It's called the "Great Plan" dummy.

Tell me more.

184  Other / Off-topic / Re: Freemasons Shut Down Public Access to Somethingaweful Bitcoin (SA) Forums on: September 01, 2011, 11:43:09 PM
Many people fail to realize something VERY important here.

* Somethingaweful Forums have been attacking bitcoin from the start.

They were finding a lot of humour with bitcoin and the people (such as your good self) who reside within the bitcoin community. I found a lot of it very funny. There is a real issue when something cannot be mocked, criticised or openly debated. That is all that discussion thread on SA is, a debate. It has no agenda, no planning or any steering.

*Members of something aweful have come over here to troll and try to "out" Bruce (which I don't care about or disagree with).
No, they are trying to wake up some of you with evidence and facts based on Bruce's own words, his past business dealings and information from official court documents. Yes, Somethingawful likes to out scammers and fraudsters. They seem to have their sights set on Bruce, and from what I have read, rightly so
Quote
* Some of those same members have displayed POLICE OFFICER tactics and conversation HERE on the site in their postings.
What?  Huh
Quote
* Many police officers are Blue Lodge Freemason members of the 3rd Degree.
Oh, you're one of 'those types of people'?  Grin
Quote
* As soon as I started trolling their forum and took the caption about the Freemasons trolling on the bitcoin forum, no less than 3 hours later, NO PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE FORUMS.
No, the site was experiencing heavy usage, and access is then restricted to forum members only until the server load reduces. Pay $10 and join in on the Somethingawful thread. I'm sure they would love to have a debate with you on there.

Something is TRULY Awful around here.

I'm going to break down and register if it's not back soon. This whole clusterfuck blows without it.

Seriously, do it. You won't regret it. I'm reading a load of threads in the Comedy Goldmine (where all 5 star threads are archived). Amazing stuff.

The bitcoin thread though is a jewel. I've just pulled all my money and BTC's out of any exchanges, and I'm going to sit out with the 'paid professional trolls' and laugh at this escapade.

I just hope bitcoin survives this shitstorm Smiley
186  Other / Off-topic / Re: Real Evidence the Freemasons Troll the Bitcoin Forum from SomethingAweful on: September 01, 2011, 11:27:35 PM
The way I understand it, during times of high load, the forum restricts the access to non members. Pay $10 for an account. I did the other day, and I can't stop laughing over some of the threads. There is an excellent tech subforum too. It is a surprisingly diverse community, not one of 'paid professional trolls' at all Wink

So seriously, for f*** sake, the OP must be a troll or deluded. You too Flippro. Either way, it is entertaining to watch.

Carry on.

So for now lets look at alternatives to Mtgox so users can start taking their coins off that exchange. So far the biggest contender is https://www.tradehill.com/

What do you guys think?

I'm going to transfer any cash funds to my account and my remaining BTC reserves to an offline usb stick.

Until this whole situation is resolved, I don't know who to trust.

One thing for certain is that I will be staying well away from people who, after the evidence that has been discovered, still rally around to protect Bruce.

[Edited to add] I'm not a troll either. I'm a professional IT specialist in my 40's.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox and bruce wagner on: September 01, 2011, 11:51:49 AM

As I said, we do not have enough information at this point to make any decision, especially when it comes to Bold Funding. We are still investigating this on our own and will provide updates once we reach a conclusion.

Did you read the official court judgement for the case? http://www.scribd.com/doc/63630294/Bruce-Wagner-Bold-Funding-Fraud-Judgement

It lists the people he scammed. It lists the lies he told them. It states that he was operating without a license. At the trial, their lawyer couldn't provide a SINGLE NAME of a person who was helped by the company, stating that none of these people could be traced. Considering that his company was meant to be helping people stay in their homes, it shows that this was a scam from the offset. He didn't even turn up for the this case, and he fled the state without paying a penny to anyone.

Now tell me if this is truly someone who can be trusted?

As for the other Bruce denialist who asked me to prove that I have large(ish) dealing with MtGox, I'm not the one who is a convicted fraudster who is wanting to set up a charity escrow account. I'm not the one who was promoting a company which ripped off 51%+ of people's savings. I'm not the one under this spotlight.

So I give up. There will always be people who will fight for Bruce, as bruce is a very good conman. I hope that none of you get burned. You can't say you haven't been warned.
189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mtgox and bruce wagner on: September 01, 2011, 09:11:25 AM
I've been thinking about switching exchanges for a while. I no longer trust your company or judgements any more after this thread. Thanks for the 9 months worth of business. I'll trust my money elsewhere.

[Edit] You said: "I never heard of him running with someone's cash"

I think that was the sentence that killed it for me. He ran away with desperate people's cash after offering them a mortgage service that he had no intention of keeping. He was tried in absentia, and he has not paid the money that he was ordered to by the courts nor did he pay a penny in compensation to his victims.

They must love watching Bruce with all his toys and his posh NY apartment and TV studio and his jet-setting lifestyle.

If you can't see that Bruce is a confidence trickster, then it is your loss. I'm out.

Any post about bitcoins that mentions B**** W***** gets moved to off-topic, yet threads about 'What are your favourite books?' remain in Bitcoin Discussion?

194  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Is There Any PROOF the FBI was Contacted in Relation to Mybitcoin.com? on: August 31, 2011, 09:39:17 AM
Being a non-US resident, I suppose that it would be pointless myself contacting the FBI?

I didn't lose too many BTC's with mybitcoin, but I am willing to file a report if anyone thinks it is worthwhile.

The FBI has field offices in many countries. This page here will let you selcet contact info by country for them. http://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/legat

That is something that I did not know. There is an office in London, and I will be contacting them very shortly (just as soon as the caffeine kicks in).

Thanks Smiley
195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Has Bruce talked at all about the accusations of fraud against him? on: August 31, 2011, 04:54:39 AM
I hope the community would quickly realize we need someone else or something else representing Bitcoin.

I think we are starting to read off the same page bbit Wink

This is my only concern. As I posted in the in the bitcoin discussion thread, I really do care about bitcoins. I've invested a lot of money in it over the past 9 months, and I trade a lot with BTC's. I don't want a huge PR mess explode in our faces to the likes of 'Crypto Currency often associated with fraudsters and paedophiles promoted by a convicted fraudster and potential paedophile'. There is already a lack of confidence with BitCoin which is reflected in the recent trading prices.

While it would be stupid to deny that there are a lot of trolls on SA, SA is not a troll site. You should check it out sometime - it is a huge community, and they discuss many things. It is foolish and naive not to look at the evidence that they have uncovered regarding Bruce and Ed.

I think that we need to look at the evidence, while ignoring obvious trolls, and get to the bottom of this situation.

This looks really interesting Smiley I wish you good luck with your venture, and I have a feeling that I am going to be sending some BTC's your way very soon Smiley
197  Economy / Marketplace / Re: MyBitcoin was probably a scam - and if it was, here's who's responsible on: August 31, 2011, 04:07:57 AM

29 posts and I've never heard of you before on this forum and all of sudden you care to be posting everywhere? There are dozen of you. You all from SA?

I've been on the forum for a few days. No I did not come from SA, but I have since registered an SA account this evening as I told you in a previous thread.

I joined this forum mainly due to the revelations regarding Bruce. Believe it or not, I care about bitcoins, and I don't want to see a huge PR mess exploding in our faces to the likes of "Internet crypto currency often associated with paedophiles and scammers is promoted by a convicted fraudster and possible paedophile".

If you check my post history, I also post in non Bruce threads Wink

[E2A] Why won't you explain your connections with OnlyOneTV? And could you please explain why you are attacking anyone who has anything negative to say about bruce, while at the same time ignoring the multitude of clear evidence that is laid out for all to see?
198  Economy / Marketplace / Re: MyBitcoin was probably a scam - and if it was, here's who's responsible on: August 31, 2011, 03:59:59 AM
Also, Bruce was heavily promoting MyBitcoin on his show. While he claimed that friends and family lost bitcoins when MBC ceased operations, we only have HIS word for that. He was also heavily involved in the BitCoin 'Police', and was able to steer the investigation in whatever direction he wanted. We also only have HIS word that a report was filed with the FBI.

It seems like a classic scam to me.

If I lived in the US, I would be filing an immediate report with the police. I hope US bitcoin users who lost money do file reports.

199  Economy / Marketplace / Re: MyBitcoin was probably a scam - and if it was, here's who's responsible on: August 31, 2011, 03:54:42 AM
As someone who lost BTC's with mybitcoin, I'd really like this thread to stay in the Bitcoin Discussion thread. This is very relevant to BTC's.

I've been reading the evidence as it has unfolded on SomethingAwful, and my instinct is that we have all been taken for a ride by an experienced confidence trickster.

While there have been a lot of posts regarding Bruce's sexual preferences relating to Pattaya, while that evidence is damning, none of the evidence is conclusive proof that he is a paedophile.

But his mortgage fraud, his spamming email company and his defaulting on rent, linked with his abject denial that child prostitution even exists in Thailand, well, let's just say that Bruce is the LAST person to be a spokesperson for Bitcoin. At least we know how he can afford an expensive apartment and studio in NY though.

I hope that the sponsors of his show are made aware of the recent revelations.
