That is good news BB is back online after this attack i hope this all go smoothly and in healthy way, i am also facing little problem with roll speed that is slower than before.
Our site seems to be as fast as ever, maybe MoneyPot is under attack again. I'm just speculating, but I can't see anything happening on our server which would be causing a slowdown. |

Hi Everybody,
after a long and busy weekend, we're back!!!
We've changed some code, removed some issues and hardened some other parts of the site/code and added better logging. While we won't reveal exactly what we've done, we're pretty sure that the result of our changes is a site which removes some potential issues and should hold up better in the face of us being an attack target. Some core parts of the code have changed and while we're pretty sure that we've been thorough, there may be some hickups as the new code is put through it's paces. Please report such issues here and you can be sure that we'll do our best to resolve any issues as soon as possible.
Please note: If you're using a bot, you need to get your new API access key from the user account area.
Chances are I've missed a thing or two, but it's almost 5AM and I need to go to bed.
Bonuses, Raffle Tickets and other assorted stuff will be taken care of tomorrow once I'm lucid again. Apologies for the delay and downtime, it wasn't by our choice.
Please also note: we're increasing the bounty for security issues which can lead to loss of bankroll or players funds to 3 BTC.

Hi Everybody,
as you know, we've been successfully attacked today and lost some BTC (not a huge amount, but still). As a precaution, we've put our site into maintenance mode (in effect, it's down and when accessing it you're being redirected to our maintenance page) until we reopen. To recap, here is the situation:
1) Everybody who lost BTC in the attack has been compensated. So this means that none of our players lost money permanently.
2) The site is in maintenance mode while we:
a) Investigate how the attack was performed. We know that the attack was performed directly against Moneypot's API and not through the BetterBets API entry point. There is however a concern that the information necessary to perform this attack was somehow obtained from our server so this necessitates the maintenance mode we've put the site under.
b) Further improve some of the security precautions we put into our API already
c) Audit the code to ensure that no sensitive information ever leaves our server
d) Increase logging to make sure that we better catch hacking attempts and the output they generate
3) We expect to remain in maintenance mode for 24-48 hours. Hopefully it will be on the lower end of that scale, but we want to make sure that things are as good as we know how to make them before turning the site back on again.
So, in summary: This is an unexpected and unfortunate incident but we're dealing with it as best as we know. We'll be back soon and hopefully be better and safer than ever before.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We're in this for the long run and we'll be back soon.

Added your site to http://dicesites.com for stats and also made a BetterBets provably fair verifier  While making this verifier I noticed a few things:
1) What is "Client Seed Sequence"? It seems to be not used at all.
2) Could you show the "server secret" (which is MP's roll) on the bet detail popup? Obviously used for verifying the rolls, and it's not very convenient to let the players go to 2 sites to copy the data.
3) IMO, you should generate a random client seed before every bet in the browser. If a player bets with the same client seed every time, in theory MoneyPot could give "next server seeds" based on their betting pattern. So if a player is betting high every time, they would give low numbers based on the same repeated client seed. I am not accusing MoneyPot of this AT ALL, RHavar seems a trustworthy person to me, but provably fair is all about not needing to trust the site owner.
4) AFAIK you should allow the client seed to be a number in the range of 0 and 2^32-1. However you are saving it now a signed INT which has a limit of 2^31-1. You should make it unsigned so the player can put the full range of numbers as client seed. In theory again MP could influence the outcomes with the information that the client seed will always be limited/low.
5) It is possible to directly link to my verifier with: a link like this (ss = salt, ssh = server seed, sr = secret, cr = client seed) There are several sites that do link to my verifiers, which make it easier for the players to verify their bets, but it's obv up to you 1) It's the number of bets which have been taken with this client seed 2) Yes, will add. 3) That sort of defeats the purpose of letting the user set a client seed, doesn't it? Or do you mean generate a client seed based on the user's chosen client seed? 4) Will fix. 5) Yes, will add to the bet popup screen. When I go on the demo page all I get are JS popups saying "Error processing request".
Can't see any bets while this is happening.
Browser was Chrome.
Hello, it is both sad and ironic your first experience was a negative one, we will fix the demo version shortly. I believe the API update may have caused this to break. Yes, that is correct. The API implementation required some rather invasive changes since some of the assumptions of online sessions simply don't apply to API connections. As in the course of implementing the API, I managed to nuke the guest mode. Working on a fix right now. |

I dont have any inside information regarding the DDOS attack as I am not part of the team ( merely just helping taking care in answering some slight issue using my player - based experiences whenever the official team isnt around here to answer it ) . The above explanation is purely speculations of mine however it seems it is highly unlikely because Moneypot was the one that was DDOSed . I have forwarded this to the development team and I will just let them answer this promptly ( should not be long though ) -image snip- I don't think it was a result of the recent DDoS, one because it was there from the beginning, and two because it has nothing to do with moneypot integration (directly). Had seen it when I visited betterbets.io directly, and clicked Demo, but thought it was the issue on my end, then. There is certainly no such trouble when you visit through moneypot or login. Not much of an issue to be honest. Ahh thanks for clarifying anyway Im a dumb with tech things or so  however I based that on mine and several user experiences that during the last DDOS the pop up happenned quite a bit so I thought it could be the same thing however I myself wasnt pretty much confident with that as well ( bolded references ) Certainly not a problem though if you are not on demo page because you will log in automatically through moneypot and of course this issue is kinda "hidden" because most of the regulars account is automatically log in so no one found this small issue before and apart from that no other issue is found though  Yeah, I seem to have broken something during the last update. Does this mean that all cashback and affiliate payments are prorated (such that you don't NEED 5 BTC wagered by affiliates to get anything from them)? Or what is/isn't?
You get 15 % of the house edge for every BTC that is wagered by your referall which means that if your referall wagered 1000 satoshis, you will get 1.5 satoshi back but it will be save on the database until you get a total of 10,000 sats ( because the peer2peer transfer in Moneypot require a minimum of 100 bits . For the cashback it is rewarded based on each tier (references on Bjorn's lovely picture) , The cashback club needs a minimum of 5 BTC wagered weekly to get it otherwise you will not get any back Ahhhhh, that explains it! Thanks for the explanation, . Also, tossing Ryan a PM since it looks like the lag is back (seeing 2 bets/s across the BB site now, I'm sitting at about 0.4 bets/s). Yeah, our betting speed it pretty dismal right now although our server is pretty much idle. So it must be MoneyPot being under attack again. Hopefully Ryan will figure out a way to rectify this soon. |

i was just betting on betterbets and everything seems to be back to normal. earlier in the day it was like ranlo just said and was getting 1 bet per every 3-4 seconds, but now its all working like normal
Right now is where I'm at 1.3 bets/s now... the site loads quickly and all, but the betting speed itself is really slow. Just took some screenshots of the "All Bets" tab to see if it's just me, and I'm not seeing anyone above 1-1.5 bets per second right now. There are even a lot of seconds where NO bets are going through... like you'll see the bets go from 1:30:05 to 1:30:07, without skipping sequence. Yeah, things are pretty slow again, I'm guessing Moneypot is still under attack. Our server is pretty much idle, so it must be on their side. Hopefully we'll get this situation resolved soon. |

Weird. Just tried the site on 2 devices, and I can't do anything. It's not even showing the other bets from others, my history, etc. On none of my devices can I get it to load properly
Everything working fine on my end. It could be either connection issue or the last update that pushes something wrong on your end. Did your account got automatically logged out ? If not then I suggest you to try logging it out and logging it in again ( sometimes this do the trick though) Is this like connection issue? A speculation, it could be just I can't load my account tab. Always getting error message "Error processing your request ... please try again a little later" when I clicked Your Account tab. Everything working perfectly on my end. A connection issue more likely ( happened to me alot when my connection is bad ). Can you try to log out and login again , kindly report back if the same thing still happen though Just feel a little bit heavier to load everything..
Well I dont know if this is the cause but alternatively you can use https://betterbets.io/app/game/dice/# to use the old UI ( this barely consume large bandwith ) because sometimes the new UI is harder to load if you got a bad connection . Also once you load the page, try to click to any other tabs aside from the "all bets tab" and see if that did the trick ( if you got a bad connection, that could be the issue though ) Cleared cache, no luck. I can view my balance (faucet, deposit, withdraw buttons do nothing). I can view plinko multipliers but can't bet. I can view total bets/cashback/etc. for everyone but no bets (including my own)... I can view tickets but can't see my user settings... And I've relogged twice. Nothing is changing. I am having Lobos look into this sorry for your troubles Ranlo let us know if your PC experience is affected or if just mobile only, thanks! Our MySql server is freaking out over pulling values from the 40+M rows bets tables. I know how to fix this, but it may take a day or two. There is a performance issue, but I've never seen it take 5 min. Not sure why it would take that long for you, it usually goes quite rapidly for me; for some reason the performance you're seeing seems to be at the really bad end of the spectrum. I had checked BCT before trying the site again today. Loaded up the site a minute or so ago and it's quick again. Maybe there was just high activity at the time, and that was causing issues for my end, or it could be location-based or something. Well, MySql does index dives occasionally ... this means that it analyzes table data to ensure that index data is still correct; if it isn't, the index is updated. If you're unlucky enough to try to load the page right around the index dive time, you might see pretty bad performance for a few minutes because it's crunching through 40M rows on multiple indexes. Glad to see your situation has normalized again; I'll still work on improving things, but at least there's not rush to it now. |

the weekly affiliate and cashback figures are in.
We'll be paying 0.0066783217 BTC in affiliate bonuses and 3.05 BTC in cashback bonuses. As you all know, we had a very successful week in terms of volume and we're totally happy to pay our larger players their cashback bonuses.
However, we are very sorry to say, that we must ask our cashback recipients to be a little patient. Bjorn, our marketing star who handles our liquid funds in his personal & encrypted wallet, has had a family emergency and had to hit the road to go visit his father. I'm not sure how long he'll be gone, but I would guess that he will be offline for at least 48 hours.
I've paid out the affiliate bonuses from the little BTC dust I had in my account, but I can't cover the cashback bonuses myself without resorting to buying BTC (for which there is no need, since we have the BTC in Bjorn's wallet).
I am very sorry for this situation, but this is one of these instances where real life intrudes into our crypto world and take priority. As such, I ask for your indulgence for a day or two and we'll get everything sorted out.
Let me be perfectly clear about this: cashback bonuses will be paid out as soon as Bjorn is back home behind his computer.

I'd like to make a new request for BB: a bot for Plinko. I see it working like this:
1) You can choose the color, or even have it change between them on each roll (like >|< on dice)
2) You choose the wager, and whether or not you want it to increase on each roll won/lost
3) You choose how many Plinko chips to have active at once (i.e., 5 would mean as soon as one chip falls off, another would drop)
4) You choose a delay for chips falling
5) You choose left/center/right-aligned
I think this would be a great addition!
