181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ECA] Electra ⚡ | POW/POS | NIST5 | Super Rewards Bonanza on: June 29, 2017, 03:02:34 AM
I think my computer ended up bluescreening for some reason and when I try to start Electra it pops the following:

It then crashes and closes out.  Actually if I ignore then it did go on to open.  Looks like it won't sync the last 7 blocks though.

182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 - 11 GPU Rig, which PSUs to choose? on: June 29, 2017, 12:08:30 AM
I've had multiple systems with 11 x NVIDIA 1080 Ti's and 11 x AMD RX 580's running simultaneously without any issues.

Great then point to a guide with the specifics of how it is done.  As I said most of the posts here complain about not being able to run Nvidia cards on PCI-E splitters or getting them working above 7 cards.  IF you were able to find a combination of parts that allows it please share the info.

Is there any mod/admin here?
I just changed my password for something with over 30 chars. But the password to log in is limited to not even half of it, lol.
I just can't log in now because my password is too long.

Then I tried to recover through my email but or I forgot what email I used or it is totally bugged.

Please any mod help me recover my account!
Bump, please t_t
can a mod send me a PM or anything

Also waiting for my invalid pin request, sent PM two days ago with acc deatails..

There have been a rash of people complaining about accounts being hijacked.  More than likely its because user/pass was shared with other sites.   My guess is the email on your account has been changed and therefore your reset is going to a different email address.   You'll likely need to contact the admin to get it resolved.   Always use a password manager with unique passwords on every site.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: June 28, 2017, 11:59:19 PM
Honestly, it seems like an inside job.

No people used the same user/pass as other sites.  My account has 13 failed login attempts on it, because I use unique user/pass combination on every single site.

My guess is that other sites have been hacked and they just try all the user/pass combinations on MPH.  I've also been seeing failed login attempts to Suprnova as well.

NEVER use the same user/pass on two different sites ever.  Get a password manager like 1password, roboform, or if you have too lastpass.

Yep in Europe should be plenty of power, but still something to keep in mind.   As I mentioned I was speaking from a US perspective.

Indeed you did  Grin

Why with the 120V USA I do not get it  Huh

Well the US was the first to get a power transmission system originally, but it was also during a period when Thomas Edison was arguing that AC power was dangerous compared to DC power.  Even though AC power was ultimately selected as the winner the influence of Edison's DC +110V - 0 - -110V 3 wire system influenced the ultimate design.  110V DC was the maximum voltage that could be used and not burn out the carbon filament of the lights at the time.  Europe later started with 110V, but switched to 220V because it allowed the power company to increase capacity without changing out the wiring at the time.  From there is was just whichever standard was adopted and never changed because the equipment switch was always far too expensive.

As for the 20A breaker it's because you will get roughly 1800W of total power at 100% load out of a 15Amp breaker.

Assuming you're in the US with standard 120v home power.
Ohm's law = 15 amps x 120 volts = 1,800 watts

You don't want to run at full power otherwise you run the risk of popping the breaker when you have power spikes and such.  Circuits can also get hot and cause fires if they are run too close to maximum capacity 24/7.  It's just better to be safe than sorry IMO.  There have been plenty of stories of people having meltdowns/fires because they didn't pay attention to how much power they were trying to draw, especially on older wiring.  Also I presume you will have things like a monitor for setup and potentially fans running for cooling that will likely be on the same circuit.  All of those things take more power and even though you may plug them into different outlets most home power circuits will have all the outlets in a room on the same circuit.  Most home breakers are only 15A unless you are looking at a utility, laundry, or kitchen.

He is located in Austria so 230V is standard in Europe.

15A * 230 = 3450W

Will probably have at least 2 x 15A circuits for the normal plug sockets around the house.

Normally a further 18A or 20A for the kitchen/utility room.

You could run easy double the amount of GPU you are going for spread around the house.

Yep in Europe should be plenty of power, but still something to keep in mind.   As I mentioned I was speaking from a US perspective.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 - 11 GPU Rig, which PSUs to choose? on: June 27, 2017, 04:18:00 PM

Also this may not be a profitable rig, profits are rapidly dropping, and you may not breakeven before profits go to under a $1 a day.

Depends on what you are mining.   I have a 5x1080 rig that is still pulling in $40+ per day so it has a long way to go before it is below $1 per day.

Any idea what these VirtuaUnique coins that are getting mined in Nist5?  They don't seem to show how many blocks are required for maturity.

Don't see it listed under the Nist5 pool, but seen them show up a few times now.

Nvidia cards do not work with PCIe splitters as far as I've seen.  If you get a ASUS Prime z170-A or Pro you can probably get 7 cards working, but you'd need to likely have 2 - 850W+ PSU's in order to not fully max them.  A single 1500W might work as well, but you'd likely be pushing it.

Make sure you have a 20A breaker on the circuit you use or split between two circuits.
Thanks for that information.
Wyh do you think only 7 cards will work on Asus Z170-A? It has 7 PCIe ports + 2 M.2 slots. The M.2 to PCIe adapter is an "adapter" not a splitter, so at least 8 cards should be possible (i thought). Or am I wrong?
Why the 20A breaker? You mean the thing in the fuse box?

People have struggled getting that many Nvidia cards working simultaneously.  You might be able to get 8 working, but it will likely take a lot of fiddling and may not work.   Nvidia's draw more power and require more PCI-E resource channels than AMD cards so at least on Windows it tends to complain and although will see the card may not work properly.  Look around there are plenty of people who have tried to do what you are doing, but as I've said I haven't seen a lot of luck with more than 6-7 Nvidia cards at once on the same system.

As for the 20A breaker it's because you will get roughly 1800W of total power at 100% load out of a 15Amp breaker.

should be around the $30m area - those who bought higher - im sorry but your now a bag holder

Sounds like someone got cold feet and bailed.  Only a matter of time before this goes back up.

update

only necessary for staking purposes

we are still working on ensuring network stability and health,
and will be rolling more updates over time

please update to new version, which will help to ensure stakes split automatically

https://github.com/bumbacoin/Electra/releases/tag/1121

edit
due to a majority of windows users at the moment only windows releases are offered,
if there are many mac users please let me know so i can build as needed

when we have more final releases available OSX releases will be included

How often do coins become available for staking?  Seems like my wallet is only showing a small portion of my coins are actually staking.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Different hashrate in Nanopool and Claymore on: June 27, 2017, 02:28:57 PM
Hi,

I have a question:
Why I have different hashrate in Nanopool and Claymore? For example: I have about 29 Mh/s on each card on Claymore which is stable and different amount on Nanopool (sometimes 55 and some 90). Is it normal?

I have 3xGTX 1070 8GB OC (MSI Gaming X).

Your local hashrate is just a measure of how many hashes are being checked per second.  Not all hashes you find are treated equally by the pool.  You can get lucky and find difficult hashes quickly or you might get unlucky and take a long time to find a low difficulty hash.  It's largely is just luck, but over time it will average out to be similar to what the miner is reporting.

1.503 BTC 24 hour volume.  Only about 10 more days until we break through that 0.00000001 Buy wall.

For some reason it seems like my coins stopped staking in my wallet.

Also is it recommended to split our coins into multiple wallets to allow for better staking at this point?

196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ECA] Electra ⚡ | POW/POS | NIST5 | Super Rewards Bonanza on: June 25, 2017, 05:07:20 AM
Everyone,

Due to the help provided by the bumbacoin dev in creating the new wallets, he has been sent 20,000,000 ECA from the pre-mine account. I mentioned this would happen previously in the email sent to you all by the pool manager. The bumbacoin developer's help was highly significant as his contribution saved Electra from a very difficult situation. This payment also means that a very talented developer has become a stakeholder in Electra who has an interest in making this cryptocurrency better for all.

great,
I am splitting it up into bite size chunks for staking.

we're still a few days away from the end of PoW,
and with the distribution of funds it looks like the transition to PoS should be much smoother this time.

block times will probably be a bit jerky for a while until all the staking wallets split a dozen times or so.

So that's means we should split the wallet multiple times if we have a significant amount of coins?  If so any recommendation of maximum staking size?

I still think, when people having that much money on their site, they should have much better and faster Support. I was so fucking afraid.
About that should have been applied by poloniex, seeing this exchange has been established for a long time and has many users, poloniex already should have active support if they do not want to be considered a scam.

Do you guys realize that it likely takes at least several weeks to train even a small number of support staff in all the possible things that they need to handle?  Not to mention since you are hiring people who are likely going to be interacting with potentially millions of dollars they likely need to be vetted very well to make sure that they don't find a way to just send all your money to some random wallet address.  Unless you are okay with letting just a random person off the street have access to all of your money and do with it what they want?

Having worked in various support organizations for many very large corporations, including a Swiss bank, I can tell you that it likely takes at least a month to fully train someone and likely at least 3-6 months to actually trust them enough to handle money even with full oversight and approval processes.  I have no idea what kind of vetting and training an exchange like Poloniex is doing, but you can't just deduct some cash and buy more "support", let alone ones that are going to understand the nuance of cryptocoin transactions.
Your analysis is correct, but here we are dealing with a site that has long built, should them already have a solid team. If poloniex is a newly built exchange platform I can still understand it but I wonder why until now they still do not have trustworthy employees and teams so as their have active support in some of the social media available.

They likely have built up their team, but the growth of the platform has been massive.  Also there is no guarantee that everyone you train is going to keep working there especially through the hard tireless work and pressure they are likely under due to being short staffed.  We don't get to see the inside of their operation to know how big the team is or how/if it is actually growing to meet demand.  The best thing people can do is verify your accounts and that will likely make such withdrawals that much less unusual.  They have a lot of customers they are trying to protect, not just you.  We don't "pay" for their service unless we use their exchange and yet they have to get it right 100% of the time lest they lose everyone's money.  I'm actually more impressed with GDAX's promise to reverse the stop loss/margin call trades that crashed ETH the other day.  Poloniex never did that for their 2-3 flash crash issues.

Question

On my computer i do 61Mh's but on the pool show only 25mh's why ? ^^ on the pool : DGB [groestl]

Thanks

How long did you let it run?  You need to wait at least 5+ minutes of continuous to see the rate somewhat accurately on the pool.  Also the local miner is only showing how much hashes/sec it is calculating, not how many are being accepted.  Some hashes aren't going to be useful to the pool and therefore won't count for your shares.  Sometimes when you get lucky with some difficult hashes that get accepted you can actually have a hash rate higher than is reported locally so it largely depends on luck.

Withdrawals without a verified account used to be no problem, used to be automatic. Why would they need to manually approve all transactions? Isn't that why there's a $2000 cap on withdrawals for non-verified accounts? Also, with all the money they make, taking 24 hours is already too much time, let alone 2 or 3 weeks.

How is it the account holder's fault for THEIR unprofessionalism?

It's called money laundering rules.  When you go legit and follow the rules there are a lot more restrictions on what you can allow.
