Have you checked your system for any file irregularities?

I would say you may have been hacked/compromised.

184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I will answer your nooby noob questions about bitcoin! on: January 09, 2013, 02:34:31 AM
Hi
I am looking at bitcoin.  Learning slowly as I have been reading quite a bit about it.  My question is one of security and safety of the system and an individual's wallet.  My understanding is that if you lost your wallet or the data destroyed, you would lose your money forever.   Is a USB flashdrive susceptible to loss from an EMP attack?  Is the bitcoin service and servers sufficiently redundant around the world such that if there were an EMP attack in say the US and Europe, that the data and service would continue around the world?  I have read that optical storage on a CD drive would survive an EMP attack and thus preserve one's wallet.  Any comments?
thanks
r

for there to be an EMP attack... there would be war, as a result the internet would be shut down, also in you little mad max fantasy, imagine going to "Bartertown"  the guy says "how are you going to pay?", in the end you find out there are only two ways to pay in such an environment

1. Gold.
2. Services. (you have to sell your ass to a couple of convicts)

and NO a usbflash drive would NOT survive an EMP attack, the usb connectors would act as a high-band arial as would the bonding wires inside the Nand-flash chip package, the resulting charges would bit flip your nand-flash memory cells, since they are a function of charge level stored on a very high impedance gate.

What about devices and networks not effected by the EMP?

Eventually i think it will become a mainstream payment, but not until the greater public sees the value and considerable changes would need to be made to the cryptocurrency's base model.

What a serious face palm, getting rid of the newbie section would open this forum up to how many spambots.

Please, someone find a pit of logical sense and spread it around.

Straight up scam IMO, just waiting for a big amount to come through and the site will go down overnight.

I wouldn't trust any other bitcoin client other than the original genuine, uptodate bitcoin client.... The normal, client.

Good things take time, patience is virtue.

Just hang in there and make posts, why rush?

Im sorry but from a bitcoin client and business overview, i wouldn't want to pay bitcoins for travel... Most people who have bitcoins have a vehicle or have access to a vehicle.

The average person using bitcoin doesn't use a taxi.

This is such an odd, ignorant, insular post. It has an almost childlike naivety.

I'm not sure where you are from. but in the vast majority of the world, people don't call a taxi because they don't own a car. Also, people who live in huge cities tend not to have vehicles. Are you saying that no one who lives in Central London, Manhattan, or Tokyo uses Bitcoin?

I'm guessing that you haven't travelled much, or even learned much about the outside world. Perhaps you are a young child.

Having my opinion, is that against the rules in this thread is it?

The majority of people who have bitcoin don't want to spend it on transport, they want to spend it on other bitcoin like services...

Anyway its a waste of my time replying, someone who assumes im a child is really - not informed very well.

Most people who have bitcoins dont want to be spending it on a taxi anyway, just being realistic! Sorry!

Just watch torchat, as your dns requests still go through normal axx..... So can be logged/archived and used at a later date against you.

Wow, all of you seem like an intelligent bunch haha

Makes me feel pretty thick compared to the sites ive made, e.g saggyballs.com - it produced $800 in advertising revenue and had a picture of a hot chick next to a set of massive bull nuts.

198  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Quantum computers and Bitcoin on: January 07, 2013, 10:09:04 PM
Quantum technology is far different than digital technology, so i highly doubt anyone will take the time to bring down quantum technology to a digital level, it just wouldn't be worth the ROI.

Quantum technology is still another 50 years away from being inter-mingled with digital tech.

199  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Andrew Bitcoiner / BitJack21 on: January 07, 2013, 09:58:11 PM
Daniel, look how much time and energy you have already wasted on andrew bitcoin?

Just give up and find a stable, reliable and trust worthy income source via bitcoin rather than jumping into something you know nothing about.

Its not worth dragging a horse to water when its going to die anyway from a broken leg.

However someone did mention, a secure bitcoin " ATM " would be better.
