1801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will change legal name to Bitcoin on: November 10, 2014, 12:22:22 AM
200BTC I would do it for less.

It should be a dutch auction. People should start quoting lower bids.
1802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is up and people are like... on: November 10, 2014, 12:21:12 AM
Its nothing right now.... I am just waiting for the bitcoin to rise to $10000 so that i can buy 51% shares of google

If fiat loses its value, all assets (including shares) will go up in price (fiat denominated).  Grin
1803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We already passed the tipping point of BTC on: November 09, 2014, 04:08:02 AM
Tipping point?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-10-28/things-make-you-go-hmmm-swiss-gold-status-quo-showdown

How about if the Swiss return their currency to a gold backing?
Avoiding the depression of being dragged down by the EU?
What do you think that will do to gold and Bitcoin?

It could be big, and it could be good for Bitcoin.

And this is soon...

That would be great for gold.
Bitcoin? Not so sure.
1804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who uses bitcoin? on: November 09, 2014, 04:05:02 AM
When the internet started off, a lot of people thought it was associated with nothing but pornography.  Grin
1805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: November 09, 2014, 04:03:44 AM
Just bought 3 more BTC for 1k, like a fuckin BOSS

Oi! Showing off is prohibited. stop it!
Smiley

If you have it, flaunt it.
There were people who felt pretty smug because bitcoin's price "fell" to $500.
They don't look so cool now.
1806  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: November 08, 2014, 04:50:13 AM
ummm...girls gone bitcoin no?

That is where all the girls are  Cheesy

I bet they get paid in fiat, while their 'facilitators' rake in bitcoins.
1807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The transaction fee is just ridiculous. on: November 08, 2014, 04:48:10 AM
I believe that now it is time to scrap the tx fee. The miners are hardly getting any benefits out of the transaction fee and the opponents of Bitcoin are using it as a weapon to attack the Bitcoin community.

I am sure the spammers would love that.

They would.  And it won't happen anyway!  ;-)

And, has been stated, you can always use no fees depending on the age of coins etc.  Opponents of bitcoin only use it to attack bitcoin in front of people who don't know any better, so education regarding free transactions is key.

Sidechains are also going to be very important.

Yes, to a layman who has always heard of transaction fees in USD/percentage terms, Bitcoin's transaction fee structure can be quite abstruse.
Education  is the key.
1808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's real name revealed on: November 08, 2014, 04:43:50 AM
Reminds me of the film "Mask of Zorro" where tens of people step forward claiming to be Zorro.  Grin
1809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Blockchain technology will pervade, but not bitcoin." on: November 08, 2014, 04:42:01 AM
The blockchain technology does not belong exclusively to bitcoin which means anybody can use it

Anybody can start a new blockchain, but will it be supported by the processing power that backs bitcoin?
Why would anybody switch to a brand new blockchain. Bitcoin's blockchain is where all the action is.  Smiley
1810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tech Giant Google Installs Bitcoin ATM in London Campus on: November 06, 2014, 01:58:02 AM
I guess google is already working on gleaning information from the blockchain and getting targeted ads in place.  Smiley
1811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Should One Start With Bitcoin Right Now on: November 06, 2014, 01:55:12 AM
Why should someone (not knowledgeable about bitcoin) should start spending hours and hours to learn about bitcoin's concept. Why should that someone start right now?

He will have to do it anyway. Bitcoin is going to be everywhere in a few years.
So might as well spend that time now.  Tongue
1812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That moment.... on: November 06, 2014, 01:53:41 AM
When you find half a BTC you put on a paper encrypted wallet... but have no idea what the passphrase is...

CRAP.. lol.

If you don't manage to figure out the passphrase, and bitcoin price shoots to the moon. That moment......
1813  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: November 05, 2014, 12:28:15 AM

Someone jsut cracked me up saying bitcoin will stabilize at "0" in a couple of years.  Grin Grin

Show him/her the following Stat and ask for his/her opinion...

A statistical explanation why 1BTC may equal 1M USD in future...

Value of 1BTC (around figure)

2009 => 10-2 USD
2010 => 10-1 USD
2011 => 100 USD
2012 => 101 USD
2013 => 102 USD
2014 => 103 USD
2015 => 104 USD
2016 => 105 USD
2017 => 106 USD

--- Early Adoption Ends Here and The Price Stabilizes ---

104 in 2015 seems way too optimistic now. Cheesy

In 2012 103 appeared to be too optimistic for 2013 as well Wink

You do know where the price at the end of 2014 appears to be heading.  Tongue
1814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: November 05, 2014, 12:26:09 AM
It is way too early in the lifespan of bitcoin to predict anything.
It might become as ubiquitous as the internet, or it may die out slowly. Only time will tell.
1815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PAYROLL IS NOW HERE on: November 05, 2014, 12:24:36 AM
This is great news.
They should work on implementing it across the world.
Getting your hands on bitcoins is real difficult in some countries.
1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People think price it not important but it does matter a lot on: November 04, 2014, 04:07:12 PM
To me the price isn't that important as 80% of my Bitcoin holdings are profit from trading.

I buy low and sell high, then cashout my initial investment to secure that. The profits in BTC will be sent to my cold storage wallets.

But the reality is that probably 90% of the people are in Bitcoin to make money.

The problem with that is if you are caught on the wrong foot during sharp price movements, all your profits could get wiped out.
People thought they were buying low when they bought at $400.

1818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of Bitcoin companies on: November 04, 2014, 03:59:57 PM
is there a list of Bitcoin companies I can purchase Bitcoin from ?

If not do any of you want to name drop a legit source so we can compile a list for future users

Thanks in advance  Undecided

For convenience, you can always use https://localbitcoins.com/
I don't think an exhaustive list of companies exists.
1819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Dropping ? How can I Protect The Value Of My Bitcoin. on: November 03, 2014, 04:31:55 PM
Just hold them for the long term.
The value protection mechanism of bitcoin is wired into the protocol.  Smiley
1820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You should start using Bitcoin because... on: November 03, 2014, 04:30:31 PM
