181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DARKNET [DNET] QRK ALGO - PoW/PoS on: March 03, 2016, 02:31:51 AM
Quote
Coin Supply During PoW Phase: 64,800,000
PoW Phase: [0000002-0259200] Approx. 180 DAYS

Am I missing something or there will be >50 million coins mined in the next 5 months?
Right, that's why we are suggesting to decrease supply.
Can anyone make proposal in blockchain?

+1 vote!

+1

A reducing of total coins would be nice.

Because there wont be so much mining dumper.

Seriously, the greedy-miners stereotype is getting old; stakers, masternode owners, ICO participants, etc are just as greedy as miners.

In fact, the suggestion of reducing the total coins is nothing but an effort to pump the price so people can dump while probably crippling if not killing the coin in the process. I'm heavily invested in this coin, I have over 25 masternodes but I'll be voting no.

You are only looking at it from the worst angle possible. Mining shouldn't be completely eliminated, just reduced. This would still allow miners to get into DNET but the main method of investing in DNET should be the infrastructure itself. This goes back to the whole PoW verus PoS debate where PoW is just a waste of money. By reducing PoW (not completely eliminating), more people would have to directly invest in DNET itself by having to purchase it and this helps DNET directly since more demand for DNET on exchages = rising market cap, more exposure, + more

Not sure how that would affect the project but sounds like a good idea.

it would only benefit nexus, there is no negatives to this that I can see.

I liked your previous work more, just need to make the E a little smaller and maybe bolder.

Added some new repositories to Nexusoft of current developments beyond just Nexus Core.
https://github.com/Nexusoft

They are all under development, so I figured to make Nexus Components and Utilities more open to the community.

Thank You,
Viz.

Nexus should reach out to Microsoft
So far coins like iota, emercoin, and ethereum have signed onto azure. Nexus should be able to as well.

1) clone shitcoin
2) make PoS 1903248203532%
3) ask for btc

this could have worked over a year ago

Cut the coin supply to 20M, 60M is way too many.

This would be a good max. amount.

Like Bitcoin.

Because adding 50 million coins in the next 5 month to a 10 million amount now will depress this coin.

I would support a proposal for supply decrease, continued distribution along with high inflation for no clear cut purpose does not really benefit a coin....
Gaining popularity through proper distribution worked on alts once upon a time, not anymore.

Could we get a block explorer that shows the current coin supply?
-snip-

Yeah I guess it's time for me to start learning about the console.

Thank you!

type getinfo into console and you can see supply

Yup, the protocol is fixed and low-maintenance. I've seen a lot of projects that keep adding features to chase new users, but actually I think it's important to keep the project consistent, reliable and understandable. HOdlcoin is a simple proposition and elegantly implemented. It's Bitcoin with interest and bonus interest for early adopters and HOdlers.

Anyone who can understand Bitcoin can understand HOdlcoin.

Something I saw from previous projects is that users really like to see their HOdlings grow. Something very satisfying about that, so HOdlcoin is really designed with this user feedback in mind. It's a slow burner, so it won't suddenly show up on CMC at 10mil, but as we see addition of exchanges, services, pools, miners, stats and time . . we will see a gradual rise in supply and market cap.

Is it possible for you to port over the lottery function from your previous projects?
It would be a nice extra addition for HODL and cant hurt

Sigh.

Huh I was just trying to suggest a possible + easy use case that could be implemented for HODL.
It is not to chase new users but for existing users to use their hodl in some way + it would be beneficial for HODL economy since it could mitigate some of the inflation.
Did not mean to offend in any way.

what is the best way to stake this?? more small amounts or  less bigger amounts?

and leave wallet open or open it after a few days?

I would say chunks of larger amounts is best, leave it open to stake now because PoS rewards decrease everyday by 10
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Sucash - zk SNARKS without .. blocks on: March 01, 2016, 10:04:37 PM
No IPO or ICO and first Zcash fork, I'm in. Grin

There will be no fork of Zcash, I just used their zk-snarks method and structure as a foundation of directions I am going.

Interesting. I will be on the look for more information.

Max is helping Ribbit... $2,000,000!
https://bnktothefuture.com/pitches/2793/_ribbit-me-a-universal-loyalty-solution-built-on-blockchain-technology.html
But he can't even be bothered to do anything for START? Why not invest the $2m into START and try to do what Ribbit is doing? Why help ribbit when START needs the most help?
This is like you see a kid that is starving and naked on the street but you choose the help the kid that has clothes and some food already.
You should be helping the kid that needs it most!
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Krypton KR, Ethereum - Based Cryptocurrency with Smart Contracts on: March 01, 2016, 05:39:15 PM
covertress I have some questions I'd like to be answered, and please don't take them as intended to be malicious toward you or KR, they are only for the sake of clarification. You've said that you'll use some ICO funds to travel to BTC conferences to tell people about KR. What I want to know is, what is your selling point? What is it that you are going to promote about KR to get people interested? People knowledgable about crypto are going to immediately ask you what sets KR apart from ETH, and I feel like its a legitimate question.

Good question. Why should anyone choose krypton over ethereum?

From a technical point of view there is not much difference between Ethereum and Krypton except for Krypton being less inflationary.
When Ethereum was promoted in bitcoin conferences it was a promotional sale, basically sell the premine to fund development.
Most of the 18 million dollars and a big chunk of the 12 million foundation coins were spent before Ethereum was even released.
Any Ethereum development that is taking place now will depend entirely on venture capital, and community support.

What Covertress is offering here is not to promote a premine sale, she will promote a product that already exists and is owned by people.
Ethereum in the end is a product and not a currency. So is Krypton. I know the terms angel investors and foundation coins seem more
legit, but trust me in the end what you get is a huge chunk of the premine in the hands of the devs.

When an entity ( Bank/Company/Institution ) decides to invest in a product they will consider what the product can do and will certainly
look at all the alternatives. An android phone can do what an IOS phone do, yet one can not eliminate the other.
Just like developers submit their apps to Apple Store and Google Play, Dapps will have more than one platform to run on.

So there is room in the market for Expanse, Shift and Krypton. A clone being synonymous with bad on bitcointalk does not
mean all clones are created equal. There were a few clones of bitcoin and nothing set them apart from bitcoin but some small
technical differences, yet they were a big success. And yes there were hundreds of clones that were created that went nowhere.

Any entity that sees this will stay as far away from Krypton as possible -

Distribution:  The initial 10 million KR will be offered as a swap/CFC according to this schedule:
- Week one: Release week, no distribution, KR can only be mined.
- Week two: 4 Million KR will be offered to be swapped for Gaia at a ratio of 5:1 (5 Gaia for each KR)
- Week three: KR will be offered for sale at 6000 SATS per coin in BTC only
- Week four: KR will be offered at 8000 SATS or Gaia at a ratio of 8:1 (8 Gaia for each KR)
- At the end of week four all remaining KR and swapped Gaia will be burned.
- Gaia will remain on exchanges, KR is not intended to end the Gaia chain.
- Covertress will manage and promote Krypton. KR will follow an independent development route.

Save some of the money you raise and don't bother going to any conferences because you will have no serious entity interested.
You should just go buy yourself something nice, that would actually be a better use of the money than attending a conference to promote krypton.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCT] C-Bit - Elegantly Solving Bitcoin's Blockchain Problem [SHA256][POW] on: March 01, 2016, 05:28:36 PM
Guys its ok.  Bank_sy isn't even being that critical but he could stop repeating himself at this point because I don't think a satisfactory explanation as to why he should change his mind is going to pop up, nor is it necessary for you guys to come up with one.  You should realize though that from outside perspective he really just wants to find a reason to get involved with your coin and to see it degrade into a sort of argument is probably just because of the forum format, anonymity, etc.  So chill on that.  Maybe a better explanation of some of the whitepaper things will come in the future.

Now someone answer my question above about the bravo pool please  Grin

Not 100% accurate but well said.
As jookly said, I am not even being that critical.
In a nut shell I am simply trying to tell everyone this simple reality:
For an altcoin to succeed it needs appeal.
If the only appeal in C-bit is 2MB supply then it is not enough for success.
From what I can see, 2MB blocks that appears to be the only 'innovation' offered by C-bit and I do not think that counts as innovation.

What happens if something is proposed that is outside the scope of your developer skills?
You should inform the community of what is within the realm of possibility at least.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCT] C-Bit - Elegantly Solving Bitcoin's Blockchain Problem [SHA256][POW] on: March 01, 2016, 05:21:41 PM
this man just keep coming back and harassed this and promote eclipse anon, need to take ACTION and report to moderator get him ban

How am I harassing? I am raising valid concerns and they still remain.
Also I never once promoted Eclipse in here, I simply brought up eclipse as an example of a new coin which actually achieves something (fixing the flaw in SDC).
Simple statistics dictates that eclipse is most like just another shitcoin but hey at least it is actually doing something other than 2MB block size lol.
You guys are funny.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EC] ▲ Eclipse ▲ First Cryptographically Anon Based on BTC ▲ Mine Now! on: March 01, 2016, 05:18:55 PM
Why are you guys spamming the SDC thread and Slack?

I don't see any spamming in the thread... I posted the 'fix' to SDCs anonymity bug because it concerns SDC, does it not?
What I posted is very relevant to SDC. It's not like I was talking about rainbows and butterflies.

You claim to post a fix, but your posts contain much more than the actual proposed fix. You're posting an advertisement for this coin that attacks SDC. Twice you've done this. It doesn't concern SDC.

The devs have implemented a fix on the testnet awhile ago and have been testing since.

I'd focus on your own coin if I were you.

You sound to me like a scared SDC bagholder.  Did I hit the nail on the head??

He sounds exactly like that.
I posted the same concerns in XMR thread and managed to receive alot of input and we managed to have some productive discussions about it
I post in SDC and auto deleted and called spamming.

My post was a very reasonable one and was not an attack on SDC in anyway.
It looks like my post was deleted, SDC thread has heavier censoring than I expected.... What are you guys so afraid of? I had interest in SDC before but it is quickly fading.
They may be testing a fix but if other ways to fix are present, they should be looking at those ways too (if they are competent devs).
This is not 'my' coin.. It is simply a coin that claims to have fixed the flaw in SDC so I have taken some interest in it.
