That idiot has some skewed perception of reality, thinking that any sane person would actually buy a BFL product by choice.
Not when the word "BFL" has been turned into a term with a definition meaning:

1. To have something you ordered - delivered so far behind schedule, that it is no longer useful to you. Especially in cases where delays are 100+ days and the manufacturer or reseller is refusing to offer a refund for the goods.
2. Scammed
3. Completely fucked over

BFL is what's wrong with the Bitcoin ASIC industry and I truly hope they go bankrupt.

I'm glad I can ruin your Christmas then!  Your hopes and dreams are shattered!  Merry Christmas!

182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 24, 2013, 06:42:13 PM
BFL was 6 months late, not 1 year, unless the calendar has changed in the past 2000  years or so?  November - April = 6 months, not 12 months.

True, but the total wait for BFL customers was well over a year for many. I ordered my 30GH/s little single on 6/24/2012 and it was finally shipped to me on 7/9/2013. Needless to say, I have not even made 50% of my BTC back at this point. Now I mine little over 1 (bit)cent per day so I have accepted my losses. At this point my HF BJ is expected to do even worse. Needless to say, I'm done with pre-orders.

Quite understandable.  Fortunately, I don't think any vendor has yet forced anyone to pre-order their equipment, so you're good to go.

Also if you have anything else you'd like debunked please PM me as you are taking this hashfast thread off topic.

"Anything else" implies that you've already debunked something.  So far the only thing you've done is continue to spread misinformation and increase the entropy of Bitcointalk. But by all means, please continue the bitchfest in this thread of the same people posting the same shit over and over ad infinitum... you're doing a service to... something.  I think.

I stand corrected on that point....of course you we're more then  1 year late...and and basically told everyone  "2 more months" for that period of time...big whoop KNC gave me my unit oct 15th. and from the timeline you mention it was to be 250gh for the same price..and I got 555gh for the same price  (1st units we're 4wks late from my lot from your above calculations).....you told me in chat no later then AUG for my april jally ..I got it on Oct 31st Halloween......no option for refund after may 30th or so....yeah KNC is the villain here by being late ..right!

You didn't answer the question... does it hurt being wrong all the time?

BFL was 6 months late, not 1 year, unless the calendar has changed in the past 2000  years or so?  November - April = 6 months, not 12 months.  Did you add a few extra months in there to make yourself feel better?

Since Josh likes to pick and choose what he quotes, he should also quote the 250GH Jupiters that they said back then as well, only to be ~500GH in October and now closer to ~650GH.

Since you have a selective memory:  BFL promised hashrate 40 GH/s Single. BFL delivered hashrate: 60 GH/s single. And now closer to 70 GH/s.

Looks like someone thought he was clever.

Sure does.

We are working on creating an automated system to unban IPs.  The solution is not to have multiple failed login attempts from your IP address; it's a security measure.

Josh is probably taking a % of HF profits due to it's suggestions to john. So there is really no point in asking him it's opinion on HF. I will always remember how sure he was that KNC was gonna be late when we meet, it must have been because he knew that KNC was legit.

And I was right... KNC was late.  They promised summer delivery and didn't deliver until, what... October?

KNC promised summer delivery on there FPGA protot ype of like 80gh or some such..FPGA unit ...forget the name......the btc community said it was too small too high priced..so they changed it to their proof of concept prototype...and did not deliver that in the summer they delivered their orig ASIC as they stated on time org 250gh was the estimated gh....always stated that for the fall ie sept  (or 1 week late for some folk)....so no the ASIC 400gh stated at the end became current ad  (which they gave us the other 550 gh for free mine does 555gh) was on time +/- a week....so don't spread false info.....ASIC we are talking here.

Does it hurt to be so wrong all the time?

You are incorrect, sir. They said all of batch 1 will be in-hand by 15 Oct. They went approx 2 weeks over that mark. 2 weeks lost me about $1,000, but it could have been worse.

Do you just like not read the first post of KNCminer or are you just a troll and/or liar?

Here, let me quote the relevent part for you (bolded for your pleasure):

We will in the upcoming weeks opening our order book to allow the purchase of our first set of ASIC miners. They are in the early stages of development now and will be ready in the summer of 2013 (yes in just a few months)

KNC was months late.  Suck it.

Inaba -

Just out of curiosity.
Having already "been there/done that" with the dirty job of bringing as asic to market, what is your perspective of Hashfast and what they going through right now.

Also, your thoughts on their moving target TOS I would be interested in hearing from the point of view of a competitor.

Thanks -

Without knowing the specifics of what they are going through, I can't really speak on it... but I can imagine it's very similar to what we went through on our first ASIC and assuming that is the case, I sympathize a great deal with them from a technical standpoint.  I have no first hand knowledge of what the issues are at Hashfast currently, but from reading between the lines, it sounds like the chip isn't performing like they expected and hash a higher thermal signature (due to increased power) and they are having to scramble to make things right... just like we did.  It's a really crappy situation to be in and I have no doubt everyone is doing everything they can to get the units out the door.  Admittedly, I don't keep up on the whole Hashfast saga as closely as some, but it seems like they are victims of their own optimism, which was a hard lesson to learn for BFL.

Hashfast has the benefit of Bitcointalk being troll-city and ignored by most of the general public, unlike back when BFL started and Bitcointalk was somewhat reputable... so all the trolling, lying, FUD and general misinformation is largely irrelevant in todays world.  People like Cevidad et al don't really make much of a difference, just a bunch of noise that no one is listening to.  So I think they will come out of it alright in the end, assuming they deliver sometime in the next few weeks.

As far as the TOS goes, that's another story entirely...  The TOS is a clusterfuck to be sure and the MPP was just impossible... anyone with any common sense should have realized that from the start.  In fact, I mentioned it back in September:

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/pre-sales-questions/4914-bfl-selling-worthless-mining-gear-3.html#post58249

Say what you want about BFL, we have always clearly stated our terms and conditions and even made people double opt in to new terms and conditions or be refunded... Hashfash could certainly have handled the whole TOS situation much better... and they should never have created the impossible MPP.

The signal to noise ratio here is astounding Angry
There is no signal at all, and it's not our fault.

You and the trolls like you are the explicit example of who's fault it is.
191  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Least reliable ASIC company? on: December 24, 2013, 12:46:13 PM
On a side note: According to Josh's "ingenious & fool-proof" logic.. he is claiming there are 39,xxx out of 40,000 "satisfied" customers out there who purchased BFL hardware simply because none of the other 39k people voted on this poll.  So if your customers can care less about forums, why don't you hire some solicitors from India (like you did with the BFL 10-20% off coupon phone calls so many of us received) and let them ask your customers rate they're experience with BFL.

I will wager 2000BTC that more than 75% of your customers will give BFL a 1 out of 10 (1 being they rather be pissed on than go through the same experience they went through with BFL's delays and BS).  If I do happen to lose this wager, I'll just donate it to a charity of my choice.

I will take you up on that bet.  Find and escrow and send the 2000 BTC and I will do the same.

And the lack of evidence and proof continues. No bet. No evidence . No proof... Guess we know what your claims are worth foxy! Man up and admit you lied and we can move on.

I know I will never see my 1 BTC you promised me (you being a liar and all)... So I will tell you how I know you are lying from the get go... We don't have the chips yet... How can we have thermal expansion issues or know power problems without chips? Idiot. This is why everyone knows you are a liar.

*yawn*

1. So you're stating BFL_Jonathon did not state your chip issues in IRC?

2. Are you stating that anyone in the #Butterflylabs room on Freenode, in which Jonathon (who is op'd and enforced) stated the power issues, are colluding together to smear BFL?

3. Are you stating that there aren't any outstanding RMA's from November?

4. Are you stating that your customers on your own forum are lying in regards to issues with their existing devices and RMA requests?

I don't know enough about chip manufacturing to state if the issues are correct or untrue.
What I can state accurately is that BFL_Jonathon, a BFL customer representative (aka member of staff) who is op'd and enforced, came into the #butterflylabs room located on Freenode and stated issues with the chips.
Your own forum and my personal experience states that your RMA queue is at least backlogged to November.

This cannot be denied. I strongly suspect that it will be denied (or more accurately, simply avoided).

Whatever you say I'm done. You're boring me now...

So let me see if I can sum up your lies in one tidy little bundle here:

1.  You make a claim that is obviously false.
2. I call you on it.
3. You claim to have proof.
4. I offer to bet that you don't.
5. You agree.
6. You fail to honor the bet.
7. I go ahead and prove you wrong anyway.
8. You make a claim that is obviously false...

We are back at step 1.

You are a real piece of work, KF.  Lets look at your claims one by one.

1. BFL has no official presense in IRC.  I don't know if Jonathon is in IRC or not, but he is not there as a representative of BFL.  What he stated or what he did not state, I have no knowledge of.  You claimed you had proof of what he stated, yet you have failed completely and utterly to provide said proof.  This leads me to believe you are lying, otherwise you would have produced said proof long ago (and gained 1 BTC in the process).

2. I don't know what goes on in #Butterflylabs nor do I care.  It's not our channel and I don't give one slim fart about IRC.

3. I don't know, there may be a couple for various reasons, but most RMAs are handled within 24 - 48 hours of arrival in our office.  We have virtually no "backlog" of RMAs.

4. What you are even referring to?  Do you read the things you write?  Is it just random strings of characters you put together and hope they make sense?

So... you don't know enough about chip manufacturing to state if the issues are correct or true?  Really?  Here, let me quote you:

Quote
Apparently they're also now having thermal expansion detach bumps (like Nvidia in 2008).

So why are you making a statement when you have absolutely no idea what it even means?  Oh, that's right... you lied.

Let's see what else we've got:

Quote
They've pre-sold more then 60,000 monarchs which have missed their power targets by about 70% and the bullet run is expected to now be late march.

60k monarchs huh?  That would be pretty awesome... you do realize that 60,000 Monarchs would be over 288 MILLION DOLLARS right?  Anyone with even a tiny bit of common sense would realize what a ridiculous figure that is.  But, you don't let fact, truth and honesty get in the way of your claims, right?  Make whatever wild claims sound good, doesn't matter if it's true!

Missed our power targets by 70%... that's pretty specific, especially since we don't have a chip to test with.  How does that work again?  You even admit that we don't have a chip in the false claim that the bullet run is delayed until March (it's not)... so if you really believed it was delayed until march, how could you make the 70% claim?  Oh that's right... you were lying.  Again.

Quote
In the meantime, their RMA queue is huge (with the RMA email address refusing emails) with the amount of people who's devices have engines which have just died.

Is it?  How do you know this?  The RMA queue is not huge, nor is it large, excessive or even moderately flabby.  It's about where you'd expect for shipping 50k units.  In fact, it's smaller... to date we've had less than 1500 RMAs.  3% failure rate, and a fair portion of those are actually PSU issues, not hardware issues, but be that as it may, a 3% failure rate is perfectly acceptable in this industry and is actually considered fairly good.  So... another lie.  No large RMA queue here. How you would even know the size of the queue is a mystery, but again, there's no need for you to let honesty and truth get in the way of your claims.

Yes KelticFox, lie after lie after lie.  You really should get better at lying and pick things that aren't so easy to disprove with simple logic.  I know simple logic escapes you, just like basic arithmetic, but seriously here's a piece of advice.  Think before you post.  You just look like a bigger idiot every time you press that post button.  You started out with piss poor math and have graduated to outright lying... when there are a number of suitable things to gripe about BFL, it's mind boggling that you find the need to make things up.  Do you feel threatened?  Is that why you are lashing out in such a juvenile fashion?  Perhaps you should seek counseling for you problem.
196  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Product Failures / Underperformance. on: December 22, 2013, 07:34:51 AM
BCP - what Christian 'Xian' Antkow refuses to admit is that his "problems" with BFL started and ended with himself.  He tries to blame it on me or someone (anyone!) other than himself, but if anyone actually takes the time to go back in my post history, there's a pretty clear pattern to them.  I respond to posts in the same manner they are posted.  I have *very* few threads actually started on this forum... 99% of my posts are in the form of replies.

If I'm a jerk to you, it's because you're a jerk, end of story.  So if you don't like how I respond to you, take a look in the mirror and ask yourself why... the answer is staring you in the face.

Unsurprisingly, no bet has materialized.  I guess we know what KelticFox's lies are worth!  A big fat zip.

Actually, I have yet to receive a reply from JohnK. Unfortunately he hasn't been online since the 29th November.
The fact that you're deflecting the blame onto me to preserve your own reputation (which is laughable by the way), I find amusing.

I have come to the conclusion however that you are simply attempting to goad me into an argument as I'm not located in the US, thus a target you believe you can victimise without any possible retribution.

What makes you think I have any idea where you're located? Don't flatter yourself into thinking I give even the smallest shit about a snarky little twat like you.  Deflecting what blame?  You're the one that is lying, you refuse to prove it without a bet (which is fine) but you won't make the bet and you will only claim to bet 1 BTC.  If the truth you claim is there ,why not bet 10 BTC?  It's easy money for you, right?  No... the reality is you know you're a liar, I know your a liar so you won't make any sort of real bet, and if you are somehow forced into making this bet, at least you're only out 1 BTC instead of 10.

Goad you into what argument?  You make false claims, claim you have proof and fail to back them up.  I tell you I will bet you and to find a trusted escrow and you have yet to do so.  It seems to me that anyone would jump at the chance to score a quick $600 for no work at all, that is, unless you don't really have any proof to back up your lies... then I can understand why you would be waffling. Looks like I called that one from the start!

I have been out of the country for almost 3 weeks now... still in India at the moment.  Not much time to handle these sorts of things, but I'm working on it as time allows.  Hopefully I'll have a break here when I get back on Sunday and can catch up.
