Bitcoin is dragging the whole altcoin market down because all these other coins base their value off of Bitcoin. I'm not sure why anyone in cryptocurrencies right now would not know that any other cryptocurrency bases their value off of the value of BTC which means BTC is king. It is sound money and it will always be that way because of the people and effort being put into the network.

I'm not sure why you're heavily invested in Bitcoin Gold if you have to ask all these questions. You should know where it's going. If you do not have an idea of where the price is going and you did not do your research then just invest in BTC, Bitcoin. You will never lose with that, you will always profit every year. BTG is just another forkcoin that is bound to fail as it's all speculative.

I wouldn't suggest investing in any ICO's as they have extremely short term potential and are very high risk vs reward. If you are new to this space, I'm talking 3 years or less, then you should just be buying BTC for the long term as it is not worth the time and stress looking into and investing in these altcoins where 99% of them won't gain any real value.

Top cryptocurrencies to buy if you are buying altcoins are privacy related ones. I do not suggest buying altcoins though as they are extremely high risk vs reward. Sure you can win big, but that will negate all the losing you did and will eventually equal out or you'll end up losing more, depending on how greedy you can be. With BTC you just buy and hold and relax and refresh the charts every week.

It may be possible to give one computer a virus, but not all of them. Bitcoin is a decentralized computer network so if you try and affect one or a group in a certain are there will still be there rest of the other ones running so this does not matter in the end. Bitcoin is immutable which means it can't be changed and so you should start looking into why this is the case.

I used Cryptopia today and was very pleased except for trying to buy by inputting the numbers. It is hard to figure out at first and I had to use a YouTube tutorial, but it was worth it because they've been around for a while and this is a good thing when you are using an exchange you need to trust it otherwise there is no point putting your BTC there ever.

The best thing you can do to start understanding Bitcoin is by watching Andreas Antonopoulos videos. They are free on YouTube and that is where I got a majority of my information early on when it came to BTC. He is great at explaining complex ideas simply. That is something I try and emulate too, because that is a huge talent to have in this day and age.

I store my bitcoins offline and watch them using a watch-only wallet. I use Sentinel to watch my cold storage addresses. It is great to receive payments, but it is not used for sending out coins by design. You can just do a lot more with your cold storage coins then if you were to just hold them in a hardware wallet like Trezor or a Ledger, or whatever new one is on the market.

Bitcoin is absolutely changing the world. The world has already been moving towards the digital age it was just a matter of time before a digital currency that was created to try and replace gold and fiat. Thing is, other digital currencies existed before Bitcoin, but they never took off because they couldn't solve the double-spending problem or it was centralized in some way.

You should buy Bitcoin now because a lot of people are talking about it. I have never said this since I started promoting it around 2013, but I am now starting to see a lot of different people finally talk about it when they didn't want to before. This should tell you something big. It tells me that BTC is not going away and there is a reason for that so might as well DYR and invest at the same time while it's still cheap.

This is a great thing for the Bitcoin network as the money that will be coming in can only affect the market so much. Over half of the bitcoins have already been distributed and the majority of people that have them are holding them for the future. This is why no matter how much money comes in they cannot tamper with the system. It will only make Bitcoin more desirable.

That is correct, gold is yesterdays standard, but Bitcoin is coming as a superior standard for sound money. This is what is necessary in a world's reserve currency, a universal ledger if you will. It is vastly superior than gold because we mine more and more gold each year and it's extremely hard to transport and divide. It is also easy to melt it out and add other metals.

The best thing you can do during all these forks is not buy into them with your BTC, but look out for wallets like Samourai Wallet that is on the verge of implementing a features that allows you to auto-dump your forkcoins for more BTC.

You can have long term store of value that can never be changed or tampered with in any way. Dollars are controlled by centralized powers and BTC is the opposite of that.

The Bitcoin community would be willing to crowdfund science as long as it benefited everyone. Never mind that, you will be able to start a project that can never be coerced to stop in any way because of the blockchain's immutability.

I don't think people or newcomers should be getting involved with this stuff at all, unless you are just planning to dump the forkcoin for profit. Even then you are at risk of giving up your privacy by moving your original bitcoins.

The best way to explain crypto to a newcomer is by explaining the role us money first then explain how Bitcoin is a network AND a currency, and Bitcoin was just the first app on this network that allows for trustless value transfer.

My favorite way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge is by talking about it as much as possible any chance I get. It's important not to go out of your way, so you only attract those that want to listen the majority of the time.

I would say that's not the best way to download the blockchain... The best way is to get a full node, and download the Bitcoin Core client and sync from that.
