What the hell? Did I miss something?  Shocked

just more millionaires who want out of bitcoin. Only way to do so is buy on gox, lolol. stupid whales.

we are crashing to single digits once fiat dries up.

sidenote: lol @ pathetic depth on bitstamp. This is the competition to Gox? lolol. It's sole purpose is clearly to cash out. not good sign of a healthy competitor.

^What rock have you been hiding under?

Avalon transferred the returns for all the batch 3 customers yesterday...this is yesterdays news.

Doesn't matter. Lots of btc going to be cashed out

^Avalon's wallet. Emptied yesterday. They could crash the market pretty hard...

*edit*

Those might be refunds, in process. Regardless, those refunded will likely cash out their btc.
1804  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 30, 2013, 03:28:46 PM
Guys. These mega buys are whales trying to get out of bitcoin. This is not good. It is just fiat leaving the system. Once it is over, we crash to sub $10.
1805  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 30, 2013, 01:53:58 PM
Friday and 24hr volume is under 6,000. This cannot be good. What is going to happen when all the fiat finally leaves Gox? Pretty clear no one is interested in keeping the same amounts of fiat on the second largest exchange, bitstamp. Just look at the laughable depth, compared to Gox.

The only thing driving the price up in last month are paranoid whales who can't get money out fast enough via traditional wire, so they buy btc. LOL that not healthy uptrend at all.

I think we in for a mega-ultra crash to single digits once fiat dries up.
1806  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 30, 2013, 12:30:01 AM
Did gox turn off its trading engine? Wtf is going on
1807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 29, 2013, 10:59:56 PM
I see around 8k 24hr volume on gox...

and Thursday is an action day....

Expect sub-5k volume each weekend day...

Srsly, how is the value of 11 mil coins decided by this ridiculous level of volume? Not good. Undecided

Bitcoin is dead...
1808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 29, 2013, 03:54:20 PM
Thursday morn and 24hr volume is laughable. If this does not rocket by the afternoon, I will pronounce bitcoin dead.

people are patiently waiting for someone to sell some coins, I'd ignore volume untill someone is brave enough to test support at 125

Thursday is typically one if not highest volume day of the week. If support not tested today, don't count on it for a long time.

notme,

I apologize for assuming your math is noobz-level. However, my calculations also involve advanced principles of physics, including quantum mechanics, etc..

Explaining would require long 100+ page essay. I don't feel like doing such.

Thanks

This is correct if you calculate the "true" price of bitcoin. I calculate we are at true $210 right now. Gox shows price minus $50 evil whale suppression and minus $30 fed gov oppression. So in real reality, my predictions are rarely wrong

$300 True Price by Friday. Guaranteed.

So what will increase by $90?  The price, the whale suppression, or the gov oppression?  Probably a combination of all 3, but in what proportions?

It is a very complicated equation, beyond your noob analysis. Just trust me on this one

bitcoinity's depth chart looks bugged. Anyone else seeing that long flat line? Doesn't correspond with clark moody or any other site.

syria is responsible for the current rally apparently

src?

Might make some sense: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/syria-intervention-fears-hit-global-markets-2013-08-27

Stocks drop, maybe due to some Syria news, maybe not, maybe people are using some Syria news to rationalize their irrational behavior. Anyway, there's a selloff on the stock market, where does the money go? Might as well go our way.

The money goes to fiat and stays there until the future is less uncertain.

I hope for a diversity of scales to be used via metric prefixes.

I can almost guarantee you people will not use "mBTC" in day-to-day usage. Some slang term will emerge. I vote for "bits". It's not consistent with anything, but rolls off the tongue easily. "That's twenty bits for that beer & burger, please".

Shave and a haircut? 2 bits.

Will be interesting to order bitburgers...

artificially grown bitburgers are the future. i am ready.

Quote from: Jennifer Shasky-Calvery, director of the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network
Fincen's recent guidance concerning virtual currencies made clear that virtual currency administrators and exchangers that provide services within the U.S. must register with Fincen as money-services businesses and that they share similar regulatory responsibilities with other financial institutions
She still doesn't understand, that there are no administrators. Just like with internet laws. It will take many years for government to understand the difference between banks and bitcoin.

All miners, register as money transmitters! Wink

Yes there are. You are reading the definition wrong. "administrator" and "Exchanger" definitions only apply to those "engaged in businesses." Read the guidance opinion again. Focus on the initial definitions near top. Those below are clarifications and meant to be interpreted in light of the broader outlined def'n.

^i paid lawyer, he told me that
1817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 27, 2013, 05:23:03 PM

... they had nothing to fear from the government as long as they followed U.S. financial rules.

^could be problematic for most, if not all, companies currently involved in bitcoin. First, it is super expensive. Second, who knows what those recent 20+ subpoenas will reveal. Would anyone be surprised if the regulatory bodies determine that no current bitcoin-related companies have adequate KYC and anti money laundering procedures in place?
1818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 27, 2013, 02:54:21 PM
That's why TA is more or less useless. Market volume and liquidity is not nearly large enough to make it meaningful.
Bingo.

I disagree.  If you had (and if you still do) look at just the money flow index, you'll see that the last time we were this close to being overbought in the last 6 months, was the rise to 260.  This rise was and is easily predicted through TA.  In fact, this rise could actually surpass the BTC all time high but we'll see.  My guess, is we're in for some massive gains over the coming days.  200 is going to get run through like nothing.

Congrats Bulls!

hey moron,

last time was preceded by massive inflows of money to gox. not happening now.

we go to $180, and no more. We level there until gox fixes its shit
1819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 27, 2013, 03:28:43 AM
trades like these do not happen out of the blue unless based on inside information. I bet we hear some big news tomorrow. Either positive or negative news may result in huge sales. The former is self-evident, as traders generally assume uptrend on positive news. The latter is more unique to gox because traders want fiat out and only way to do that is buy btc (lol).

can't wait for tomorrow
1820  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: August 27, 2013, 03:13:49 AM
it does appear that we are going to the moon!

$180 by Friday, guaranteed
