nox implemented support for Cypherfunk Brilliant! I first heard the idea from Will Pangman at Bitcoin Milwaukee: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE7Gr8RYe…_detailpage#t=465 1. Make paper wallets (like at bitcoinpaperwallet.com/) 2. Sell (or give away) the paper wallets (for fiat money or BTC/LTC) as tickets for fundraisers, concerts, merchandise etc! I really like the idea of having a festival where people can buy the paper wallets as tickets to get into the festival (in fiat or BTC/LTC), and once inside the festival they can buy merchandise with the paper wallets (food, CD's, t-shirts etc..) I can already imagine a menu with prices in FUNK. Belgian Waffle: 20,000,000 FUNK I made that number up, but you can see what I mean. Totally. Been talking to a friend on doing something locally akin to this.

I'm happy to say I now was able to exchange some FUNK for BTC which is good news. This means I can now use FUNK as a real currency. I'm thinking of making paper wallet tickets (cold storage FUNK coins) and selling them (or gifting them) for fiat money, and people can then spend the FUNK coin on music merch like digital downloads, donations, tickets etc. So if you are a musician or band you can earn FUNK coins, and if you are a fan you can support us with FUNK too!
Sweet. Check out nox's paper wallet generator. It works perfectly (maybe just needs an update on the graphics). A friend printed some FUNK and gave it away at a local South African music festival. https://github.com/n00bsys0p/bitcoinpaperwallet/tree/cypherfunk

Hi Guys
I might be missing the plot. Songcoin is aiming to make a currency for the artists to free them from the shackles of the music labels and corporations. How can we achieve the same or better? I'm worried we lacking in that department? Supply and demand. There is a demand for a tailored currency for musicians. But I'm worried we are getting carried away with the open source band thing and forgetting about what song-coin is trying to achieve. We must cover all those bases. Good info? Or Have I lost the plot? Come the future I want to be buying songs and cds from famous artists with cypherfunks. These guys want to get paid for their hit-songs. Lets pay them in a lucrative currency. Im worried song-coin will beat us at this because focusing to much on the soundcloud band for all thing. J
Hey man. Good points. I think there is value in a coin that's specifically focused towards musicians (and not just an open-source band). However, it is difficult to sustain such ideas (and that's only my personal opinion), because it is seen as a way to kick-start a currency, not equity in an idea. Making a coin for 'musicians', ie songcoin, tunecoin or whatever, feels more like an attempt to piggy-back on musicians and the whole "altcoin" movement: a get-rich-quick scheme. I wanted something that was more defined, and less vague. And that is what happened. But, at the end of the day (and I keep stressing this). This is only my viewpoint. This is decentralized. All of it. Musicians are a part of this and CAN be used as a coin for musicians. . I want it to. Pegasus007, what suggestions do you have?

If the real supporters would come out now to support the cause it would be a really BIG help! I'm going to reach out to some people in other circles to see if they can help.
Cheers! Going to find some time to finish a new song today. Amped. I have a suggestion, contact Derek Sivers and tell him about Cypherfunks. http://sivers.org/He's a musician, and a successful music/technology entrepreneur, and I think he is a 'good' person too. He started CD Baby and wrote a very entertaining book, "Anything you want", about his experiences and what he learnt. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00506NRBS?tag=sivers-20If you contact Derek you might be able to get him involved in Cypherfunks, or at least get some advice from him about how to progress this project. Good luck!! Why not! Will shoot him an email. Seems like he would be interested. Cheers! EDIT: Sent.

The DigiShield algorithm is just asking to be exploited. The DGW2 algorithm is vulnerable to a timewarp as well. Almost every single one block difficulty adjustment algorithm contains a flaw with regard to timestamps, and if miners are not mining to secure the network, the coin will be forked.
Absolutely, it seems as if finally somebody understands this. ~BCX~ It seems so. Cheers for the discussion.

Thanks groggin for the work on the promotion. The main problem I'm finding now with the FUNK coin is lack of liquidity (supply issues and due to lack of adoption) and fungibility. If there is no transaction volume, there is no currency. I have put a test sell order on AllCrypt but nobody will buy them! The idea of a decentralized band based on cryptocurrency is really good and strong, but the actual FUNK coin appears to be going the way of the Susan B. Anthony dollars to the retired currency bank in the sky.
Seeing how Simon has put about at least 100 hours into working on this thing, unless people start adopting and using the FUNK coin, it will cease to exist as a currency and Simon will be an unhappy camper. We can always switch to a stable cryptocurrency with good liquidity and fungibility like BTC/LTC if we need to.
Thanks for the concern. Fwiw. I still firmly believe we are paving the way for how creatives can organise in a different way in the 21st century. I have spent hours and lots of money, but I don't mind if it fails (is there even such a case?). I've already met really cool people (you guys), made music I'm really proud of, and broadened my knowledge quite extensively on cryptocurrencies. I'm winning all the way. Just a bit poor now. The end-goal is still out of reach though: we want this be something that will eventually sustain a host of musicians. So far, we are doing okay. Making music doesn't pop up instantly and we are almost 2 months old. This is ages in terms of crypto-time, but 2 months for a band, and anything creative is still a short timespan. It shouldn't be about me. It's about us, and making epic music together. Trust me, if I had enough money lying around, I would be whaling the price up so I can inject some capital into the community. Anyway. Still excited. Still making music. Still developing on the side (going to get round to finishing the android wallet).

CypherFunks has been added to AllCrypt.com!
what's wrong with their security cert.? It's working fine from my side? Another thing. People have been sharing non-Cypherfunks songs to the group, so I unfortunately have to make it moderated at this stage. I made myself & soundposition moderators for now. All Cypherfunks songs are still shared to the main profile though. https://soundcloud.com/groups/the-cypherfunks

Great to have a working exchange, will buy some as soon as there's some depth. What about the funks on that other failed exchange? I saw there were a ton there, are those lost? That's what I'm worrying about as well. There were easily 300 - 600 million FUNK on order books when they went down... Either it's lost/destroyed. Or whomever had CryptoRush is holding a bag.
