to seeing it. I'm probably going to pass, but i can let him know if someone else is interested.

Without the coinbank, HOC is just a fraud and scam perpetrated by BitOffer. In your reply to him please mention to him that he has now joined the ranks of all the people who make the world a crappier place rather than a better place to live in. Good riddance. For a moment I was thinking that my initial assessment of Bitoffer as someone with vision and integrity might be right after all.

Now I am ashamed of my support of BitOffer and would like to apologize to everyone for the initial excitement that I shared about this project, especially if it influenced anyone into joining.

A pool would bring in players, think about it, if you have a chance to get paid and only have to get near the coin wouldn't you play on that pool? Its better than trying all day and not getting a single coin.

The system will regulate itself.
With 20 coins reward and shorter block time more people will already play than now. How many people do we need playing the game to make it work? 100 ?1000 ?10 000 ?100 000
People will need to sleep and eat and will stop playing of it gets too frustrating which means the number of players will keep fluctuating and self regulating.

If 1000 ppl are all playing the game and a block is found every minute then only a max of 60 of those will get a coin/hour.
Which means that the people who have anger issues will smash their PC screen.
Now we only have 200 ppl playing. Which means that maybe everyone can find a coin every 3 hours. But this is in the future where the coins are worth $100 each. So then I decide this is not worth my time, I can go back to being a prostitute because I was making more money and it was also less frustrating, I need less coordination. This leaves only 50 or so people playing and they are all happy because the game just got easier and less competitive! Then the sun rises over China and suddenly 1 mil players get on their PC's with super fast reflexes and nerves of steel. Now the rest of the world gives up and goes to bed. Tomorrow we will try again.

I like the concept of this game but I do have a concern: it's possible to play it and never get a block, right? Because of how it works, you aren't necessarily EVER going to get a reward, whereas someone else could get a lot of them.

Is anything being done to resolve this?

Yes: you practice more and get better at the game and then you wait until you get a bit of luck and there you go you get a coin! Congratulations.
Or post your address in sig and I will send you one.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Motocoin-should we increase block mining speed to make playing more interesting? on: May 26, 2014, 10:45:32 PM
Another idea
1 block=5min
everyone who wins within one block (5 min) gets reward: 100MOTO divided on the number of winners
example: block 5345 starts from 16:35 to 16:40
In this block 6 players made 10 wins: 1 player made 4 wins, 1 player made 2 wins, other 4 players made 1 win, so 1-st receive 40 MOTO, 2-nd 20 MOTO, other 4 get 10 MOTO each.
If it was usual game with central server then something like this would be possible, but this is cryptocurrency, so there are some limitations in what we can do. What you propose is very complicated for p2p system. Sounds like P2Pool but built in cryptocurrency itself.

Actually a pool is feasible. Have the game pull work from a user designated server instead of the wallet. Everyone who trys to solve the map during any block gets a cut of the block even if they didn't finish, its split between anyone attempting to solve the map with an added bonus to the one who solves it first. We just need the game to report even if they didn't fully complete the level so that the pool knows they were playing and knows to pay them.

Why does anyone want to make a pool for this? Why are we even discussing this?

The way it works at the moment I think WilliamLie's solution will get more people into the game which is a good thing.
After a time this will get saturated and those who feel it is worth their time will play and those who can spend their time doing something else (like making hamburgers, or being a doctor, building a house) will do that and earn money and buy the coins instead.
The players in the end won't do it because its "fair" or fun, they will do it because it is an income and protects the coin. Don't forget the purpose of the game in the end is to act as the crypto for this cryptocurrency.

Need to remove stop-game-when-Target-Time-ends
Reward 100 coins if finish time < TT
Reward  20 coins if finish time > TT
is it possible?

There are many complains that with lower target time game becomes less interesting, you just press F6 many times to find simpler level. To fix that we can increase block mining speed, current target is 1 block in 5 minutes but we can set it to 1 block in minute and decrease reward per block to 20 coins.
There will be some block after which new rules will become active. I will update client to use new rules. Also I wil send alert, so that everyone with old client will see warning saying that they should update their client.

What do you think? Should we do this?

Thanks for Motocoin WilliamLie2, it has been great watching the launch and how things developed.
I think  it's a good idea to change the reward since it will make more people play for now. We will inevitably get to a stage where the "normal" person won't invest the time to play the game due to too much competition and difficulty, but that can not be avoided.

Effectively this is a massive multiplayer competitive online game with real life rewards. It is a weird thought that everytime I nab a coin there are people all around the world gnashing their teeth and kicking their chairs (just like I do when I am about to get a coin and the level changes!)
What frustration! What elation when you get one!

Great work.
