So, what differentiate dark masternode and normal masternode? Also is the development still active? I read that there will be coin swap and you will replace the code base with the new one to fix all 8bit problem? Is it true? If its true, then i guess, it will be some kind of revolution then? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) 1. No difference 2. Yes 3. Yes

Hello, 1024 coins will be required to set-up a masternode.

Ok, as promised here is the full blockchain I got from my Linux wallet as a backup about a week ago: https://mega.nz/#!ygViUI4b!YorYjEl2BKZj6u5m6AcSCQkQSGKqbBshY1VOfCtWerMI make backups periodically, as this chain tends to fork due to small number of active clients. It is 1.23GB. I believe it is the correct chain, as it seems to be moving well. But as far as I understand, there is not much means to check it. EDIT: ok, I can confirm now this is the correct blockchain. I have made test deposits to Bittrex and Cryptopia, and both went ok, so this is the same chain exchanges are running on.Have you removed orphans from this file?

Geez, people, relax! I'll be back on Tue. Links to wallets are published in the thread, you have to find them. Current code base has masternodes (payments are not enforced), so new one has them (on steroids).

Can someone give me the lowdown on this coin...is it dead or dying.
It's very healthy. We had several forks in the past, finally it runs smoothly for many months. However, code base will be replaced and all coins will be swapped into a new chain. It doesn't look like a wallet is working, at least it is still on Bittrex but is there anything coming down the pipeline.
The wallet is fine, both on Bittrex and Cryptopia. Yobit wallet is out of sync, but that's pretty common scenario there. Also, how many coins are officially outstanding? About 700 K Is that right? Thanks for the info in advance ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) We need to ping coinmarketcap again, coin supply is approx 1.1M. I am asking because I am interested in the coin- that's a good thing right?
I am a software developer, not a marketer, sorry ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

OK folks - I removed my accusation, you can also clean-up your posts so we will not fulfill spammer's needs.

Goodbye folks.
Soooo, after some interesting times working with some pretty cool people in this community, I'm going to call it quits.
Simply put, as I've become involved in some other projects, I no longer have the time or patience to think about 8bit anymore. (I've been "avoiding" it for a few months anyway at this point)
As the hosting for the 8bit faucet isn't free, And 8-bit-party didn't use the greater 8bit site I wrote anyway, I'm going to be ripping down the site asap and the server itself will be dark asap as well.
If anyone would like the code for the faucet, I'll be happy to provide it.
It's been a good ride folks, and the best of luck to all of you. Cheers.
I am sad to know that you are leaving us, anyway, i would be happy to keep some of your codes, as i plan to create a repo with some usefull informations/codes related to altcoins and their usage. please do not delet your account, you may feel the need to come back later. Good luck with your projects. This is definitely brilliant idea to keep allZuckedUp's stuff online, although I am not able to handle it. With my currently extremely limited "crypto" time I work on the new 8BIT code exclusively, no other, even related (sub)projects can be included to my task list. I completely suspended even my pro bono activities related to scammer called mastertrader777. So if we all agree that it is something worth efforts we have to find someone who will migrate & host it.

This is actually why some things have to be kept private as long as possible ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif)

This can happen at least in following cases:
- modified / old wallet with masternode payments disabled - masternode list propagation issue, if given node does not receive MN list then it will not submit a payment
Since masternode payments are not enforced then even if your node sees masternodes it will accept non-masternode blocks gracefully. I would ask more people to stake to minimize this effect, however it might encourage more people to join staking party without masternode payments... So to be honest I prefer to focus on new chain instead of improving anything related to this outgoing one.
If anyone is about to run a masternode I recommend staking instead.

How many masternodes are active? My node sees only three MNs by some reason...
So does mine. Personally I still have not restored my MNs because of efforts with syncing and incoming swap. I see I am not alone with this unwillingness. I am on a block 735771, "8bitd getblockhash 735771" gives "1251c9c4a722221f631c5729b119695ef49ccc9d7cabe0112ac0719b4a895296".
Am I on the correct chain?
Yes, you are. See http://explorer.8-bit.ga/block/1251c9c4a722221f631c5729b119695ef49ccc9d7cabe0112ac0719b4a895296

Yes, full coin swap will be performed. However, users will not have to do anything besides wallet update, same addresses will be used (and even current wallet.dat should be compatibile).

Interesting, i just would like to ask if there is a way to speed up the block download rather then use the bootstrap. Maybe something can be done regarding masternodes ? Is it possible to have an overall check list of what had been done, and what is still to be done ?
To be honest I am not going to do with current code base and blockchain... blockchain is healthy and moving perfect but since it brought us so many problems we have to replace it. We should be doing it at the end of January-February. However, after Christmas I will publish a fresh bootstrap file so just stay tuned.

I will be back on Monday.
Khm... which Monday..? Blue one or manic one - you pick. Not publishing update yet as we are still testing new code - currently on the third testnet.

IMPORTANTTo everyone with synced wallet: go to the console and type: If you will see a different value than: 8a30b973f8a48141ea68077e980c96f0d940dcb07aa8e68857aad0c37deaf06a
means you are on the fork which will be orphaned with new update. Disable staking (or just shut down your wallet) and wait for an update (soon). Block explorer and 90% of nodes (including Bittrex) are on the right chain.

We will open a new, not moderated thread with a new code base release and coin swap announcement. Till this time let's just grit our teeth and wait ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) Why no new thread now? Because I don't want to have first pages related to dealing with issues we have now... HOWEVER if you open a new, MODERATED thread that you will end with a link to the final one - I am completely fine with it. Basically people always dig and bump abandoned threads what confuses other newcomers.

Three questions:
Are OP's chat logs accurate?
Did you promise to refund fees plus losses in the event of a net loss?
Did you do as you promised?
