181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinWallet says Bitcoin stress test in September will create 30-day backlog on: August 20, 2015, 07:49:21 AM
This is an inherit part of the transaction economy. The amount of transactions in a specific time is limited. The miners will determine what transactions to include and they can do so arbitrarily. Obviously most will pick those transactions that bring them the highest revenue (highest transaction fees / size of the transaction).

If a single party wishes to "purchase" all available space they could do so by offering high fees on low size transactions. It will cost a bit but if they can make a profit out if it then why shouldn't they just do it?

Talk is cheap. Stop saying x is not good and telling others to make it better. What's stopping you?

just keep my self from fraud dont effended to you.. just my perception on my head..
this your choice..

There are ways to make deals like this safer. Use escrow when dealing, maybe have a video chat between buyer and seller to build some confidence. But sure, the internet is a place where you might be scammed. Being careful makes sense.

Don't change the rules. You only said that someone had to accuse you (bolded for you). There was no mention of proof. Don't you know that weaseling out of a statement is scammy behaviour? Tongue

185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Permanently keeping the 1MB (anti-spam) restriction is a great idea ... on: August 19, 2015, 02:54:23 AM

You call this thread FUD. Yet your post spreads FUD way more than the OP. "USGavin" "GOOGLHearn". You sure got them there! </sarcasm>
If you have some sound arguments refuting the OP then by all means share them. Just my 2 cents.

keep your two cents and read the whole thread then... my arguments are all over it. Roll Eyes

When you say "my arguments are all over it." are you referring to these three posts:

Check this :  Why would anyone host a 1 MB full node if they can only use the blockchain once per decade?  (http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2vec37/why_would_anyone_host_a_1_mb_full_node_if_they/)

I hear such arguments, but it is the +1Billion users postulate that sounds kinda cultish to me.

"Bitcoin for 7billion people", "Bitcoin for Africa", "Bitcoin for unbanked"..
I ear this a lot but think that this is nothing close to reality.

Masses just really dont give a dam about finance, monetary policies or internet of things. They need jobs and food.

Yes of course , bitcoin is for all the world but some people don't have neither the access on internet/smartphone (with 3G). So you are right, for the moment not all the people can use bitcoin but this fork is necessary at least for rise the limit of TX per second.

All im saying is that whatever happens, try not to 'put the cart before the horse' gents.

was it already argued that not raising the block size leads to fractional reserve banking? - this system then basically becomes the same shit as the banking industry.

not if you hoard your bitcoins.. all hail the new bankers Grin Cool

Or is there another thread where you've formulated your position with arguments to support it?
186  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Honey from Thailand on: August 19, 2015, 02:05:08 AM

Are you still selling this? Price for two bottles inc shipping to UK?

I'm not actively selling anymore. It was not a really good business, since in many places you can get decent honey from local shops without all the overhead of shipping animal products internationally. It's simply not cost effective to ship small amounts halfway across the globe. So I sold most of my stock long ago and ate the rest Tongue

If you're really in need of some specific brand of Thai honey then I wouldn't mind much to see if I can get it for you though.

bump because this is worth a read to the " noobs "

no, its not.

this was worth a bump. People need to realize what the purpose of bitcoin was and how Satoshi envisioned it to grow.

Keeping 1 MB cap =/= growth.

stop extrapolating the vision of somebody you know nothing about.

+ i have never said 1MBcap for-freakin-ever. Mr extrapolator.

lol oh let's be presumptuous.

Stop assuming I know nothing about Satoshi. Let's stop with the personal attacks and stick to the topic at hand buddy.

First off you indicated that it would be not worth reading this main post of D&T for "noobs".

I think reading it does bring lots of things into clear perspective.

noobs, redditards, whatever, this propaganda thread perfectly served the USGavin and GOOGLHearn FUD.

Bitcoin is not some paypal-visa-mastercard alike service, and not some yappy-yay way to tip the little african with frappuccinos.

finally, nobody knows nothing about satoshi. so just stop godifying each of his word, like "oh hey thats what he wants, means, shits..".
people dont even know if its a single person or a group, nsa or cypherpunk, blabla, wtf im out of this nonsense. peace.

<snipped>

What the hell?, your account is new and it does not look like "reputable member"  hence your opinion is invalid.

<snipped>

I love how you resort to discredit "new account" as if that would validate your points or the lack of.

<snipped>

You're an hypocrite, Meono. I don't care if you're using an throw-away account or not but I find your attitude more offensive than constructive. Unless your agenda is to offend people I suggest you change your tone.
190  Other / Archival / Re: Selling Legit Microsoft Keys for $5 (Single - Bulk Orders) [Windows 10 = $9] on: August 17, 2015, 08:49:57 AM
Is it a retail version or cracked version?

Retail version.

But unlicensed. Technically you're not allowed to use the software without a licence. Doing so means you're pirating the software.

Do you have, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010?

Hi,

Yes, $15. Do you need Ultimate or Pro edition ?

My Wallet : 1PUULf3YvorscC3dtfi5vcgykPct8uEFRG

Regards
I need the Ultimate edition actually, but your price is too high. I can't afford it Sad

$15 too expensive for Visual Studio Ultimate? That's funny.

Why don't you just use Visual Studio 2015 Community. It's probably free for you to use1.

1 Assumption.
192  Other / New forum software / Re: New Forum>??? on: July 21, 2015, 08:47:35 AM
You can get better themes than that on free forum softwares,  not even accounting the several donations that people have given to these forums.

If that is the new forum, I'd be just as mad as you!
The UI looks crap, and to be honest, it just isn't worth the months and months we've been waiting for a new layout.

Too bad tho, it's not up to us.

A forum isn't just the layout and interface. It's all that goes on behind the scenes as well. I would give more importance to all that working well. Besides, like they said, that layout is just for testing, not the final version yet.

Am I the only one who reads a thread before replying?! I understand that enzyme would post without thinking since they're getting paid for it though.

UI design hasn't yet begun. Thats just a placeholder so that the forum can be built/tested.

It has been said before. The design is not final, it is a placeholder. Come on guys/gals, read up on the subject before you reply!

Cheesy

It seems there's not much Thai activity on this forum.

Anyway, I just came across a food service in Bangkok that accepts Bitcoin:
http://paleorobbie.com/

I just found this from a colleague and I'm quite impressed. They offer a great service by delivering fresh and healthy (following the paleo diet) meals in Bangkok. It is tasty and very convenient! And they accept Bitcoin. Don't expect 40 baht meals though. Quality comes at a price.

Have a look and if you're interest have a go at their 3-meal trial if you're interested.

And if you're looking for a contact in Thailand feel free to pm me.

Pope Francis’ Climate Change Encyclical Leaked Four Days Early by Italian Magazine
...
The 192-page document is Pope Francis’ first major teaching letter on climate change and its effects on the planet’s poor. Hailed by some as the “pope of the poor,” Francis’ linkage of environmental and economic issues puts the Vatican out front on a closely watched topic.
...
http://time.com/3921416/pope-francis-encyclical-leaked/

It is actually quite logical and effective to solve the poor's problems by killing them and/or making sure they are never born in the first place by killing or sterilizing their parents.

A permutation on this theme would be to use the power or the various powers that be to extort the masses in exchange for granting them the privilege of having offspring.  This has a financial component which can attract a more broad support base, and it provides finer grained controls to help engineer a more desirable herd.

These ideas have resonated with (mainly) left-wing thought leaders (sponsored by oligarchs who have more money than they know what to do with and wish to make a lasting statement.)  One of the few things that the Catholic Church had going for it (until now perhaps) is that they kind of rejected some of these ideas on moral grounds.  As best I can tell from afar at least.

A more realistic solution would be for the catholic church to distribute their enormous wealth into projects to eradicate poverty. But of course that kind of thing doesn´t fit the mindset of these fruitcakes,

The actual wealth of the catholic church is hard to measure and widely debated. But I get the feeling you're overestimating how wealthy the church actually is. The catholic church couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, let alone corporate entities such as Walmart or Exxon Mobil.

And all that aside, they've actually managed to make a talking point of how climate change affects the worlds' poor. Which is a good thing.
200  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: June 15, 2015, 05:00:45 AM
Please remove VOD from the default trust list for repeated and gross violations of social order.

He still hasn't removed his lying, spiteful feedback from me.

VOD is a classic example of a confindence scammer. He just followed people around and negrated whoever everyone else was negrating. This got him some kind of rep. Then he turned asshole and started negrating people for little to no reason.

In my case he negrated me because of something someone else said who misunderstood what I wrote. Despite clearing up the situation the jerkoff negrated me post-facto for attempting to buy trust.

It's people like VOD who destroy the community and make things like the trust system useless.

Emphasis mine.

So you go around building up confidence by paying for trust and you're complaining that someone else is making the trust system useless?
