181  Other / Off-topic / Re: No interest in gambling if there is no profit or fun to be accountable. on: April 03, 2024, 10:18:13 AM
To me if profits and funs are not featured in gambling then I don't find any Interest in it
The ultimate target for gamblers is to win and be able to make good use of the profits. When the profit is missing, gambling becomes a misery, unfortunately, a lot of people are in that stage which is the reason efforts are continously being made to encourage gamblers to take their risk management seriously. With proper risk management, losses will not be too painful

I think there is no much fun in gambling as the fun and joy is only activated by the money.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local/Traditional Gambling Spots on: April 03, 2024, 05:00:01 AM
Have you  ever had the thought of visiting a local gambling spot before, or have you been there before? I had to go there days ago. The place is characterized by old men gamblers and this board game which we call it in our place, is called draft in the local dialect here, some call it Okwe, and others call it different names in their various languages.
Draft is just like other indoor games such as scrabble,  Monopoly, Chess and others. They were primarily designed for entertainment and not for gamble but some people do side bets with it just like they do with anything that involves competition.

Draft should be one of my best games and part of what kept me busy during this Easter holidays.  It is popular in my neighbourhood too and just like you rightly stated, there are some aged people who are in the habits of using this game for side bets and due to their age, it now appear that draft is a gamble for old men. We are often chided to be toeing the wrong part for playing draft using some old men as example. I just laugh at them because those saying those things do not know how entertaining and mentally engaging draft is.

Liv - Sheffield
Manchester United - Liv
Liv - Crystal Palace
Fulham - Liv
Everton - Liv
West Ham - Liv
Liv - Tottenham
Aston Villa - Liv
Liv - Wolverhampton

I think this is quite doable, but Liverpool has 5 games away from home, including against Manchester United and Aston Villa. But still it is not a horror scenario here.
I don't think the home/away advantages/disadvantages still works for Liverpool and the likes. Now their eyes are on the trophy so it doesn't matter if they are at home or away, it is now all about the 3 points. This fixture shows that Liverpool actually have a chance, the only major resistances I see are Tottenham and Manchester United but but Liverpool upper hands against them.

It's really hard to tell whether one of these teams is more prone to making a mistake than the others. It is not impossible for Liverpool to win every single game. The same counts for City. Maybe the goal difference could become important, but my guess for now is that Liverpool and City will collect more points than Arsenal in the last 9 games. What are your thoughts here?
Indeed the league have become vert difficult to predict because the major contenders are in their best forms with about the same points. I know a clear winner will emerge but winning the league through goal difference is a possibility.

184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 02, 2024, 05:20:35 PM
Not for once have this helped me, instead it has dealt with me mercilessly as if the bookies are monitoring me. Just recently I went all in on Benfica and Sporting Lisbon which I combined both to play over 2.5 goals in their respective matches. I was heartbroken when Benfica failed even when they were at home against a very poor side. They could only score 1 goal whereas Sporting Lisbon delivered as expected. My only luck was that I did not ignore risk management as the amount I went all in with was the balance of a winning I already withdrew to my personal wallet.

I'm gradually learning to avoid going all in and I will make it a duty to avoid reposing too much confidence in any game.
185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 02, 2024, 04:45:00 PM
I know people who engaged in this practice and at first it looked like good business and easy money but as time progresses, they usually come back to face reality which is that they have ran out of Bitcoin or have their Bitcoin portfolio depleted with no way of accounting for the profits made. This happens in two ways, the first of it is that when they buy during bear market and sell during bull market, some usually keep this money in their bank or in stable coins and every now and then they will always see a need and will use part of the money to meet such needs.
A good investor will always know that his investment asset in not what he can use on other purpose, even the realized profits are expected to get back into the investment in other to have more chances on earning more from the additions in them
Theoretically it may seem plausible but that is not always the case as the temptation is compounded when you convert your Bitcoin to cash that is stashed in the bank. Besides, holding cash for two to three years waiting for the bottom of the bear market, which is what many people do, is not easy. Instead of the problems that this method carries, which have been abundantly elucidated, why not simply HODL because what you supporting is not different from position trading because the life cycle is less than 4 years.

we have to maintain a unique kind of business model and this ethics is to maintain the boundary on what we use our intended investment fund for, we cannot do without attending to some needs as they may even come in urgent to us, the reason why we are expected of having alternative to our source of income, when we invest, we buy the dip, hold and when the market rise, then we sell, we do this over and over again.
In other words, it is buy low, sell high for you. Well, that is not different from trading and I do not have problem with that, just that it may not be the focus of this thread because it is long term investment that is being discussed here.

We are thinking of going Pay-Per-Post, what do you think?
Putting a cap on the number of post will not be a bad idea for the longevity of the campaign. I'm sure you know that pay per post will stretch the campaign budget but if the company can carry that, it will actually increase the post count and visibility of the company in the biggest cryptocurrency and online gambling platform that I know of.
Nevertheless, I still s

191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 31, 2024, 09:10:40 PM
Marseille should try to reverse their luck in their home even though PSG are way better.
Marseille need these three points to catch Lens and Nice in order to have a chance to promote themselves to Europa League.
PSG if they could win they will be 12 points away from Brest so additional three victories will equal the Ligue 1 title.
I think PSG will win this match with 2 goals difference.
Facing PSG is like badluck when a team needs to gain crucial points. This situation makes Marseille have to play their best coupled big luck to win against a team that is provenly much better than them. Marseille must harness their home advantage and prepare anti-tactics to gain something. Aspirations of securing a spot in the Europa League make every opportunity to collect points is vital.
Olympique Marseille did very bad today, one of their worst outing in recent times. Maybe they were just being frightened by the big name of PSG. If Marseille did what was expected from them, they would have taken advantage of the 41st minutes red card of Lucas Beraldo that left PSG with one man deficient. Unfortunately, they were very busy being afraid of PSG than playing to win. The worst result they would have gotten was a draw instead of the 0-2 humiliation they received from PSG, a team that started scoring them from 2nd half when they were already one man down.

192  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are there some charges to use Bitcoin ATMs ? on: March 31, 2024, 08:41:29 PM
There is no bitcoin ATM in my country but I have heard that there are some countries where there are bitcoin ATMs. I would like to know that if there are charges to use these bitcoin ATMs. What are those charges ? If there are no charges, then who pays for the maintenance of these bitcoin ATMs ?
There was one Bitcoin ATM in my country that worked for a while before it later stopped working. The excitement was really high when it was launched, the news really brought many people into Bitcoin. I guess it failed because of our government policy in Bitcoin then via the central bank. They were never friendly with Bitcoin and were freezing the accounts of some individuals and businesses that were involved with Bitcoin. People were therefore very careful and resorted to trading P2P only with extra effort in the transactions so that they do not have any description or information that suggest they are related to Bitcoin.

I don't think there was anything that changed about the use of Bitcoin ATMs. People were just discouraged probably by the high transaction fees and longer waiting time for payment confirmation as a result of network congestion. I think a lot of improvements have to be made to this technology to engender more adoption of the Bitcoin ATM.
193  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do not make gambling the only activity you do for fun. on: March 31, 2024, 07:46:07 PM
Gambling is not basically for fun but a means of earning passive income. I doubt there are people who started gambling just for the fun of it; the primary motivation to venturing into gambling is always the money. Along the line, one can find fun but this is not the main thing about gambling.

People play video games and sport for fun, at least those does not require so much psychological body as there are no financial commitment. I think gambling is not even suitable as a means of fun because a single bad daw will make the fun disappear
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 31, 2024, 03:42:02 PM
~~~
I know you probably didn't really enjoy the match because Barcelona was only able to score 1 goal to bring them full points, even though Las Palmas had lost one player since the first half and that should have been an advantage for Barcelona but it turned out that Barcelona was only able to score 1 goal. According to all of us, this is not surprising, I think Barcelona is just trying to play more relaxed so that their players don't lose a lot of stamina so that it doesn't affect their performance towards the end. At least 1 goal is enough to bring Barca to 3 points and become more comfortable in 2nd place.
Barcelona difficulty in scoring goals was due to Las Palmas having a very high fighting spirit even though they played with 10 players from the 24th minute, they continued to run after the ball relying on speed and playing with high tension. Las Palmas didn't look like they were playing with 10 players, they defended well and were still able to build attacks occasionally. Barcelona's defense line was threatened several times by Las Palmas due to the defenders allowing opposing players to have space to shoot. Barcelona was still lucky because the Las Palmas players' shots deviated from the target.
Las Palmas did very well in averting many goals following the early red card. Perhaps Barcelona have continued to show how weak a team they have become this season. If it were the strong Barcelona that we know, there was no way they will not score at least 4 goals against Las Palmas who is never a treat to any big side this season. The conceded 5 goals against Atletico Madrid and 3 goals against Getafe so this demystify their supposed fighting spirit. I'm sure Barcelona has just increase the pockets of the bookies by neutralising those who would have played with the expectations of many goals
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: March 30, 2024, 02:11:45 PM
The reason why I'm not addicted to gambling is because even before I started to play gambling I already understand gambling and its addiction, and my understanding has helped me on how to follow up gambling. Sometimes I ask myself why do people get addicted to gambling, is it because they have no understanding or awareness about the addiction of gamble.
You are lucky to have had a soft landing in gambling. I started gambling in an easy way too but without much knowledge of the risk of addiction. Strangely, I was winning easily then and it was a smooth business that I later realized was not that easy as it seems especially when reality started setting in. I have now had my own fair share of the emotional torture that comes with being incapacitated by gambling and I have managed to evolved.
I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.
The job of gambling companies is limited to telling their users the risk associated with gambling, they don't need to go beyond that and so far you will appreciate the fact that the gambling companies does that perfectly well with their TOS filled with all the information needed by the gambler.
The burden of fighting gambling addition and managing risk is on the gambler and no one else. Besides, there is age cap that requires that every gambler is matured enough to take their decisions.
196  Other / Off-topic / Re: Arent men in general more likely to take risks compared to women? on: March 30, 2024, 12:59:27 PM
Across various culture and religion, societies are nurtured to believe that men should be the stronger one and the "protector". Consequently, it is mentally normal for men to assume this position.  Well, by the body physiology,  this is nothing but the truth even though there will be few exceptions. So, men are expected to be more courageous, hardened and more disposed to tackling daring challenges. This is also evident in.the ratio of male to female ratio in cryptocurrency that is perceived to be risky... so whatever involves risk, expect more men to be involved than women.
197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I make my own signature and use it on bitcointalk freely? on: March 29, 2024, 08:34:34 PM
Just like many people have already suggested, you have the freedom to make and wear your own signature but ensure you don't wear signature of services that are banned in the platform like mixers and DDoS services. Also don't wear signature of scam projects or services because the forum administration frown at scams and will not hesitate to use the sledgehammer.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 29, 2024, 12:10:12 PM
I have observed remarkable difference in my gambling ever since I decided to make rules and also follow them. Everything about my gambling now have become controlled, from how much I can put into gambling to targets even to the things that will make me stop for the day are all known before I even get started. I think making rules for myself is the best thing I did that is helping me in sports betting.
I live by the rule to never bet more than I can afford to lose.
This should be about the first rule for every gambler if they want to maintain their sanity. It took me time and a lot of sacrifices to come to terms with this rule, so I guide this rule jealously. Before even starting, I first of all calculate the amount I'm willing to put into gambler to check if I can afford to lose it. This way I will be prepared for whatever outcome I get even though I will still hope to win.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: March 29, 2024, 11:37:41 AM
Barcelona is almost certain to lose the La Liga title this season when Real Madrid leads the standings with an 8-point advantage with 9 games remaining. Real Madrid is comfortable enough to maintain its performance until the end of the season, but if they drop a few points in the next few games then maybe Barcelona can get closer.
The matches against Bilbao and Mallorca are something that Real Madrid must win before El Clasico, so if both can be won then it doesn't matter if Real Madrid loses in El Clasico. However, it would certainly be dangerous for Real Madrid if they lost one of the matches against Bilbao and Mallorca, they would be in danger of losing points in El Clasico too.
It's true, Barcelona's hopes of becoming La Liga champions are no longer great. Because in my personal opinion, Barcelona will definitely have difficulty catching Real Madrid's points at this time. The reason is that currently Real Madrid has a very good performance and is difficult for the teams in La Liga to beat.
You are very correct, we have to give it to Real Madrid this season, they worked so hard and deserve the trophy. Barcelona catching up with Real Madrid now means the later losing three matches while the former continue to win all their matches. Now the question is, can Madrid lose 3 out of their remaining 9 matches? The answer is an easy no even though anything is possible in football. On the other hand, will Barcelona be able to win all their remaining 9 matches? This is what I think is difficult because their performance this season is seriously below expectations.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been kicked out of a casino? on: March 29, 2024, 11:03:55 AM
Hi community,
We always hear about a gambler who has been harassed, expelled, or banned from a casino for a number of justified or unjustified reasons. There are those who have been banned for violating the laws or internal regulations of the casino, or for suspicious actions that negatively affect the course of play, or chaos inside the casino, or for other unknown reasons.
Have you been in this situation before?
It's a pleasure to hear your story.
It is rare for casinos to ban a customer especially regulated casinos with high reputation. The few times I hear of casinos banning a user is when the user raise accusation against them due to problem with withdrawals or KYC. On the aspect of violating the rules, the casino can just cancel the bets or void the suspected winning with adequate warning message sent instead of outright ban. I have not experienced ban and I wouldn't want to experience it because it will lead to losing my money which I cannot afford to do. I read the TOS of casino I want to use and ensure I follow the rules.
