So, I am constantly refreshing this thread, and oft-times met with no new post.

DNotes is a cryptocurrency for the future. So then, what exactly is in store for the future? And how can cryptos, generally, and DNotes specifically, help facilitate life in the future as you see it?

There's no wrong ideas when your brainstorming.

The future, to me, is going to be one of technological pervasiveness. It's going to be everywhere. And by everywhere, I mean a totally different kind of everywhere. An everywhere that can be described by what I call a Triple Convergence (sort of an updated version of the Triple Convergence detailed Friedman's "The World is Flat"). We have the Semantic Web, The Web of Things, and Artificial Intelligence. This internet which has so vastly improved the lives of the entire planet is going to become massively larger. Every nook and cranny is going to be armed with simple intelligence, and will gather data. Like a trillion tiny sensors lining roads that communicate and direct your self driving cars. Refrigerators, microwaves, toys, smoke alarms, all with IP address. And then with the Semantic Web, we are going to take all of that data and connect it more deeply. So, this massive network is going to become streets more massive, far more connected...and increasingly large portions of the new network will be run by AI that ever more closely approximates the reasoning capabilities of human intelligence.

Technology will be then be pervasive. I'm talking pervasive in a way that makes technology today look like child's play.

For me, cryptos represent a way to maintain control amidst all of this pervasiveness. Don't get me wrong, our collective quality of life will improve immeasurably and in untold awesome ways. But all that progress will have a cost. And I think altcoins represent a significant piece of insurance against technological progress stifling our humanity. I don't want to be controlled, and I don't want financial companies, among others, to have the kind of power over me that they do now. For example, Visa is larger than Disney. Mastercard is larger than Boeing and McDonald's.

They are that big because of the centralized power of current wealth transfer paradigms. Decentralized, superrrrr-secure paradigms with broad support, like DNotes, are perfect cogs to be a part of running the "anti-machine."

Getting good voting stats on MintPal and AllCrypt as well. There looks to be a real groundswell of support building for NOTES. I've noticed, on the mining side of things, continued growth in the pools. Overall, we are close to hitting the 1 GH/s mark. Some serious rigs are starting to be pointed this way, too.

very well said, the dev has hit a homerun with the setup...Shared stake ideology; the first good coin with the Kimoto Gravity Well attached to it from the very start of the coin; the amazing mining bonus for the first 34k blocks, and rest of the premine going to quite a lot of very generous giveaways; the catchy name (NOTE is quite a solid callout, and all the associate schema that comes with thinking about notes, versus coins); the well running support system (fluid and efficiently running pools, wallets, faucets)...

This cryptocurrency has a lot going for it, without a doubt.

I was thinking this as well.

Some change needs to be made to the faucet. As it stands, it is awful. I have to watch a video captcha that takes 10+ seconds to load run, and get the code.

And I have to do that FIFTY times just to get any payout.

The point of a faucet is to spread some coins. Make it a per instance payout of 2-5 notes, and put the same daily limit of 50 on there. People will get something for every submittal, and also have the same max limit.

Coins spread with less wasted time is far better because it is a better user experience. I entered my wallet and gave up after five attempts. I think for new users, this is a turn off, and defeats the point of the faucet.

Hi everyone, I'm new to mining, but have been following the space for quite awhile before making the investment in a rig. And from everything I know, I can say that NOTES is a going to be a great coin in the future.

I feel bad because I look like one of those people as well. I just got my rig up and running in the last 7 days, so all my accounts (here, reddit, altcoinauthority, etc) are all brand new.

But I promise I'm not a bot!!! lol

I did exactly that. But forever reason the comments are stuck in "awaiting moderation"

And now that I log on and view the page from a difference viewer, I don't see the posts at all. I even created an account and posted under the account. Same result....stuck in moderation.

Seems rather a terrible bottleneck for a forum to have. Not sure I'm a fan of such centralization of posting authority. Moderating is important, but manually modding every comment/post? Terrible idea for that forum, imo.

Hi Tofer, you mentioned earlier ITT that you would throw some giveaways out to those that showed support for charity pools, even.

As we bandied about earlier, it was a good lesson for me to stay more on top of my miner during a launch. But, I did end up mining for 2 hours and got nothing.

But you know what? Here I am a day later, and I've been mining in CharityPools all day! I've been checking my miner from work, and it's been flawless all day.

So, rather than just lip service, I am voting with my feet and showing support. Hook a brother up with some scrilla!!!!!

I agree. I liked the idea a lot. Which is why I went ahead and chose that as my pool, and stayed for 2 hours when my intuition told me otherwise. I was a bit annoyed, but as tofer pointed out, he probably lost way more than I potentially did. And didn't get to implement a cool idea. Bummer for him, and for a bunch of us. Hopefully he can get up and running soon, he seems like he's trying hard, and to no avail. Which I can definitely understanding. Since I am running Linux for the first time in my life with my mining rig, I've spent many a night tearing my hair out getting things up and running!
