181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] - A Professional Cryptocurrency ✈ Android Wallet ✔ on: January 24, 2014, 09:17:29 AM
mining perspective:

1MHS=5.245 coins/day
1MHS=$11.66/day
DGB value=BTC0.0000028/DGB or $0.00222306/DGB

Maybe my math is off, but if you are getting 5,245 coins/day with 1 MH/s, you might want to look for a new pool, even with the increases in difficulty.

What do i do if my computer crashes when i have my DIGI on my windows wallet?

Assuming your not talking about a harddrive failure all you have to do is restart the windows wallet. It will pick up where it was last at.

Exactly what xploited said ^^^^

If it IS a hard disk failure, that is a key example of why backing up your wallet, in a SECURE place, is always recommended.  a thumb drive works nicely Smiley

i am panicking because I follow and thought DGB was good buy, bought in .4BTC worth at 290 satoshi and now all my savings from trading/mining jus poofed away =(

all I can do now is keep mining and hope for the best? any advices other than just telling me to hold and hold?

EDIT: Hey dev, any good news? Just a curious mini investor

I think it was phenomenal buy, even at 290, easily -> but I am no expert.
If your going to watch the market and make emotional decisions you need to turn it off and go play ping pong or something Smiley
the thing is, I only have managed to acumulate 0.4BTC and this is my first real investment, if this goes to moon I will be a happy investor, if this doesnt then i'm going to sell my rig and call it a fun adventure into crypto =/

"Only 0.4btc" is just under $400.  How much and how fast were you hoping to print money? Grin

If anyone is looking to spread around the hash,

we have been mining over @ DGB.Get-By.com since the launch of DigiByte.

MPOS + Stratum, auto-payouts and all that jazz.

New miners are always welcome Smiley

hey guys look this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.0 ask for DigiByte to be listed! coinmarketcap!
CoinMarketCap is, in my opinion, a bad idea.  Many coin-hoppers/speculators use that site and a couple others to judge the best coin to mine and dump.

Just logged in, by the way.  Seems the market has been busy Grin

We have been mining away @ DGB.Get-By.com since the launch of DigiByte.

New miners are always welcome, but please be sure to sign-up with a unique PIN, username and password that you have never used on another service or pool.

40,000 banned attacker IP addresses and counting Grin
That sucks, few peepz may be actually interested into mining but they got infected...well i know it's their fail. but it kinda sucks...

LOLWAT?

Language barrier Smiley

I don't think think the word you were looking for was "infected", lol.

Certainly there have been NO "infections" at my pool.

Further-more, I have reimbursed those affected despite the issue being user error!

According to the stats on luckyminers pool, we have 75% of the hashrate right now.... but they only received 33% of the blocks last hour.

I was getting ready to move pools, but this seems absurdly low if they actually have that percentage of the network hashrate.

What are other pools showing as the total hashrate of the network right now?

It is floating around 650 or so.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] DigiByte Lottery changes?? on: January 22, 2014, 12:12:13 PM
I will re-post here what I posted at the 'lottery' thread:

As far as I am aware, this Lottery is NOT official or supported by the Development Team of the DigiByte crypto-currency.

I would warn users to be especially mindful of contributing DigiBytes to this lottery as there is nothing what-so-ever preventing the operators from simply taking the proceeds and disappearing.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] - A Professional Cryptocurrency ✈ On Coin Market ✔ on: January 22, 2014, 11:46:07 AM
If anyone has a great idea on to what the best way to do the lottery is please let us know. We ourselves were thinking of a fair & transparent way to do this.

1. Payout at least 95%
2. Only accept tickets from users here in the board that created an account more than 2 weeks ago (otherwise the creator of the lottery could easily set up a new account himself that wins)
3. Let digibyte announce the winner
4. Reveal how the draw will be done to prove randomness

1. Why not make it 101% payout  Smiley
2. Great - so about 3 people will buy tickets??
3. He is now.
4. Yeah, put it on CNN

 Grin

Any of those dice games or bet races give me a higher chance to win, so no reason for me and many others to participate. The USDE lottery even paid out more than that.Wink

And I believe that all of my 4 points are valid points, but your replies have shown that you do not want to take them serious and even made fun about it, so my little trust in this is now completely gone. Smiley

Maybe, I will start my own lottery where all those 4 points will apply.

I can't see that you even have a single valid point, all I see is that you would like to steal my idea. Please stop trolling, your close to being a Gingermod2.

Those dice games are set up for ALL of you to lose against the "house". They are meant to be played again and again and again in a short period of time and you lose a little almost all the time. If you play that boring dicegame for an hour you will probably have lost 95% of your funds - giving a payout in real termes of 5%. Play the dicegame with 50,000 DGB for an hour and your left with 2,500 DGB, making a loss of 47,500. Any of those dicegames or bet races will make you broke.

Play the DigiByte Lottery on the other hand and you may win up to 300,000 DGB.

Dice games have an house edge of 2-4%, means an 48% that doubles your bet, so the expected outcome is 0.92-0.96DGB for each 1 DGB bet.You are offering a payout of 80%, so the expected outcome is 0.8DGB for each DGB that I bet.

It is simple as that. Neither dice games, nor your lottery makes anyone richer on average, but yours is even worse. truin was so nice to do the above calculation in detail.

By the way, I am not stealing your idea. You are stealing the idea from the USDE board. I wonder why DigiByte even trusts you - would not be surprised if you just keep all the DGB without drawing anything with those kind of respect-less posts in this thread.

As the last couple of pages filled this thread with this pointless and scammy-looking lottery, it damages even the reputation of this coin. And if you take a closer look into my signature, you can be assured that I only want the best for this currency.

The next time I see the Dev around in the IRC, I will encourage him to stop promoting this lottery the way it is. I really see my support for this coin at risk if DigiByte keeps supporting this.

As far as I know, DigiByte/Tate/The Devs do not support the Lottery.  There was a request for them to roll the random number and they agreed figuring some oversight is better than no oversight.  That was, of coarse, before this whole tirade Sad

Ok Ok Ok.

Enough "sleazebags" and hate, please  Cry Cry

I honestly absolutely love the idea of you doing a lottery.  I really do!

When I first read it, I considering buying a ticket myself just for an excuse to pop it back to the top of the sub-forum.

It wasn't until I noticed that the title and colors and wording made it look exactly like the main thread that it started to worry me!

What is so hard about being on the up-and-up and making sure there isn't any connotations of "official" support???
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] - A Professional Cryptocurrency ✈ On Coin Market ✔ on: January 22, 2014, 10:56:37 AM
Oh, so it IS an official lottery of DGB Devs and your not making any profit at all on the lottery?

Lol, I never claimed I did this for free. People should get something for putting in a lot of time and effort - do you work for free?? Even the guy who did the German "translation" on Google translate got paid 250,000 DGB for his 5 min. of "work".

The dicegames and bet races are complete ripoffs though. In comparison I believe the lottery is fair as it now stands considering risk/reward

That is all good and fine, but you are making 20% profit if my math serves me.  Welcome to capitalism, that is not my primary concern.

My primary concern is that this is NOT an OFFICIAL DigiByte Lottery and you are MISLEADING in your title of the lottery as THE DigiByte Lottery.

Please correct any misleading statements about Dev support, involvement, or the OFFICIAL status of this lottery.  The Devs accepting an offer to roll a random number for the draw does NOT = official or support.

And that includes in your OP post @ topic: 423204.

What would you call it then, I don't really see the problem. The dev team haven't complained. It's THE lottery on the DigiByte thread. This isn't North Korea you know, where the leaders do and decide EVERYTHING.

The first 21 characters of the thread title are IDENTICAL to the OP launch post for this coin.  That is misleading at best, fraudulent at worst.  There needs to be a large unmistakable statement at the top of your thread and posts declaring that the lottery is NOT official.

The Devs are currently busy working on, wait for it......... Developing.  I am certain you will see a comment in the near future asking similar changes for them.  In the meantime, if it doesn't change in the next ten minutes I am reporting it to the moderators of this sub-forum.

It isn't personal, look at my other posts.  I tend to be a positive person.  There is just too much potential for abuse in this situation.

Are you for real, you crack me up LOL. Do whatever you want. I'm not changing anything. Do your worst LOL. Could be worth a laugh.

I don't see anything wrong with the current format.

I'm somewhat dis-heartened by the levity of your comments.  There have been a great number of scams and thefts in this community and it should not be taken lightly or in jest.

I have reluctantly reported your thread, despite the fact that I absolutely love it when people want to promote this coin, even if it is for monetary gain.

If you want to complain about something, complain about the ripoff dicegames. That's a complete scam whatever way you look at it. This is mainly for fun and for promoting the coin and for creating some excitement and buzz for the coin.

Btw. the devs aren't THAT bussy, they comment here all the time, he has also commented on the lottery.
I dont really get your resentment for the lottery, are you a part of the dicegame scam or something??

I own no dice game sites or gambling businesses whatsoever.  I have simply been participating in this thread since before the launch of DigiBytes and care that some of the people I have grown to enjoy their company have the potential to be robbed.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] First DIGI-LOTTERY - WIN UP TO AN AMAZING 300,000 DGB on: January 22, 2014, 10:47:31 AM

The Development Team is drawing 1.Prize
Which does not remove your control of the wallet or ability to remove the funds at anytime.

"Creativecuriosity has been banned from participating in the lottery ever."

Doesn't change the fact that this lottery operates at a 20% profit, copies the exact first 21 characters of the Development Team's thread, and is run by a user who has less seniority even than me, who joined only a couple weeks ago.

usually paypal won't deal with crypto's at all Sad

The problem is that crypto's are nearly instant and non-reversible.  Where-as PayPal is reversible.
