Hi all To clarify our plan of action regarding this FUD campaign: We give it no credit. It does not deserve a response beyond the single statement I made yesterday. Nor do we intend to allow it to slow down our work. We do not feel it justifies any further time or energy, and so there is no reason to clarify matters regarding claims made about XC, the Blocknet, or Dan. We're done with it. We're moving on with development. Any further responses are likely to simply be re-quotes of this comment and yesterday's statement. Please do the same if you think that giving FUD credit has no warrant. Well since the conversation was very concerning and Prometheus admitted to taking part in it, I think we deserve to know if he is involved in Blocknet's affairs or in anyway connected to Dan. I want XC to migrate to the XC forums where it is just our discussion of our coin. Most other coins have done it so i dont see why we cant. BTC talk is a shit hole and it seems like the bigger you become as a competitor, the more moderating is needed to keep these threads in order. It would be alot less work for the team as well since very few trolls would actually bother making an XC account to FUD, and on top of that, you can actually BAN THEM so you never have to deal with them again
Additionally, this thread could be moderated such that it contains only announcements. The day-to-day discussion should really be taking place in IRC, our own forum (although I personally think forums are a cumbersome medium), or through an app like Slack. I see no need to have day-to-day discourse in this thread. It attracts nonsense and takes up too much of the team's time to moderate this stupid thread. There has got to be a better way to organize our community. I think we should lurk on reddit. fud goes down, interesting stuff go up. simples. |

I have read every single post in every xc thread until today. Just got back home and have had to skim through all the bullshit (tyler durdens wall of text is what got to me most if i'm honest)
Dan's posted. He's said whats going on. I trust him. He aint let us down yet.
The (rather small anyway) premine has been spent on what it was supposed to be spent on, (minus Arylns helmet... outrage!)
Im actually gutted my orders at 20 to 30 didn't go through.

A little pre-emptive announcement: A group of Bitcointalk users have modified (or perhaps completely invented) some IRC chat logs and screenshots in order to spread FUD about the Blocknet and XC. It's incredibly easy to create a "record" of any purported conversation you want and present it as fact. However such logs are not provably truthful, and in this case are false and clearly are posted with malicious intent. Dan's identity is public and he has staked his personal reputation upon his public conduct and upon XC. Dan has delivered - and overdelivered - on XC's tech for five months without fault. XC's timeline is testament to this. And if Dan delivers (notably in the absence of any pumps on XC), then he is not out to scam people out of their money. Pertaining to some equally vacuous FUD claims: XC's premine was never dumped, but has been spent entirely on development. Together with Dan's personal funds, it has funded XC's development. On a final note, the collaborative spirit that inspired the Blocknet has led Dan to collaborate on a number of projects. He has openly stated in advance his collaboration (on a freelance basis) with every coin that he has worked with. This has been done candidly and Dan has nothing to hide regarding his collaborations. XC has got to be the most FUDed coin in all of crypto. Seriously...  Even some of you who have been here for awhile don't know which way is which any longer. If I were a whale or market maker of sorts and wanted to manipulate/profit from the market, I would have manipulated you all into behaving exactly as you are right now. Divide and conquer. Divide...and conquer. Make no mistake, someone is going to profit huge from all of this FUD and the resulting market volatility. Might I remind you all that Dan plans to incorporate XC next year? This is his incentive. Fuck the premine. XC is on a level beyond what the rest of crypto can comprehend. I think its natural to go into panic mode. I've done it every time, its like an instinct. you have to step back and assess the situation and relax. If you have trust in the coin then just hold tight. A few hours ago i had my head in my hands, now after thinking rationally, I'm not (too) worried. Don't give people shit for worrying though. it's been a pretty harsh dump in the last couple weeks. |

I consider my salary a private concern. Despite this, I've not kept the fact that I am paid for my work a secret; I've mentioned it here a couple of times.
The idea that a salary is equivalent to insider dealing is absurd IMO.
The really obvious question is: does anyone here seriously think I'd do 5 months of full time work for free?

This is really bad news, looks like the mystery dumpers were the hired help.. great.. Dan has always seemed like a great guy but I think he will find this decision and the lack of transparency to be a catastrophic error of judgement... very, very sad to see this...
Back in the day would I have bought on good news knowing I was probably helping the dumpers get out.. no way....
Also synechist, you do a great job and I often praised it but I had no idea you were on the payroll, ditto teka... this really does not sit well...
I went with my gut on this coin. Never really bothered much with alts before. Dan was open about who he was from the start, clearly he has skills. I still believe we have the best anon. Synechist wasn't always on the payroll. I was also pleased when I found out he was taking on his role (He always seemed like a decent ethical guy, and no one can deny he's good a keeping a cool head through everything that goes on) Can't say Im not worried, but I still have faith. |

This is sickening to watch. I was buying like crazy at 100k thinking that was the bottom. Boy was I wrong.
I have that same feeling in my stomach. I think we all do. I bought a load at 100, 79, just got a few more at 49, got orders all the way down. fuck it. If this ship is going down Im going down with it. I dont think going open source when we are this low is a good idea, someone could just copy us, there will be a massive pump of the new coin and that will be the end of us. .. imo. |

Hmm... Looks like we need to get you all some details about how the premine has been spent and which address(es) you can all keep track of it on. It's pretty important that you're able to do this.
We'll need to wait until Dan's awake since I don't have any access to the premine. But I can tell you a few things:
- I will reveal that some of the premine has been used to pay me. It's a full time job, and I'm happy to be paid in XC.
- Dan is very likely to have paid XC to devs for various things.
- I don't think that Dan has used the premine for his own expenses. I actually think he *should* use it for his expenses, and I hope he has, but I'm not sure he has. He's specifically mentioned that XChat was developed out of his own funds.
Some pure speculation:
- I don't know how much of the premine is left, and how much might exist in BTC or another currency.
- It's possible that Dan diversified XC's funding to mitigate risk and/or to pay devs. Good plan in my opinion.
- It's possible that the premine could be used to generate profits on other coins, and thus replenish the premine.
I don't mind at all for you and the dev team to be paid with the premine. What I do mind is if you do this without stating publicly the amounts the addresses and the time you were/are paid. This is just complying with the standards that the team itself set up to follow as per pizpie link with the addresses were mentioning that each expense was going to be public. YOU AGAIN? ? NOW IT"S ABOUT PREMINE? GOSHHHHH!!!!! I hope you dump your xc and block faster and go look for another coin, because you really hurt this coin with you idiotic posts. I think this is a valid point too! I don't doubt point 2 will be sorted when Dan gets the chance to clear things up. Not much point in bickering about it. Lets just wait and see what Dan says. |

I got to give props to synechist for keeping a professional attitude and moderating the Thread accordingly.
Synechist has been providing exquisite community support in XCurrency project since its first month or so, if half the shitcoins had 1 person like him each in their own team, the alt scene would have surpassed bitcoin by now, he is a real asset to any coin team and poses the benchmark in community support. I provide pretty much the same services in my field but im not even half good. @Cryptico: thank god dude, now plz just chillax now! Indeed props to synechist.. You could have bought blocknet with your Xc for a 10% discount. There was a limited number of blocknet tokens available for this offer. These sold out in a few hours.
I think that offer was shared with the other affiliate coins.
I think it's unfair that some folks couldn't use some of their XC to buy blocknet tokens. I didn't find out about this until after it was sold out. It was "first come first served". To hell with the long time Xc holders. All you had to do was get out of bed. [EDIT] You could of even done it from your bed but you chose not to To be fair, the news of only 20% of the coins going to alts did only come out less than 24 hours before the ITO started, but hey ho. whats done is done. Couldn't you still sell some for BTC on poloniex and still get them at a discount as people are selling them cheaper? |
