Looks like Sprouts has got two active threads going: the old; and the new. This one; and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1103868.0

Let's stay focused and choose one, or the other. So, which should we post on? Maybe there should be  regular reminders pointing to the official page. Thank you.   Smiley

@ Kiklo

I agree with you. There is much manipulation going on in the markets and skullduggery going on elsewhere. With Zeitcoin, all the technicals are there and Zeitcoin has a great community, including your good self. But maybe there are a lot of clueless people out there who don't know about Zeitcoin.

If that is so, the question becomes: how do we get the Zeit message through to them?

The latest batch of shitcoins being consigned to the oblivion they deserve...

C-CEX.com exchange news!

We have to free up server resources for new coins by delisting some coins which have consistently low trading volume.
The following coins will be removed on 10.12.2015 if their average trading volume for the last month has not exceeded 0.2 BTC/day (or 6 BTC for last 30 days):

Alexium Coin [AUM], Botcoin [BOT], BreakCoin [BRE], BowsCoin [BSC], Bubble [BUB], CarbonCoin [CARB], CryptBit [CBIT], SolarFarm Asset [CELL], ChipCoin [CHIP], CrevaCoin [CREVA], Cryptotarget [CRT], DeltaCredits [DCR], Darkether [DETH], DayTraderCoin [DTC], EbolaShare [EBS], FujiCoin [FJC], GhostlyCrypto [GHOUL], IslaCoin [ISL], LiteStarCoin [LTS], MapCoin [MAPC], NetworkCoin [NETC], OKcash [OK], ParanoiaCoin [PARA], PeopleCoin [PEO], Rimbit [RBT], Radon [XRDN], ResumeoShares [RMS], SkullBuzz [SKB], TenneT [TNNT], TrickyCoin [TRICK], UCoin , UniversalCurrency [UNIT], VectorCoin [VEC], Viral [VIRAL], XDECoin [XDE], Pharma [XPH]

Please, trade, sell or withdraw these coins before removal date, after which retrieval of any remaining balances for these coins will not be possible anymore.

Thank You for using our exchange!
Sincerely, C-CEX.com Team.
I agree with your statement, but just to be fully precise Lion: not all of the coins that were listed on c-cex exchange do agree with their policy of charging you the 0.2% out of 6BTC per 30 days to stay afloat. I believe ZEIT community was also against paid exchanges and in a very hypothetical case of being initially listed there and having not enough monthly volume, ZEIT would not take the fight either. So be careful, as same arguments may be used against you. Just my 2 ZEITs  Wink

On the other note, I must admit I stopped liking Cryptsy after they had problems with my ZEIT deposits for the very first time earlier this year. I hope they will go where they deserve and meanwhile we will find new, equivalent in volume exchange, that will provide us with the BTC pairing.

Precision isn't in my brief

I leave that to Ray & Kiklo.

I think my point is that there are still FAR too many shitcoins coming & going, which means far too many people losing money to crooked devs who are only in it for a quick buck. This does none of us any good.

Just look at the names of most of those coins!

I mean - How the HELL did anyone take something like 'SkullBuzz' or 'EbolaShare' seriously in the first place?

Are 'people' really that stupid?

No, don't answer that.

Sad

Aw c'mon Lion. Lighten up!

How could you say that about EbolaShare? If accepting Crypto became universal can you imagine paying people who are chasing you for money with EbolaShare?  "Here have some Ebola, now **** off."  Puts a whole new meaning to 'toxic debt'.

I'd love to buy a small amount just for the fun of it, but the Dev seems to have disappeared. The website is still maintained  https://ebolashare.github.io/ and the forum is still up-and-running https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=853242.880, but I suppose you are right ... who in their right mind would possibly buy into EbolaShare?

Now I know you won't believe this, and I checked this a minute ago, the EbolaShare Buy wall on C-cex has this Buy order for 26,971 Ebolas:

Price per EBS          EBS amount             BTC amount
0.00000345            26971.96521739       0.09305328

345 Satoshis for just one EbolaShare and Zeitcoin struggling to keep its head above one Satoshi. ¿Dónde está la justicia? Makes you wonder whether Ray and all the community are doing something wrong. Maybe he should do a runner and not be so precious about the Zeit and Time connection, ... and change the spelling a little.

Seriously though, I wonder what the way forward for Zeitcoin is? Do we have one more last try to sell it to The Zeitgeist Movement again, ... or some similar organisation?

And then there are the cosmetics: Is it possible to graft Zeitcoin onto an entirely new Zeitcoin Blockchain, where 10,000,000 Old Zeitcoins are worth 1 New Zeitcoin? Or, just transfer all Zeitcoin onto a new Blockchain on a one-to-one basis? That would keep the freshness and do away with any excessive Blockchain bloat that could materialise over the next couple of years.

I wonder where the future lies?

Personally, I like the price. Let it bleed!

All I'd like to see is a definite announcement on applying a gradual inflation break, starting early next year.

Help for Windows XP users

In the previous Sprouts thread some people using Windows XP have reported the "Error: Couldn't open socket for incoming connections (socket returned error 10047)" pop-up when opening the Sprouts wallet. This is because the "Microsoft TCP/IP version 6" protocol is not generally pre-installed in XP (it is with Windows 7 and higher). While this is a common error and you can just ignore it, it is dead easy to correct. What you have to do is find your Network Connections Folder and add the listed "Microsoft TCP/IP version 6" protocol. Here's how to do it:

From your [DESKTOP] screen,
click on the [START] button in the bottom left hand corner. Then
click on [CONTROL PANEL]. Then
double click on [NETWORK CONNECTIONS]. Then
double click on the active [LOCAL AREA CONNECTION] icon, or the active [WIRELESS NETWORK] icon for a wireless connection. Then
in the General Tab click on the [PROPERTIES] button. Then
click on the [INSTALL] button. Then
click on the [PROTOCOL] icon so that it is highlighted. Then
click on the [ADD] button. Then
click on the listed ["Microsoft TCP/IP version 6"] protocol so that it is highlighted. Then
click on the [OK] button.
Wait for it to install. The [GENERAL] tab window will reappear.
Close all the open windows and you are done. No more 10047 error pop-ps!

This solution will also work on the wallets of other altcoins, running on Windows XP, showing the same, annoying "Error: Couldn't open socket for incoming connections (socket returned error 10047)" pop-up.

The only problem is that prices on Cryptsy are coming out at around 20% higher than Bittrex and other exchanges.

That's some Mt. Gox crap right there. Inflate value, steal BTC, claim "problems with withdrawals" (or hackers stole them), transfer BTC to a wallet stored somewhere outside of U.S., cash out, close exchange, live like a champ and not give a care in the world that other people lost money in the scam.

You might be right, but I think that the general price rise has come about by a mass exodus of people panic-buying altcoins to get their BTC out of Cryptsy. I've made many Support requests in the past - as we all have had to do with Cryptsy - but I've never had an option given to me that Cryptsy could cancel my withdrawal request internally, because of problems with BTC.

Bitcoin suffered malleabilty attacks in early October that were of such a magnitude that they were reported in the mainstream media worldwide. The Ddos attacks and Cryptsy going offline happened from November 22nd onwards. Now the problems with BTC at Cryptsy. I wonder if they are connected and whether Cryptsy have acquired a mountain-load of duff BTC?

193000 hbn for now, i trying to have 200000 Grin
average price around 2800  i bought a lot in october above 3500sat
bset price i got is 1601

last week i notice no lot buyers so price where going fast down

do you think there are people with 1millions hbn ?
sometimes i see a lot of dump they must have collect a lot sins the begin i imagine

I am sure there are some with 1MM. I am not among them.  I think one of the resasons there are not more buy order is because the new issues with Cryptsy. It is hard to get money out so people are less prone to put money in bids.
Cryptsy have told me that they are having problems in processing withdrawal requests for BTC, LTC and BTCD. If anyone has those coins stranded on Cryptsy, and want to get out, convert into other coins. Other crypto withdrawal requests are being processed quickly.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: December 03, 2015, 12:31:47 AM

Class Action Lawsuit Against Bitcoin Exchange Cryptsy

http://www.altcointoday.com/lawsuit-against-cryptsy/

Sobering. I tried to withdraw some Bitcoin from Cryptsy a short while ago. My request was pending for over 12 hours despite issuing Support Tickets. I was eventually told that I had the option of cancelling my BTC request for withdrawal, so I did. Giving me that option made me think I'd better take it and head for the hills. I was also told that Cryptsy are having problems with three coins. Here is what they said:

"We are experiencing a delay when it comes to processing BTC LTC and BTCD withdrawal transactions." (my emphasis).

If anyone has those coins stranded on Cryptsy, the other altcoins are being processed quickly. I converted my BTC into two altcoins and withdrew straight away. The only problem is that prices on Cryptsy are coming out at around 20% higher than Bittrex and other exchanges.

I don't want to repeat the rumours, but this doesn't look good.

Getting on still more exchanges is good, but getting the message out there that this is a fun coin to have is even better. We should then see the Sprouts profile rise as a serious contender. So how do we get the word out?!
Word of mouth? Articles? Chat on altcoin exchanges? Blogs? Human interest stories? Interviews? Social media?
Let's do it!

In my opinion, the POS reward is too great to sustain in the long term. I'm not complaining! However, the promised inflation proofing in the New Year will be a good move. It should ensure the longevity of Sprouts as a powerful, POS interest generator. In the meantime, let's make hay while the sun shines! At the moment the Sprouts coin supply is not that bad and compares favourably with lots of other altcoins e.g:

Coin             Current Coin Supply
Dogecoin ......... 102,049,640,523
Colossuscoin ..... 312,889,440,517

POS is activated after 30 days?

Your coins 'mature' for POS staking after 30 days. If you open your wallet for POS minting after this maturation period, your coins will compete with others to mint. As it stands today, your payout on minting will depend upon the difficulty at the time. See the difficulty payout chart on page 1 of this thread.

Looks like TEK might be dying, there are no more open buy orders for it  Huh
So, not selling might be the best way to preserve HBN now

Why so negative about tek? Why would tek die?

Maybe he's trying engineer himself into a bargain price for Tek, with some plain, old, decent, common garden-variety FUD. Give the lad a break - after all it is Black Friday!
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⒶNN☼SPROUTS☪STEAK CLOUD&BITTREX☯Hi✯PoS💰PoW▒CRYPTOßOT▒PAYSERVICES.COM▒BOUNTIES🚀 on: November 27, 2015, 03:08:59 AM
Cursing myself that I didn't see this Black Friday Sale earlier. Just took out all Sprouts on Bittrex between 81 and 87 Sats; a bite out of Cryptopia at 90 Sats with some loose change; and 37,000 Sprouts on Cryptsy, taking out all Sprouts between 104 Sats and 110 Sats.

I know what you're thinking - I should have transferred my BTC over from Cryptsy to Bittrex to munch on the 87 Sats and higher sell wall, but that would have taken too long, the price was rising, and I couldn't let the blighters get away. Thanks to all those who sold me their Sprouts!  Kiss

I still have a buy order lurking on Cryptsy. If anyone wants to sell any more, you know where to look.

Absolute bargain!  Wink
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - High Fast Stake - Version 1.5. Come on in the water's fine! on: November 26, 2015, 10:44:02 PM
Thanks Tranz. It's good to know that all won't be lost if my machine kicks the bucket. I consider Hobonickels to be the best POS coin on the market, especially when you take into account the innovation, reliability, inflation control being linked to the coin supply, the reasonable, but capped POS return % of interest on coins held, the fairness and ease in staking, ... etc. ... etc. ...and last, but not least, the community and yourself.

The Bitcoin blockchain is currently 48 Gb in size and accellerating away into the Tb zone soon. When Bitcoin becomes far too expensive for ordinary miners to mine, and becomes centralised, as it inevitably will be, I think people will look at the POS coins as being the way forward in providing an efficient and resource-friendly cryptocoin environment. I don't think any other POS coin out there can hold a candle to Hobonickels - and there are still more improvements on the cards. I can see investors heading here in their droves in the not too distant future. I can tell real quality when I see it - and others will too. Yes, I'm certainly in the right place!

@Gribgo

Peace back to you! My comment was based on the general drift of the posts  Roll Eyes. I agree with you, but if Cryptsy went down, that would be a big blow to take. Other posts in this and other threads are giving the impression that Cryptsy is dead and buried. I suspect that just the opposite is the case.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - High Fast Stake - Version 1.5. Come on in the water's fine! on: November 26, 2015, 01:06:20 PM
Just a question about saved wallet.dat files in general:

Say for example the computer, which your wallet is on, conked out, or was stolen, could you transplant your wallet, fully intact, onto a fresh wallet installation and a new computer by simply replacing the new wallet.dat file with your saved wallet.dat file?

I know this is a very basic question, but I've never had to do it and I can't remember seeing anything specific on this.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin Hi-PoS hybrid pos/pow no premine/ipo/ico on: November 26, 2015, 12:39:17 PM
I wouldn't put any trust into Cryptsy's price... or exchange...

TEK will survive though, with or without Cryptsy.

100% true!

Is it really that bad? Some of my best deals have been on Cryptsy. They have been around for a long time. It could be that they are targetted by rivals, or anti-cryptocoin elements. To have suffered so many Ddos attacks shows that they are a threat to someone. One thing though: After every attack so far, they have bounced back.

I certainly have never lost any money using Cryptsy.

Andreas Antonopoulos, world-renowned Bitcoin expert, has said that cryptocoin infrastructures need security attacks, just like the body needs germs and viruses to build immunity. Cryptsy must be bullet-proof by now.

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin Hi-PoS hybrid pos/pow no premine/ipo/ico on: November 25, 2015, 09:11:13 PM
Wow, TEK has no opened buy orders, looks pretty grim

Maybe that was just a blip due to taking wallets offline. There were definitely TEK buy orders there.

Cryptsy was under DDOS last night, that might have been the issue. It was hard to connect and hard to stay connected, and lasted a couple hours. I wasn't trading, so I didn't actually look at wallet status, I was just talking to some of the guys when it was happening.

Cryptsy seems to be OK now, although I've not tried withdrawing anything yet. Just over 12 hours ago I sold 2,785 TEK @ 847 Sats ... eat-your-hearts-out!   Wink

From my trade history:
2015-11-25 08:34:31       Sell  TEK/BTC   0.00000847 BTC   2785.66667355 TEK   0.000000000 BTC   0.02359460 BTC

I had a buy order lurking in the sub 400 Sat zone, over the last couple of days, but nobody bit. Now I really must complain. The standard of FUD in this Tek thread is distinctly lacking.   Angry

ok got all my coins off cryptsy before it was too late thank god! now we'll see how long cryptopia lasts. i still think poloniex should be our next target. big volume over there

Have Cryptsy gone bust? The Cryptsy Buy/Sell trades seem to be operating normally, but I've not tried to withdraw anything yet. I have some coins still in play. The trades might be just cosmetic. Is there a withdrawal problem?

I did see the shutdown a couple of days ago when they suffered a Ddos attack. But Cryptsy are used to this though and normally shake it off like water off a duck's back. Anyone know anything more?
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin Hi-PoS hybrid pos/pow no premine/ipo/ico on: November 24, 2015, 12:41:25 PM
Well, the price of TEK is in the dumpster on Cryptsy...   300 sats range now and dropping...

Maybe because I dumped 100K, but it could also be because others are dumping too.

I still got a huge pile of TEK left, so I guess I'll just keep staking it until the price recovers (if at all).

Hey Glorytime! Throw another 100K at the buy wall will ya? I missed out on the 300 Sat dip and the price has now doubled.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ZEIT] ★ZeitCoin★ COMMUNITY [FULLY POS | 20%] [ZEIT KNIGHTS] on: November 24, 2015, 02:18:42 AM
Again,

you can't check the real balance with different backups with obviously different amounts of zeit.
wallet.dat is a simple local database that can be faulty. We had lots of hardforks in the past.
Different backups can have different keypool sizes. That's why you need your latest wallet.dat.

Please rebuild your transaction index with:
zeitcoin-qt.exe -rescan. (Client version should be 2.0.1.7)
The result is the real amount of your zeitcoins.

or/and

Activate the coin control feature and check your addresses and amounts with a block explorer:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/zeit/

Cheers,
Ray

I just pasted an old back .dat file in the appdata folder, and BAM, my coins were back, so yes, I did something you claim will not work, yet it did Smiley Or maybe I dont understand what you mean??

Glad you got your coins back. I think you were lucky! Let's hope they stay there. If not, try Ray's advice to -rescan.
