181  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: July 26, 2017, 11:16:02 AM
Yesterday I saw an article from coindesk saying that GM ran out of ethereum cause they haven't mined a block in 6 weeks.... ahhhhh..... if it's true, that's trouble, if it's an attempt at an excuse, that's trouble.

Link?

False alarm?  What changed in v1.0.3?

yes, stratum was rebooting too often due to a massive increase in lowdiff shares being submitted (part of the huge growth from this coin recently), it should be fixed now.

thanks for your feedback & support, hope to see you back soon

Was your solution to set the stratum difficulty to 5?  Signatum is unmineable now.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic json. on: July 24, 2017, 09:35:47 AM
It should be added another ethash coin - SOIL - now in Cryptopia market... It could be profitable for mining, too.

Tons of coins are missing that are profitable.  The operator needs to get on the ball and keep the site updated.
185  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: July 18, 2017, 11:49:46 PM
With the D3+ coming out in Sept that mines 15,000 MH/s, current "top of the line" 500 MH/s X11 contracts will soon be effectively worthless.

What is D3+? I googled it and haven't found anything.

More of Bitmain's infamous crap.  It sold out within an hour.

Why would a hardware mining company give up making $225 a day per machine on their own cooking?  What do they know that we don't?
186  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: July 18, 2017, 11:44:04 PM
I recently bought mining contract in genesis too Dash(x11) it's back again, i bought only 10mh 2 year contract. I think i'm gonna get my first payout in 20 days, at the current rate. I think genesis mining is gathering more people thru referrals, most youtuber's are increasing their hashing rate by sharing their referrals CODEs, so we do not need to focus only on the amount invested, we need to invite others too to increase our profit.

When did it come back?  GM is terrible at sending out notices.
187  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam alert : Do NOT INVEST in Genesis Mining on: July 18, 2017, 11:41:54 PM
Gensis mining is only ment for the aggressive investor's like myself any many others who still haven't stopped upgrading once whatever goal we set at first is met. You don't quite your job the first month, second, third, etc.... Wherever people are getting this ROI overnight idea is ridiculous. This is a long term investment in bitcoin. This is a dedication to the blockchain itself and a dedication to maintaining it. But if money is all you're concrned about. Then the secret sauce is clear. You remain profitable only if you properly upgrade your hash power to meet the increasing difficulty of mining. Period... Whether you do it at genesis with the worlds largest known documented super computer or at home upgrading every 3-4 months as necessary by increasing difficulty.

That's pretty hard to do when you can't reinvest it back into the same contract that is no longer available or they're stuck with outdated mining hardware that translates into overpriced contracts (e.g. ETH, XMR, Zcash).

With the D3 coming out in Sept that mines 15,000 MH/s, current "top of the line" 500 MH/s X11 contracts will soon be effectively worthless.  And with the third or fourth batch of L3+'s being released, GM has either been mining with them themselves or they haven't bought any to adjust their non-competitive LTC pricing.

The Hilton philosophy is alive and well.  Calling GM a scam is overreaching, but they are clearly not in business to specifically make miners a profit.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.1 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: July 08, 2017, 11:44:00 PM
The calculation numbers have been screwed up ever since v1.7.0.13

Betas aren't expected to be bug-free.  It's been messed up since 0.10.  Only 0.9 is stable but it doesn't have the changes work with YIIMP.

TheBlocksFactory is also broken.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM multipool multialgo profit switch with exchange on: July 02, 2017, 11:48:15 PM
For yiimp.ccminer.org is there an api call that shows individual coin profit, similar to http://yiimp.ccminer.org/api/status, but broken down by coin?  I'm trying to setup a multi algo mining script, but there are a couple algo's that have multiple coins (blake2s) that have varying profits.  I want to make sure I'm picking the coin with the higher profit.

Thanks.

bump

There's no way to choose among KMD, HUSH and ZEN because they're all reporting the exact same profit.  So whatever is first in the list of the three always gets mined.  Annoying.

Just curious scoping out the crypto market a lot  of these ICO's seem like scams  just wish we could hear  more from the devs  of  DCORP.

To paraphrase Mark Twain, the definition of an ICO is "a pie in the sky with a liar floating next to it."

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.1 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: June 17, 2017, 04:59:29 PM
I have started in this altcoin mining stuff a couple of weeks ago.  I have been using NiceHashMiner and AwesomeMiner, but I felt they need some flexibility.  I am programmer and was thinking about starting such a project when I found this . I have some questions, which I could not find in the dozens of pages of this thread I have tried to search:
- Does MinerControl support dual miner, such as Claymore ETH+DCR/Pascal/Lbry?  If so, does it calculates if it is worth to run in dual mode?
- Is it possible to use cpu miners concurrently to gpu miners?  I am using xmr-stak-cpu.
- Should I fill the hashrate tables manually, or the program updates it as it runs algos?  I have 2x GTX 1070.  Should I input combined hashrates in those fields?
- Why there are partial conf files in the config directory?

AFAIK:

1. Yes and no.  You could try using a special algo reference just for the dual hashrate,
2. Yes, you can run multiple copies each with its own configuration file.
3. The hashrate is fixed and manual; no dynamic updating or dynamic referencing.
4. They are just sample file templates.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.1 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: June 16, 2017, 08:00:06 PM
is it possible MC to start with high priority and launch miners with high priority as well, probably it is a good idea MC to run on core 0 and miner on core 1/example with 2 core cpu/ it can be more flexible with using affinity mask with more cores.

Use Process Lasso and set it permanently.  Also use CleanMem to deal with the memory leak or unreleased memory hog that MC is (it's not perfect but it helps).
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.1 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: June 16, 2017, 07:54:21 AM
Unfortunately, using the separate wallet doesn't propagate the public key to _ACCOUNT_ when multi.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Miner Control 1.6.1 - Auto profit switching miner controller on: June 16, 2017, 04:55:16 AM
Looks good!  I like the separate wallet feature.  Some issues I've noticed with 1.7.0.5+:

Restart and switch no longer work after a certain period of time; stop also requires at least two stops to properly activate.  They may be related to tpruvot's 2.0 final ccminer.

The column sort for Net_$ doesn't work on double digits; to verify, sort by that column then sort again by Average.

Need a high price fix for the cyclical bug in pool software not taking into account difficulty decreases/increases on inactive/low hash rate coins.  It's most evident on Hashrefinery's X13 right now.

I'm also seeing identical values across the board for multi-coin, same algo mining at the same pool which doesn't seem right, e.g. Hush and Komodo at YIIMP and CXT, WYV and ECA at CoinMiners.

They took in almost 1200 BTC since they also flouted ICON with a 200 BTC limit.

198  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Automatic Bitcoin Trading - arbitrage bot investment website on: May 19, 2017, 07:43:32 AM
No, the payout is in BTC. The minimum withdrawal of profits is 0.01 BTC. There is no exchange of USD involved.

You're not paying attention.  You are not getting the exact same amount of BTC back as you deposited, only the frozen USD value of the initial deposit paid out in BTC.  So if BTC goes up in USD terms after your deposit, you lose that gain (and vice versa).  Since you don't need USD to arbitrage cryptocoins...  wtf is the point of ABT taking on the currency risk?
199  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Automatic Bitcoin Trading - arbitrage bot investment website on: May 18, 2017, 07:53:21 AM
So what are they doing to hedge the USD risk because they're paying the initial BTC deposits back out in USD terms not BTC...  why would they even need to take on that risk if they're arbitraging crypto?

Smells real fishy.

MinexCoin (MNC) is different from other altcoins because it’s a stable low-volatility cryptocurrency with fixed annual growth.

Do you really think you came up with this idea first? I've seen dozen altcoins trying to control volatility as its main feature...

What are all the others ones that tried and failed?
