Do I have to use minerd.exe in order to mine? If so, what command do I have to input?
This is my first attempt at mining a coin. I'll definitely give a nice Frozen tip for any help.
That depends on your minerd build. Some of them can mine Quark-based coins. Try if it works adding "--algo=quark" to your miner launch command. If it doesn't, go search a Quark miner.

+1000
You received 2000 here is the proof. Status: 59 confirmations, broadcast through 1 node Date: 12/8/2013 19:08 To: TaRaT bicoin promotion FPSuMjCYXXTvUxoe1bKupCidBUXLbf7S1U Debit: -2000.00 AOC Net amount: -2000.00 AOC Transaction ID: 9ad20ebeb8501a6302ff1f173e1bd86ffcc662ae0870817e0f82ce0a2bd60452 Priceless!!! Sorry alphaomegacoin, it seems you are pretty new to the Internet. Otherwise you wouldn't mistake +1000 (agreements with my opinion) with +1000 (alphaomegacoins received). You are doing it wrong this time, but I hope you gain experience to release a meaningful coin in the future. Have fun!

It's for solo miners to mine the coin on there own. We are releasing solo mining pool first for our members. You have guys like TBCM that complain because they are not there to support a coin and help it grow. They just like to talk about what they have no idea about because there to lazy to check facts before making statements.
Fact: your crapcoin doesn't open a RPC port to allow solo mining. It can only be pathetically mined by writing "setgenerate true [numberofcores]" on the console. Fact: the coin is premined. You've been mining this for over a week on your own. Fact: you are tarnishing the effort the cryptocurrency community does to promote legit cryptos by tricking people into buying a worthless cryptocoin which will never be like Bitcoin or Litecoin. Fact: the coin is closed source. Nobody knows whether the block size drops over time or what's the maximum number of coins. It could also contain malware. Get out of here!

Be careful with this one. The wallet doesn't let you mine solo, since it doesn't create a RCP port for listening, and still its creator is mining it. Looks like a total scam.

Lecture Trust: -8: -2 / +0(0) Warning: Trade with extreme caution! I'm in just for the fun of it

While Lecture fixes this lolcoin, let me tell you the RPC port is 18451. And guys, always remember to test new coins on fresh Windows XP / 7 virtual images.

Wallet says 6 days behind in blockchain... No peers.

When a coin is born, if the initial difficulty to get a block is too low, you can get a ton of coins (blocks) really fast if you get in early. The coin is instantly mined.
Similarly, when a coin is mined to almost completion in a very short period of time some people consider it's been instamined as well.

I am not sure I can look at a history of hash rates but I think QdXXBSJNcVYnjWm57KVL797typum4JZ5fe had a significantly higher hash rate in the recent past. This address/worker is still getting more work even though his or her hashrate has dropped, because of the lookback period. The pool has 6-8 MH/s in the not too distant past but I am not quite sure how to see the history of worker hash rates. This address isn't my own unfortunately.
History of hash rates: http://blackpools.pw:3333/static/graphs.html?MonthThat address has always received half of the block value or more with mediocre hash rates. It's really weird. Let's see if your changes make the rewards more fair.

Yes I have a dogecoin.conf Yes I have client open blockchain is up-to-date same port and pass
My dogecoin.conf: rpcuser=u rpcpassword=p addnode=162.243.113.110 addnode=146.185.181.114 rpcport=22555 server=1 daemon=1 My working NVIDIA miner script: cudaminer.exe -i 0 -C 2 -l 32x4 -m 1 -o http://127.0.0.1:22555 -O u:p With cgminer it should work with this script: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:22555 -u u -p p --thread-concurrency 4096 -I 10 -g 1 -w 256 On topic: http://youtu.be/UH_Zc2EXpN4?t=6m46s

What does that mean?
It can't find the information it needs to start mining. Did you create a dogecoin.conf file with the necessary information (port, user, password) at C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Dogecoin? Do you have the client open? Did you download the whole blockchain? Does the miner .bat file have the same port and user/password information as the dogecoin.conf file?

Someone start a giveaway, and tell me how to mine these little dogies
You can mine them just as you would mine Litecoins solo. Check this post: http://cryptocoininfo.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-mine-litecoins.htmlYou'll have to change the port number and user/password from the SoloMineWith(AMD/Nvidia)GPU.bat file and the data in the dogecoin.conf file once you figure out how it works (this data is at the bottom of the first post of this thread)

I did set up an Ubuntu instance with the same specs but not being linux knowledgable I'd no idea where to start from scratch. maybe a tutortial step by step .. been looking for one to easy-install....
I don't know what coin you are trying to mine so this is to get a pooler-cpuminer version with scrypt, sha256 and quark mining hashing capability. Get an image with Ubuntu, open a terminal and enter these commands: sudo apt-get install build-essential libcurl4-openssl-dev wget http://stonefoz.myfastmail.com/cpuminer-quark2.zipapt-get install unzip unzip cpuminer-quark2.zip cd cpuminer-quark2 ./configure CFLAGS="-msse4 -O3" make ./minerd -a ("quark"/"sha256"/"scrypt") -t (numberofthreads - eg "8") -o (miningpoolURL):(portnumber) --userpass=poolworker:password (For example: ./minerd -a scrypt -t 8 -o stratum+tcp://mine.pool-x.eu:9000 --userpass=LTCworker.1:x) That should work. Edit: this is for Ubuntu. I don't know about other distros.
