186  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BTC On Tilt] - wtf? on: January 29, 2012, 06:36:59 AM
Something about this just sounds all kinds of wrong.

Did BTCOnTilt get popped by the US gov't or something, and we just don't know about it yet?

Without communication to the contrary I think they are borderline scammers at this point.

Looking over the remains of a number of seemingly dead bitcoin services I thought it might be worthwhile to compile a list of these, anyone else want to help start compiling a list?

Here are a few to start us off

I made this easy, just make lotto's on http://bitcashlotto.com/ and drive traffic to the ones you make, set a fee for your take and you are good to go.

194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Feds kill Megaupload... are you buying Namecoins yet? on: January 21, 2012, 07:52:53 PM
This is disgusting. This is a clear "shut up" message to all companies that protested against SOPA. The level of authoritarianism and arrogance of the USA government is outstanding already, and it's growing fast.

I hope American citizens remember one day why their founding fathers gave them the second amendment. Its reason to exist isn't only so you can protect your home and family from burglars.

While I agree with you, it also is a clear message that SOPA/PIPA are NOT NEEDED and existing laws seem to cover things quite well.  Megaupload had substantial non-infringing uses, and that is what (I hope) the internet community is trying to protect.

I also object to the fact that anyone was arrested this early, let alone the number of people.  They clearly wanted to DESTROY megaupload, because even if they are found not guilty huge damage has already been done.    Where there civil lawsuits first that I did not hear about?

That's what I call the "yankee way" of doing things, from the Civil War, to Alabama in 1965, to Iraq in 2003 we see it time and time again that no one and no thing is safe from the raging arrogance of the tiny subset of Americans entitled with beauracratic wrath and moral hubris of being "right."   Like the Union Army burning to the ground http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Order_No._11_(1863) 4 counties of Missouri.

They would burn down and destroy all of America if they thought it was in their personal interests to do so.
195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Megadumb on: January 21, 2012, 07:22:58 PM
Why would they seize cars? The cars have nothing to do with internet piracy, and holding them as "evidence" of profits would be circumstantial at best.

It is the United States government.  They can arrest anyone in the world (or assassinate them) for "national security reasons".  If a police pulls over a driver with a lot of money in the car, the police can seize that money and force you to prove where you got it before you can get it back.  The United States government only wants Americans to do 2 things, hyper-consume and pay taxes.  The Federal Reserve Note is only backed by the taxpayers of the United States and the United States government will go anywhere in the world to seize any assets they can.

The author knows the score.  Its too bad "typical white people" go along with this and in many cases rush headlong into a career to be a part of this evil machine.
196  Economy / Speculation / Re: zero hour for the downtrend on: January 20, 2012, 08:02:18 AM
Wow, someone sold 288btc and that 5k wall disappeared, probably another fake bitcoinica position.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: zero hour for the downtrend on: January 20, 2012, 07:59:41 AM
Whoever just cleared the last of my old sells at $6.50 has my gratitude.  Of course, if it hits $7 before it hits $6 from here, I'll wish I hadn't said anything publicly.

I also made a bad sell on 6.5 but not too bad.  I think the time is ripe for another major sell.

199  Economy / Speculation / Re: And we have the manipulator who caused the crash on: January 18, 2012, 03:10:07 AM
Wow, what an epic thread, with an epic smackdown when he was liquidated.  This is far more entertaining than some TV drama.

It made my day when he said he got liquidated. Now its hilarious because he says he is calling the cops

sorry I missed the source of this, link?
200  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BTC On Tilt] - wtf? on: January 16, 2012, 05:44:32 AM
Extreme lameness.  Unfortunately a developer scammed me out of 200 btc to make a new btc poker site a few months ago and have not been able to fill the void.  I can recommend Strike Sapphire for non US players.
