Its decentralized nature makes it as a perfect medium under the dark web for illegal transactions. Those are some of my opinions regarding its disadvantages but the advantages of using bitcoin in the community supersede all of those what I stated. I believe that Bitcoin will be in the end replaced by some sort of more advanced digital money system. I am certain of it.
But most likely we won't see this change during our lifetime. I expect bitcoin to be alive and kicking for at least 50+ years.
Worrying about bitcoin's potential replacements and altcoins which can be viewed as BTC 2.0 is dumb idea anyway.
I think it can happen much earlier, because bitcoat technology is the first and the most not perfect, 50+ years is a huge time, everything changes much faster so I do not exclude the fact that within 5-10 years there will be a change or even a replacement bitcoin |
