April 12 becomes pure POS?
No, it's within the next 36-40 hours, we're ahead of schedule because the minting hash power wasn't taken into account. AHEM. Let's kill this fallacy. Once & for all time. PoW DOES NOT end. ZeitCoin will NEVER be "Pure PoS" Mining will still be possible for decades to come. The only question is, will the price rise to the point where mining is still a desirable thing to do when the reward is 1 coin/block? Here are my (simplified & estimated) 'beermat' maths on the subject... At 1 Zeit/block, mining will give roughly 3 coins per Mh/s per day. For it to be seen as desirable to mine, ignoring the benefits of PoS, it will need to be approximately as profitable as any of the 'top 20' coins. Right now that's only around $2.50 day, like it or not we are all tied to the performance of BitCoin. So, on today's numbers, 1 Zeit would need to be worth around 80 cents to be profitably mine-able after it hits 1/block With BitCoin @ $450 that's 0.001777 Btc/Zeit  So, do you still think it's sane to be even thinking about selling Zeit right now? Those who do will feel as stupid & short-sighted as those who sold Btc when it hit a couple of dollars apiece, believe me! Lion I sincerely hope you are right. Pardon my ignorance, but why would anyone want to mine this coin at 1 Zeit/Block if the price is not up there ? Again I am not questioning your theory, just trying to understand it better. |

Here is an idea ..
When we eventually get the PoT bonus, whoever gets it should send 501 to the person who initially put in the 501.
i think there are actually 2500 flutter being passed around. 3 chunks of 500 and 1 chunk of 1000. Hmm that's going to be harder to track accurately. But if we only knew who those 4 people were and what they contributed. We can eventually get it settled i've done 500, but i don't really care about getting them back. i don't think the other guys are sweating it all that much either Yeah, I've thrown in 500 as well and couldn't careless about getting it back. In fact I look forward to throwing in more when we finally hit a POT!  Hope some new people speak up and jump in. More fun with more passing options... Ok cool. I'll make my own 501 ball at some point I hope someone gets a PoT soon. I want to see the screenshot, it would make my day ! |

quick question, already been answered but i dont have time to sift through the masses of posts, I got my first minted coins today but there is a grey question mark next to em? is there an issue with my wallet or is that just orphaned like in pow? was only 700z but dont want to miss out on my bigger ones.

It fixes itself eventually, nothing to worry. It happened to me like 4 times in a row once. I eventually saw an "accepted" mint Edit: In other words your Coin age is unaffected. So you are not losing anything, just delayed. |

I bought some more at 2, tried dropping down into the 1btc but just missed, anyone else got 0.04btc todo this??? we could be at 3sat within a few hours
I could throw another 0.2 to 0.4 at it. I am watching my PoS and its not minting anything ... not sure what is wrong. After I see my minted coins I'll get back at the wall How long does it take to start minting or showing up in the UI (is there a way to see if its actually minting ?) 20days from first deposit in zeit wallet, may take a few days more just depends but it will mint! there are plenty others who are minting at the moment so if you wallet is unlocked and has been working, it will come just be patient. Ok Thanks, I wasn't sure how fast or slow the processes was. I was too anxious to lock my wallet, I guess I've to leave it unlocked a lot longer than I would like |

(if you scroll down the list on CoinWarz, for example) That we have the feckin' SUCK-IESTlogo of any bloody coin out there? TBT the way I find it when I'm scrolling down the list is to look for the first nondescript grey blob I come across. WE CAN, AND SHOULD, DO BETTER!!!
Maybe the first task for the community is to pay a graphic artist to design a logo WORTHY of where our coin is going? If you think I'm full of it, take a shufti at the logo for BlitzCoin. (Launching on Monday) Now THAT'S a statement! E2A - before any fekker accuses me of pimping, the only artistic skill I posses is in the school of urinary expressionism. I cannot agree with this more. I am sure someone in the community can submit a logo (or we can have a logo contest with a bounty !!!) |
