Any updates?
Yeah! The phase 1 and phase 2 technical improvements have been assessed by the lead developer of Altcoin.Center so we now have a rather clear picture of the amount of work and time it will take to implement them. Stage one enhancements, that have to do with the actual coin algorithms (Kimoto Gravity Well, PoW => PoW/PoS hybrid etc), are going to take less than a week to implement, including extensive enough testing. Stage two additions (such as coin mixing, anonymous chat with self-destructing / time limited messages etc.) are quite a lot more challenging and will probably require several weeks. Please note, that it will take at least couple of weeks until our dev team can start the coding. Our hands are totally full with work related to the recent launch of Altcoin.Center, and while DOPE is my personal priority #1, I too will have to get the basic services of A.C running steadily before I can fully immerse myself into DOPE stuff. Even though there is a short delay until we can concentrate solely on DOPE 2.0, everything that happens meanwhile is also going to boost DOPE in many ways. We have a really wonderful, stable and secure hosting ground for a number of services DOPE will benefit from, such as the [global] possibility to buy DOPE with SMS. Was wondering if anyone would want a better way to get cash out their Bitcoins. In other words, be able to take a debit card and withdraw from the atm the cash you need from the Bitcoins you cashed out.
All this will be done online so a virtual card issued to you upon payment.

Haha ya nobody really showed up so will have to try this again ;-) I think its best to announce a irc chat some days before it happens, so people no it in advance and can set some time aside for it. Also, getting the operator of the official Dopecoin Pool to payout everybody's coins that we mined there would be nice, too. Not sure why this hasn't been brought up on this tread before. This is down right theft not paying out coins for months.

So much coins, i didn't check it for some time of course. Better try to reduce the extra coins a lot. There are still plenty of cheap coins available on the market, so if we can stay below 100M DOPE coins then it would be great.
I have a hunch that lots of these coins were mined in the anticipation, that DOPE would become widely used as the currency for purchasing pot. One risk free way to reduce the amount of DOPE in circulation would be to co-operate with legal vendors of cannabis in the US and elsewhere. I'll give this some further thought asap - now I'll have to concentrate in making Altcoin.Center ready for tomorrow's launch. Just got the DOPE pool working. I just sent you a message on BitMessage  Yes, the a lot of coins where mined with anticipation the coin would be the ideal "darkmarket" type coin , or even pot. Co-op of legal vendors is a great suggestion and one thing I was looking into before things de-railed a little bit. Cool to hear about the DOPE pool |

edit: I think also with anon. marketplaces like openbazaar opening up this is a great opportunity for a coin like Dope to get back up and running. I can see a marketplace around all the other coins for items established there.
Great Stuff. I would say, finally. If i can do something to help, please let me know. I don't mind to promote DOPE a little, but we need a good plan, look at what i was able to achieve on Ethan.... This is speculation, but if the reddit admins have "shadow" accounts then they can check for opportunities of getting paid to post. They can also search the internet, various forums, ect for offers to get paid for posting on reddit.

But I like that it's open-source. I wonder how we can get more Bitcoin users involved in that one. Is there a r/bitcoin there ? that is how. |
