I disagree with how he expressed his opinion (doing an attack) about the whole Bitcoin getting centralized but I do agree to some extent that he is right, maybe right now it's not the case but in future the bigger pools will completely take control of the mining operation and then they'll make their own rules and that will again result in a non trustworthy blockchain and maybe these stress test are done by them to increase the miner's fee. I don't think this is how Satoshi envisioned the mining to be, I think it was meant to be completely decentralized and people mining from different parts of the world and not just from few mining farms.
It would have been better if mining would be non-profit in any other any way than just the sheer joy of running your own decentralised mining rig in your basement, as a hobby and as a means to keep the blockchain alive. You could make it break even, so no profit, but no loss, but it is still the market at work here. The incentive is money, and that is one that feeds greed, greed is a very mighty thing and hard to control. We always want more, eat all the cake till nothing is left and then franticly search for the last crumbs... Mining without profit would increase the decentralisation, because it would only interest those who want to invest without any earthly rewards other than recognition and being part of it. But where do you put the coins? How to distribute those? It is stil about the blockchain and the coins. To distribute them evenly around to all wallets available? That would make running the most wallets profitable and take the whole thing askew again. Trying to manipulate the bitcoin value to keep it non-profitable for miners, but how? It wouldn't work. There was an altcoin with a dev who thought people would mine his coin for no reward whatsoever, apart from knowing they were keeping the network alive. It didn't work out. A few people mined it to begin with, but soon there were only a few hours a day when anyone was mining, and it became difficult to send coins to another wallet. Then the network was attacked, and the dev had to do a coin swap to a wallet with a different system that rewarded miners.

We'll be doing the final phase of this phase of the distribution very soon, so be to have to your wallets active.
I'm hard at work on developing the PreminePlus platform, which will fully automate all future coin distribution. I'll post more news on that once the system is ready for alpha.
Do you mean there will be more coin distribution's after the next "final phase" one? I thought there would be no more coins left to distribute after the next distribution and that whatever is left over is due to be burned. Where will the coins come from for the "phase two" distribution model that you mentioned earlier on this page? Phase two will introduce an entirely new distribution model. One which won't be controlled by the dev team, and will be more automated. But more importantly, will introduce a model which will allow PMP to gain value, and this is how a currency that is given away can hold wealth.

Maybe time to get a new main dev?
It is not that easy to get a reliable dev these days, but in case there is no response from Nullu we will have to start thinking about it. Nullu: Last Active: May 09, 2015, 04:49:36 PM Hmmm, more then a month since last activity. What's the point of getting a new dev as long as the current team still hold the coins for the last giveaway, and the coins due to be destroyed? It could work if we could get a dev that could swap the coins we have for new ones, and get rid of the coins held by the current dev team. It's difficult getting a reliable dev these days, but even harder getting a reliable dev capable of doing a coin swap.

Can someone please help me with the import of BTC and Doge wallet.dat. I choose the import wallet and choose the wallet.dat from the Bitcoin directory. I am then asked to type in the passphrase which I do and then I always get: What is going on here? Wild guess: does your passphrase have any non alphanumeric characters, like ' or " ? Try opening your bitcoin and doge wallets, opening the debug windows and typing dumpprivkey YourBitcoinorDogecoinAddress and press enter where YourBitcoinorDogecoinAddress is your Bitcoin or Dogecoin address that contained funds when the Clam dev took a snapshot of both coins. Copy the line of letters and numbers shown in the debug window (your private key) and open your Clams wallet's debug window. Type importprivkey YourBitcoinorDogecoinAddress and press enter You should see your clam coins.

I wish for $10 - $15 but that will not happen.
definitely won't. I never understand people who wish (near) single digits. Do you realize that if we had those you would start wishing for even lower prices? Such prices would shock so many people that no one would dare to buy in. So, let's say it drops down to 15$ and you buy in big time. But wait, then it drops even more down to 1$. You have now lost 93% of your investment. Still a good idea to buy in at 15$? nope, it case it gets 10-15$ muuuuuch more people would be involved in btc in general. that's how it can get spread worldwide. it would be accessible, easy to use and popular If the price does indeed drop to $10, I think it's rather safe to say that something has gone awfully wrong with our beloved coin. In that case I wouldn't really want to bet on it managing to get up again, to be honest... There just are prices that are indicative of things having gone wrong in a way that there's no coming back, I believe... anyway, hope that it will never turn 10$. And I hope if it does, you won't be right Same here, but I cannot think of any other scenario than its finished if it ever goes back to $10

\ A bear coin? Does it mean all bear FUDsters are going to leave this thread and move to altcoin discussion? quite the opposite. all the bitcoin bulltards will be begging for fonziecoins. bitcoin will be considered altcoin/obsolete/yesterday's news. I thought all the bears would start their own forum called bearcointalk

The seastead sounds remarkably similar to the floating community proposed by the Marinecoin dev.

It's gone down to 10/11 sats today. Does anyone think it will bubble again soon?
Of course I think there will be a bubble again. Especially with updates from zeded or getting this coin back to trex. As for soon, as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. This coin still has a long journey. It's looking better now its up to 26 sats today! It could be the start of another bubble.

PS I just put up a small order at 10 sats on yobit if anyone feels like selling me some .02xxx btc worth I doubt you will get them that cheap. Only 0.05btc worth of low buys left, the 18 and 15 sat buys packed up shop. I really think fonzerrellie caused this current bubble. I posted on here I wanted to buy some... I placed a couple buy orders, almost nobody sold me any... I put my buys a little higher, still no one wanted to sell me any... so I put it somewhere else. lol I put the orders up to buy coins... not to manipulate Your 10 sats was timed good, as it seemed to get things going. The 15 and 18 sats that followed just didn't wait long enough. Someone selling at 18 ruined the long buy streak, I feel. So by the time the 18 and 15 sats were gone, people were ready to sell at that, but too late. It's gone down to 10/11 sats today. Does anyone think it will bubble again soon?

We are working to get our own Multipool Service by next Month in April also we are in the phase to build an Anonymous Service for Eags and which can also be used by any other altcoin. The Anon Service will be ready ~ by October 2015 there will be a lot of testing to be done before we make it public. I can't detail anything now, but the Service will be integrated into Eags Wallet future versions. More updates will be provided as we work on it. Please stay tuned.
Can you say if it will be Tor based?

Which exchange will this be on?
There's nothing about it in the OP, so it's anyone's guess which exchange it gets on.

If Bitcoin would have never been open sourced we wouldn't be swimming in a see of shitcoins right know, but we would still have altcoins. the skilled coders of this world would have looked at what is there to see in plain sight and would have build their own version from scratch, or paid for the codebase to start and by so proof they are serious.
(many more words)
I'm looking forward to your opinion.
closed source == dead coin. Don't buy in. great argument. thanks for your input If its closed source it can contain hidden viruses and exploits.

What's with all the 0+0 0 transactions in the block chain? Could you add your hardwares info here? Please add speed as well (in case of overclocks), interfaces being used (3xsata2, 1xusb3, etc), optimized or no (assuming blank stagger sizes are optimized), number of miners running, lowest scan time/tb for one drive, number of drives (size, spindle speed, model), also state that each system should have a separate entry (top entry is eight separate systems). More stats the better. If this could be added to the opening post so more people populate it, it'd be great. To honor the 4 min average blocktime there will sometimes be empty blocks if no transactions are made. Can I assume the empty blocks will not take up much space so will not create blockchain bloat?
