181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ATTN Litecoin GPU Miners - Scrypt support for cgminer on: July 24, 2012, 08:01:20 PM
Does CGminer-Scrypt support 1400 x Tesla M2050, the card BX use to launch the attack against litecoin network ?
How many kH/s you can get with that NVIDIA card ?
Is it bigger than 90 kH/s ?

183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPS]notroll.in PPS Pool 4.8% | Pays For Stales on: July 24, 2012, 09:49:58 AM
Like I said before, with this attack I think people will pay even with 10% fee, just like how Deepbit protect itself from DDos attack before, just to protect the network as long as you will place it in much better server.
184  Other / Archival / Re: deleted on: July 24, 2012, 09:24:42 AM
Very interesting. One of these things will happen :

1. Attack is not successful but people will continue to sell many litecoins at cheap price now due to panic selling.
People that have BTC stock will buy loads of them because it's very cheap

2. Attack is successful.
A brand new alt coin will be created somewhere around October - December with promise to deal with this 10% attack.

3. People will switch to solo mining to protect the network
This will cause uncertainity, because you'll see Unknown suddenly has big hash power.
You don't know whether it's btc's buddy or people that protect litecoin network.

4. Trade will be stopped momentarily.
People will choose to wait and see, some will switch back to mine bitcoin, litecoin network will lose a lot of hash power.

5. People that invest and have bought many litecoin or people that still mine bitcoin with GPU and plan to switch in October will choose to protect the network.
Hash power will be bigger than before, and will strengthen the network even more.

Looks like pirate needs more money.  He has lifted the referral requirement so now anyone can invest again in this BCTST.  I am speculating this usually happens when business goes bad so more capital is require to remain "profitable."

I still can't see sign up button on BCTST (without referral), only Login button.

187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ozcoin Litecoin Pool proportional payouts port80 mining available on: July 24, 2012, 12:55:25 AM
Payouts are not working for some of the most recent signups
we have been alerted and will be looking into the issue over the next few hours
sorry for any inconvenience
Graet

It's not working for me, confirmed.
120 confirmations should take 120 * 2.5 = 5 hours and it's way past that time limit.

190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [WTS] (3x) Radeon 5850, (1x) Radeon 5770 on: July 23, 2012, 04:11:29 AM
Wrong section. Unless you sell it in Litecoin / other alternate cryptocurrency, it doesn't belong here.

It belongs on Marketplace | Goods | Computer Hardware
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

In other news, *cough cough* some guy sold 1x6990 for 25,000 LTC or $1275 now on this board (1 LTC = 0.006, 1 BTC = $8.5)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91263.40
Since the seller is nice, he ended up giving the buyer additional 1x6950.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91263.msg1015633#msg1015633

And if litecoin reach $1 two years later, he agree to give the buyer the fastest AMD card in the market.

In your opinion, is it too late to order a BFL Single--not an ASIC.

It depends on your belief.
Some people believe that ASIC won't be released in October and decide to wait / invest by buying bitcoin / FPGAs / GPU for now.

Some people believe that ASIC will be released in October and decide to pre-order it

Do some research yourself, don't believe everything people said.
Pick one side, and invest your money or play the waiting game.

How long would it take to break even on the purchase if I bought one today? What if I could find one from a third party (not the manufacturer--I hear they are slow)?
BFL Single, according to the calculator you'll break even after 175.8 days so you have 5-6 months.

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC under attack? on: July 23, 2012, 12:40:29 AM
Currently solo mining too.
Thanks. We need more people to do solo mining or join p2pool to guard the network

Yeah, not sure why people are pool mining with difficulty < 10.
Litecoin's hash speed is 1/1000 bitcoin's speed and still growing. Last time I check it's 180 MH/s, it's 220 MH/s now.
That's 40 GH/s growth in bitcoin world, or equal to another 57 AMD Radeon HD 5970 or 114 AMD Radeon HD 5850 that join in from last week.

5850 Litecoin : 350 kH/s
5850 Bitcoin : 350 MH/s

Litcoinpool is under a ongoing DDOS attack notroll.in seems now. Furthermore coinotron started behaving strangely today for me.

Could the attacker aim to damage the whole Litecoin network?
Anyway I am solo mining as a counter measure and you should too.
Both pools are confirmed down.
Notroll.in owner said it's not worth it to purchase DDos protection and he'll shut down notroll.in
When a couple of person have more than 50,000 - 100,000 bitcoins in his pocket for being early adopter, you know what they'll do to protect their investment.
If it's not worthy to be attacked, they'll just let the coins live a peaceful life since it's not a threat.

The positive side of this attack is that after all of this is over, all pools that survived will be somewhat DDos-proof and pool owners will learn how to deal with this attack.
It's a good thing the attacker attack Litecoin now, if they attack it when the price is growing to really valueable, it'll cause chaos to the market.

Please use CGMiner and set backup mining pools (at least 3-5) so you still continue mining even if one pool is down.

194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC/USD vs LTC/BTC on: July 22, 2012, 03:56:13 PM
Thank you! But for me, LTC/USD goes back to November, and LTC/BTC only goes back to earlier in July. Is there a way to fix that?

There's selection box beside the text Recent Trades, you can pick a selection between Last 50, Last 100, ... , last 5000, Max (10000).
Change that to your need.
195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Litecoin] Reaper miner; possible bug. All information provided. on: July 22, 2012, 03:11:52 PM
1. You may want to try other pools :
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Comparison-of-mining-pools

2. CGMiner for Litecoin is recently released, you should test it, maybe it works with your card since it's constantly updated.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92887.0

3. Try lowering your aggression to 16 and set gpu_thread_concurrency to lower value.

196  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E.com exchange Bitcoin, Solidcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin <-> USD\BTC (fee 0.2%) on: July 22, 2012, 01:48:37 PM
It's not a bug, we update every 15 seconds.
Ok

Anyway, it would be nice if there's additional dialog Yes / No to confirm the buy / sell window to give protection against misclick / accidental click.
Misclicked once and it's awful, I bought many litecoins at highest price.

There should be an option to turn it on / off so people that don't like it can turn it off.
197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LTC payment for my book? on: July 22, 2012, 09:09:48 AM
It's a good idea, there are more sites that accept bitcoin payment but almost no site accept litecoin.
So if you accept litecoin, you'll get a free promotion among litecoin community and help litecoin's growth.

Looks like the bug is still not fixed until now.
