181  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bitfury is looking for alpha-testers of first chips! FREE MONEY HERE! on: March 03, 2014, 11:58:21 PM
I seem to have missed the info on the rev 2 chips, does anyone have the specs or test results yet?

If I bought a Black Arrow Prospero X-3, assuming the difficulty is 10Billion in May, how long could I remain profitable if it ran 24/7? (Energy Cost: .09USD/kWh)
ROI is relative to the currency you used to pay for the miner. It will take a lot longer to get A positive ROI if you paid in BTC compared to USD as the BTC/USD it generally expected to rise. coinwarz.com has useful calculators, I tend to work on $USD/day figures.

72.5% hashpower on 1gh.... going on fork soon... Was great run, now its over as miners can't understand to spread their power around pools. We're making money only to one pool and destroying ourselves. Have fun watching it dying.
Why would it fork? With 72.5% of the hash power it is the main fork, it's not going to fork again.

Hi, I was wondering, MaxCoin has really dropped in price a lot, to a level where I am thinking of buying some.

Is there currently a problem with the coin? Or is this simply a dip?

Thanks.
Until people do something with the coin, eg. some useful services start accepting it, then there is no demand other than  from hoarders. You need demand to keep the price stable or it will just fall as supply doesn't stop, a fatal design flaw in all crypto, supply doesn't adjust to demand.

Coins should adjust their block rewards based on and averaged value of transactions over a given period of time. So if people are just mining and moving them to an exchange, the number of coins from a new mined block should reduce until transaction volume rises.

Just did some calculations and if the difficulty rises to what it's expected to be at (19,637,607,557) in May 2014, the X1 won't be profitable at all. Will probably go with the AntMiner S1
AntMiner are smart, they adjust their sell price as the diff goes up.

Also does anyone know at what point internet speed can become a bottleneck? How much bandwidth is gonna be used at 2TH/s?
It's a function of the pool difficulty setting, higher diff less bandwidth.

Anyone know why the tape out was delayed by so many months? One moment I am reading batch #1 to ship 24th. Feb, next moment people are wondering if tape out will be by 24th. Feb. That's an extraordinary delay which would have been known about months ago.

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Low Hash- Gigabyte HD 7970(R797OC-3GD) BIOS Flash Help on: February 14, 2014, 10:56:01 PM
you dont need to bios flash. scrypt mining is strange voodoo and requires a magic combination of core speed, memory speed, thread concurrency, intensity, and -g switches to get the optimum hashrate without hw errors. The only way to do this is trial and error.

wouldn't flashing allow him to undervolt and raise mem and gup??

That is my take on it as pretty sure that is my issue right now? oh to flash or not to flash
\

gigabyte triple fan gpus are voltage locked, period. no amount of software changes or bios changes will change the voltage. it's hardware locked because gigabyte is too cheap to to put components on the PCB that allow the user to change voltage. unless you have multimeter probe reading or kill-a-watt reading to prove me wrong, this is what I will continue to believe and spread.

This is not true, with the F62 BIOS it will go down to 0.95v if you set --gpu-engine 700 in cgminer. At 701 it will be 1.2V and at 1001 it will be 1.25V

Update: 2-Chip Evaluation Board Reference Design published by Bitmine

I have been approached numerous times from designers asking for a A1 reference design. Today, Bitmine added their 2-chip eval board design to their GitHub repository.

We used this board for initial verification - it runs with the provided cgminer driver as is over RPi's SPI interface.

That's great news, I hope someone starts making the 2 chip boards for the low end of the market.

Microcash would be treated as just another alt.

I think DOGE is getting added sometime today.

I mean if it's good enough for the Chinese exchanges.

I'm loving BlackArrow's Australian reseller, 'BitMiners'.

Trying to offload BFL 60Gh/s http://bitminers.com.au/refurbished-mining-equipment/ for $2345 AUD ($2097.13 USD).

Flogging the Prospero X-3 (the 'may batch') http://bitminers.com.au/product/product-one/ for $8847 AUD ($7911.87 USD). 25% markup (without 10% import tax/duty).

OR

Prospero X-3 purchased directly from BlackArrow and shipping 'soon,' apparently, (This product will be available on 30 Apr 2014) for $6652.30 AUD ($5949.15 USD) + 10% import duty = $7317.53 AUD ($6544.07 USD).

Their prospero X1 price is a bit high $997 AUD how do they work that out?
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: arOpenCLMAX v0.1b - MAX coin OpenCL miner - Works with AMD, NVIDIA XPT on: February 10, 2014, 08:33:34 PM
Stratum support coming soon. YPool is most likely bringing back MAX within a few days. New update will have an AMD optimized kernel (not sure yet)

Great!

And linux source code?
Source code is very important.

One thing people might not have noticed about the GHz cards, is if you reduce the engine clock down to 1000Mhz, the firmware will reduce the core voltage down from 1.256v to 1.2volts. That may help some people with cooling problems.
Ya I was just mapping the defaults out this past week, and here's what I got:

0.85V is anything 450MHz and below
0.90V is 451-600MHz
0.95V is 601-700MHz
1.20V is 701-1000MHz
1.256V is anything 1001MHz and above

I'm running it at 700/550/0.95V cuz I'm sick of the fan noise/heat in my bedroom, and it's almost the same profit (after deducting electric costs). Now obviously if I use MSI AB I can force a voltage, and find a higher clock stable at each setting. For example, my card is stable at 900MHz @ 950mV, which is 200MHz higher than the default 0.95V settings (or 0.25V lower than the default settings for 900MHz, depending on how you're looking at it).

Is there any BIOS for the card that can give you voltages between 0.95V and 1.2V? Seems quite a gap.

This is where the official record seems to be, not that anything is ever official, it does matter here as the way bobsag will get money is if BA gives it to him to give to us. So I think this thread is very appropriate place to pose the question, which has been asked numerous times, not only by myself, and never answered with a definitive yes or no

I have following problems with cgminer and GUI wallet

cgminer crashes every offten

windows wallet-qt crashes whenever i launches

Anyone know how to fix them

The cgminer problem seems to vary from pool to pool. Like when a stratum disconnects or similar it may crash. Fine a stable pool and it runs for hours.

Wallet works fine for me under Windows 7 32bit not a crash so far.

Since you're here, why don't you provide us with an update. What progress has been made in the last week?

Last week was Chinese New Year, most of the company was off work.
Anyway, we have completed the pinout of the chip, made some progress on the case but has not been completed.

I remember post after post about how you guys would not be affected by the CNY, care to comment why "most of the staff" had off when you previously said it wouldn't affect you guys?

Also since a yes or no answer was never given, will minersource be giving refunds, yes or no?
Need an answer to this as well, blackarrow.
Ask minesource they are not black arrow, they are just resellers.

thanks for getting rid of that clown phin.

now, WHAT IS THE STATUS OF TAPEOUT? WHAT HAPPENED TO A WEEKLY UPDATE?

Tapeout is on 20 Feb 2014.

Weekly update will be on Wednesday / Thursday when our new "press officer" arrives here.

Fingers crossed.

Value at 0.0022 BTC. Better trade your MAX coin now before ZERO Value.  Cry
Yeah just like all the other crypto coins that have gone to zero value....oh wait there hasn't been any.
