Are you wanting to know if you can actually get in trouble with the law from receiving or spending a voucher or just wheter Steam will cancel your account or something?
183  Economy / Digital goods / Re: ebay GC 50% on: August 28, 2014, 02:36:37 PM
Yep, as above, interested but need to know the value. 50% off $1 isn't much, but 50% off $100 is  Grin.
184  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular Bitcoin Game| 0.91% Edge| PVP | Jackpot | Faucet on: August 28, 2014, 02:31:30 PM
As Primedice3 opening days are coming to a close the faucet is soon going to be decreased a bit. It is currently giving out over 3 BTC a day which is a lot higher than we expected. This is mainly due to abuse.

Stunna, I consider you maybe top 10 def top 20 of members I would trust on this forum - but your statement above could be construed as misleading.

Are you saying simply that over 3 btc a day is being claimed from the faucet? Or are you actually paying out (people withdrawing) over 3 btc a day that can be traced back to an initial faucet claim?

Two quite different things. The former doesn't say much as most people claim faucet, gamble it, lose it and repeat - you are not out of pocket at all.

The later says a lot, and I would be surprised you kept it for so long if this was the case. Marketing kudos to you.

Cheers mate

He's trying to cut back on costs. I for one believe this is an outrage, I worked extremely hard to get to my 6k faucet and now it's being lowered?
Why can't you just lower it for level 10 and under or simply add a harder catcher.

How can one even abuse the faucet...make a bot claiming once per minute and betting on 100x?

3BTC CLAIMED per day is nothing out of your pocket, considering people blow it in a near instance.

I support your changes to PD3, but for this one I'm not so supportive.

People will be using the bots to claim the faucet every minute and wager it at ridiculous odds. When they win they will probably send it as a tip to another account which then can be withdrawn. Do this several times and the house has lost 3btc. Do this every day constantly and it adds up to a considerable sum. I understand your frustration, but maybe a compromise can be achieved.
185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do merchant services make a profit? on: August 28, 2014, 01:51:27 PM
I wouldn't worry too much about how payment processors make their money. I'm sure they've figured out a way to provide the service whilst turning a profit. If they haven't they wouldn't be a very good business or wont operate like that for long.
186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucets that do not pay - a list to prevent time wasting! on: August 28, 2014, 01:49:29 PM
Here's my list to 'prevent timewasting':

ALL OF THEM  Grin.

Sadly newbs only realize this the hard way. The pittance they would have got can only be made much worse when they don't even recieve that.
187  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's funny how this forum thinks bitcoin is spelled wrong! on: August 28, 2014, 01:47:30 PM
It does raise up another point though
That browsers need to update their spellcheck now and then as Bitcoin is a word that should have gotten more than enough press and notice to be added to a dictionary.

Well they do when you update them, but I doubt bitcoin has been added to any yet, though I'm sure it will soon enough.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price PLUS $1000 - Would Bitcoin then see world wide acceptance? on: August 28, 2014, 01:40:32 PM
You can't coordenate such big group. Otherwise there would not be any bubble in any market.

And even if you could, then outside people would see it as big market manipulation, since if you can agree to stay at the 1500's, then you can agree to put it back to the 500's and then rise to the 1500's, making a huge profit in the meanwhile.

Exactly. It's not as easy as what you are suggesting, plus this kind of artificial price hike wouldnt be good for bitcoin. We need natural growth which will hopefully come along gradually with adoption.
189  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-28] 10 Reasons Why Bitcoin is Better than PayPal on: August 28, 2014, 12:48:13 PM
There is even an online platform for users to share their horror stories and experiences when using PayPal: http://www.paypalsucks.com/

Paypal does indeed suck, but give it time and I'm sure there will be a bitcoinsucks.com detailing many bitcoin horror stories too, though no doubt they'll be problems with the actual technology but losing money in various ways.
190  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A service that sends you a text message when there is big Bitcoin news? on: August 28, 2014, 12:33:31 PM
For example, if news that the ETF has been approved gets published, you immediately receive a text to your phone?  Or Amazon accepting Bitcoin, etc.  I don't want to miss a major price catalyst because I didn't happen to refresh Coindesk 50 times that day, so was looking to see if anything like this was available.

Even if there was I doubt you'd be able to tailor it so specific to when Amazon starts accepting it. You could use rs feeds but you're still probably just going to have to keep your ear to the ground in some way.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallet do you use for your Bitcoin? on: August 28, 2014, 12:29:17 PM
I use blockchain.info webwallet and phone app for daily purchases etc, but after I've earned or accumulated so much I transfer it to my Electrum wallet. Once it's got to a considerable amount I then back up the wallet and store it offline and create a brand new one to fill up and repeat the process.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you love Bitcoin? on: August 28, 2014, 12:26:52 PM
yes I love Bitcoin, but I have to admit, I will
love it more when it makes me rich.

But how much will you love it if it makes you poor again? What would happen if bitcoin price skyrockets but then crashes shortly after?
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you interested in Bitcoin because of the concept or to get rich? on: August 28, 2014, 12:25:27 PM
i like the concept, the ideology, the tech and because of all these things, also the investment in it.

i read the whitepaper and alot of satoshis posts.

Blah, that's a shame that a few people just ruin it for everyone. 3btc is a lot though so I understand. How much were you giving away on average on the old site?
195  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: August 28, 2014, 10:34:17 AM
Auctioning or selling slots for this thread would probably be a good idea and I'm sure it'll be much more profitable than relying on your donations  Cheesy. I'm sure this thread would attract some advertisers, especially signature campaign operators or just gambling sites who want to grab extra attention.
196  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Euphoria when bitcoin goes to moon! on: August 28, 2014, 10:27:46 AM
You could probably find them yourself just by going through the forum pages until you find them that coincide with the price rises, but then you will also see the following misery of the crashes that followed. Have some patience and I'm sure will see both of these threads again sometime soon.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long are we going to pretend? on: August 28, 2014, 10:24:56 AM
In my mind, it will always be an experiment since there will always be parts that will need improving. Market cap and adoption is a measurement of how successful this experiment is.

I don't think that's the definition of an experiment. There's many things that work fine but could always benefit from tweaks or improvements. After all, that's what evolution is.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long are we going to pretend? on: August 28, 2014, 10:08:11 AM
It still is an experiment and it's still on going. It could be a success of turn into a failed experiment, but some parts of it will still live on. None of us can predict where it will truly end up or where it will go, though.
199  Other / Off-topic / Re: From ZERO to ONE Billion in 3 years ? on: August 26, 2014, 02:24:39 PM
I have no idea why website like this can cost 1 billion.
Well then you should do your own research before saying such things.
Why wouldn't twitch be worth that much?
Take a look here: http://www.techspot.com/news/57839-amazon-swoops-in-and-buys-twitch-out-from-under-google.html
http://gizmodo.com/why-everyone-wanted-to-buy-twitch-1626616566

I am however surprised at Amazon being the one stealing it in front of Google. If it was Apple instead, it would be incoming lawsuit @Amazon.  Cheesy

He's probably just speaking in general. It is a ridiculous sum, but obviously there's several giant companies that can see the potential in it so they pay the big bucks. I'd never even heard of it personally, but I'm not a gamer.
200  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dawkins: Immoral Not To Abort Down’s Syndrome Child on: August 26, 2014, 12:59:14 PM
Once egg and sperm merge and begin the process, that is the beginning of human life. Human egg and sperm merging does not produce anything other than a human being. What does religion have anything to do with this most basic fact? Do you believe any belief, including that of women or religious reasons, is grounds for changing facts? Your feelings are worthless when it comes to deciding what defines life. Try not to over step your bounds.

Maybe that is the definition of when life starts, but what does that have to do not allowing abortion? And your feelings are worthless when it to deciding what defines life. Try not to over step your bounds.

Where do you get the idea that the baby, another human being, is yours to decide whether to live or die? Where do you get the bizarre idea that the baby is 'your' body? What the baby is is another human being - not a piece of your own tissue. Your feelings based on your gender is not a basis for deciding anything - much less that of life and death of another.

Where do you get the idea that it isnt?

'Feel differently if you were a woman' - shall I tell you that it is also very possible to justify rape and violation of woman on the basis that 'you are not a man and therefore would not understand'?

It's really not. Maybe for you it is though.

You are quite correct, because this is my domain when fools decide arbitrarily to whine, bitch and moan that they somehow are above facts based on their feelings.

I find this ironic considering you continuously confuse your own perverse opinions as facts and deal with anybody else's opinion you disagree with with childish insults and mocking as if that's your only real argument here.
