Umm does the diff retarget seem a bit long to anyone else? 24 hours worth of blocks is a bit insane if you ask me.
Right now the diff is under 1 and the hash at 170k for the network. Isn't that going to leave the dedicated miners in a lurch for a couple days if alot swap off after retarget?
I would think 60 blocks would be way more realistic.

Yes, you right, this is reasonable. We're thinking to modify retarget time, but not right now. It's not a good time for a hard fork :-)

Dear miners and traders,

We're working hard to make execoin more and more popular and to add it to major exchanges. But we need some help from you to promote Execoin in cryptocoin community. Any posts to forums, blogs, positive comments are appreciated and will help our coin to become more popular and valuable!

Also, if somebody can do translation to other languages or make posts to local forums please contact us at support@execoin.net

Thank you!

Yours, developers team

and the lesson is - copy paste instamine pump dump?

6000 blocks in one hour is instamine

Please provide "instamine" addresses to the public please! There was no instamine for Execoin as well as premine. You can view block explorer and make sure.

Block 1 generated at      (2014-02-27 19:58:26)
Block 5000 generated at (2014-02-27 21:09:13)

more than 1 block is generated per second

Isn't that instamine?

The started difficulty was low, so number of generated blocks is nothing extraordinary, it is a fast coin by design. Mining was opened to everyone, so it wasn't instamine. We already told everyone who is in doubt - view blocks distribution and you will see there wasn't instamine, everyone who wanted to mine Execoin was able to do this from the very beginning!

when it hits exchange? no plans for that?

Not just plans, we're working on that right from the moment we've launched! :-) Hope it will happen very soon. We'll keep you informed and will post exchanges immediately!

New pool has been added to our list:

Meet exe.poolz.net! and thanks to its owner for support of our coin.

I have no idea if this is working. i keep getting booed and nothing accepted. pool http://exe.coinpool.cc not showing any hashrate at all. Huh i think i found my problem. Your cudaminer doesn't support the command "--nscrypt". Anyone got cudaminer working with this coin yet? modifiers?

--algo=scrypt:2048

Use this! :-)
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXE] Execoin - Fast | ASIC resistant | Multipool resistant | no-premine on: February 28, 2014, 05:47:55 AM

To everyone who mined at official pool (pool.execoin.net).

Please log in to your account and enter your payout address.

We're going to make manual payments according to the number of your shares since automated payout cannot be done. There was a database inconsistency due to very large amounts of blocks found. When all the payments will be done we'll resume pool operation normally. Don't worry - all your shares will be accounted and everything will be paid out!

So it's a 100% identical vertcoin clone. Got it.

Execoin is not a clone of Vertcoin, it has a number of differences. It's faster and has more reasonable schedule of N-factor increase. Furthermore, Vertcoin is a clone of Yacoin, together with N-factor schedule. And Yacoin is a clone of Litecoin, which is a clone of Bitcoin. We've made our own N-factor schedule, not cloned or taken from anywhere else. If you look at sources, you will find lot of differences.

So no, Execoin is not a clone of Vertcoin. Yes, they both ASIC-resistant and based on the same principle of ASIC-resistance.

can anyone please tell me what to put ELI5 in the execoin.conf that i created and placed in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Execoin

daemon=1
server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password

Then point your miner to http://127.0.0.1:9988

or simply join one of the pools:

pool.execoin.net (currently down)
exe.coinpool.cc

Would a 280x require a different thread concurrency from normal scrypt?

Usually it needs same or lower thread concurrency and intensity no more than 13.

One more pool has been added to the list! exe.coinpool.cc

Our official pool still in down, sorry... we're working to make it up again!

Is the pool sending out tokens or what?  Can't even enter in my address to get a payout.  To whomever is running the pool, please, please do not steal my execoins.  My daughter has leukemia, and I have so much faith in the execoin team I know those coins will be able to pay for her treatment.  If you run off with my coins, it is like murdering a little girl.  Do you want little Jill's blood on your hands?  I didn't think so.

Please send request to pool@execoin.net

Anyone has some fresh nodes?

you don't need to update nodes, they're updated automatically via node seeder. Pool will be announced in a short time!
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXE] Execoin - Fast, reliable, secure no-premine coin LAUNCHED! on: February 27, 2014, 09:22:59 PM
What is normal hashrate on nscrypt compared to scrypt? Right now I have one card on 50Kh/s and one on 240 Kh/s, usually on scrypt they both are around 710Kh/s (280x cards)

You will get around 50% of the hashrate you might get with regular scrypt due to more intensive memory usage. Check your card settings!
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXE] Execoin - Fast, reliable, secure no-premine coin LAUNCHED! on: February 27, 2014, 09:16:53 PM
Hi,

I've been solomining this coin for 5 minutes now and I found 4 blocks.They show up in my wallet for a second and then dissapear.

Is that normal?

I use this to run exeminer:

exeminer.exe --nscrypt -o 127.0.0.1:9988 -u XXXXXX -p XXXXXX --intensity 16 --gpu-engine 870 --gpu-memclock 1145 --worksize 256 --shaders 1440 --failover-only --queue=0 --scan-time=0 --expiry=1 -g 1

thanks

Most probably that blocks were orphaned ones. Due to current low difficulty orphan blocks appear frequently, but it should be normalized as the difficulty raise a little.

Why difficulty is not up yet?

It will be up soon!

dont try to fool us please... your shitcoin is an instamined fest with no rediff target after 3K+ block mined
yes :-(
there is no kgw

Look at block expolrer and see when first block has been mined: http://95.85.39.247

And difficulty already changed by the way.

difficulty will be up after 1920 x 2 blocks - since chain start time is not when we announced it and first block has been mined but rather than wallet has been compiled
