I thought it was interesting they used ternary (instead of binary) for the DNA encoding.

At the close 1/27/2013 price will be slightly higher.

Keep in mind the difficulty only changes every 2016 blocks.

The first guy who puts an ASIC miner on the bitcoin network will likely be able to generate a lot of coins before the difficulty reacts to ASICs.

Especially since the transaction fee is optional - if you pay it, your transaction may happen sooner but the network will still take transactions with no fee added. The network just ignores the transaction for a while until a miner has extra room in his block and is nice enough to include it.

I see bASIC was listed as a choice for an ASIC, so let me echo what everyone else is saying:

Most guys who preordered ASICs got scammed.

bASIC has folded. Not everyone has received their money back. Nobody even has an ASIC, not from any company yet.

If you think BTC is a good choice, look for a bitcoin exchange and convert your USD directly to BTC.

There's just a constant stream of people signing up and saying, "so how do I make money with this mining thing?!"

Since the chips internal structure is very repetitive, binning them into frequency ranges won't produce a large spread of chip speeds.
