Does anybody know how to get this up and running on a PI 2? I have one I would like to use as a node with the hope that it will help my main client resync faster after it's been offline.
Example: My client was 17 hours behind, 3 hours later its still syncing (currently 13h55m behind...) This is just too long, and I hope with a node nearby it will sync faster (I might be completely wrong.) I have great bandwidth, hopefully it will help the network overall.
try limiting the number of connections to 5

try limiting the number of connections to 5 That seems to have fixed it.

try limiting the number of connections to 5 That seems to have fixed it. That may have been it. But... Syncing depends on 3 variables. The most important is the speed of the computer the client is running on. Second to that is the internet speed. This maters more with huge block coins, like BTC, but matters less with small block coins like HBN. Finally the speed of the node sending you blocks, can also affect your syncing speed. So by changing the # of connections, you may have simply got a faster peer to send you blocks. However limiting the number of connections will also use less CPU, so that could also help.

Tranz: By accident found that Cryptopia trades Cap & HBN. Please consider listing in Ann It is always nice to have additional options. Volume is low - if others are like me they just don't know it is an option. Thanks Woody
Cryptopia is a very minor exchange, but a good alternative to Cryptsy. The health of the blockchain, not market price, is the prime consideration for small alts IMO, as the slow process of weeding out the non-survivors proceeds.

The price for crypto currency is pretty volatile. I guess that's hardly news to anyone. So will it go down any further? Probably at some point. As will it go up again at some other point too. The beauty of HBN being a POS coin is the fact that it compensates for future drops in price because the coin is it's own miner by it's minting capability. Apart from that, it comes down to everyone's best judgement to sell or buy.

Looks like TEK might be dying, there are no more open buy orders for it So, not selling might be the best way to preserve HBN now

Just a question about saved wallet.dat files in general:
Say for example the computer, which your wallet is on, conked out, or was stolen, could you transplant your wallet, fully intact, onto a fresh wallet installation and a new computer by simply replacing the new wallet.dat file with your saved wallet.dat file?
I know this is a very basic question, but I've never had to do it and I can't remember seeing anything specific on this.

Yes you can. It is best to use the -rescan startup option if you are fully synced. Hobonickels offers an easier solution because it can read in and keep multiple wallets. So you would just have to rename the wallet to something like wallet-old.dat and then put it in the startup directory. Or browse for it using the load button, or rpc command loadwallet. It should re scan and look for all missing coins. I can take a while but it works!

Thanks Tranz. It's good to know that all won't be lost if my machine kicks the bucket. I consider Hobonickels to be the best POS coin on the market, especially when you take into account the innovation, reliability, inflation control being linked to the coin supply, the reasonable, but capped POS return % of interest on coins held, the fairness and ease in staking, ... etc. ... etc. ...and last, but not least, the community and yourself.
The Bitcoin blockchain is currently 48 Gb in size and accellerating away into the Tb zone soon. When Bitcoin becomes far too expensive for ordinary miners to mine, and becomes centralised, as it inevitably will be, I think people will look at the POS coins as being the way forward in providing an efficient and resource-friendly cryptocoin environment. I don't think any other POS coin out there can hold a candle to Hobonickels - and there are still more improvements on the cards. I can see investors heading here in their droves in the not too distant future. I can tell real quality when I see it - and others will too. Yes, I'm certainly in the right place!

Maybe he's trying engineer himself into a bargain price for Tek, with some plain, old, decent, common garden-variety FUD. Give the lad a break - after all it is Black Friday!

The truth is that I saw 0 buy orders on Cryptsy so I thought the game is over. However, it was just some internal engine error which caused the buy orders not to show. TEK is alive and vibrant!

one of my hbn wallet has trouble
3th time i see this, it s ruining 24/24 but it s not shaking because wallet is synchronizing with the network.. but 12h44 leeft and growing it s clearly not updating
have 14 connection and also have a local node on other computer what has different Internet connection
when i look in traffic window, there is traffic but in peers windows , peers are listed but no one is connected user agent is empty and ping N/A
after wallet reboot it s working again
could it be cpu problem ? if i open task manager it s look like other wallet get priority over hbn , strange because they all running at default priority
when i put hbn to priority obove normal ,it s using more cpu and it s updating faster and i see more disk usage
strange because i have cpu miner running at idle priority and it still mining so it should be enough cpu for hbn wallet
