Please Jehovah, don't let there be two different Andrew Lee's causing me to make possibly two mistakes in one day, and the day just started for me.

Nah, I'm looking at his father's (who owns that very nice house) business website and it's done by "London Trust" all right.

Laffo, a scammer tag. How 2012 of you.
1806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Loooooooongcat on: June 17, 2013, 09:32:29 AM
I'm 12 and what is this?
1807  Other / Meta / Re: Where's the new forum Theymos? on: June 17, 2013, 09:24:50 AM
I'm pretty sure it was Theymos over reacting to having the forum hacked in 2011.

Pretty much this. It was a thought exercise on what would be the absolute perfect forum anyone could wish for. It didn't help that the amount on offer for development at the time was something like 3000 bucks, which is really just "Maybe I'll have a quick look at your specs and tell you what's outright impossible" kind of money.
1808  Other / Meta / Re: Where's the new forum Theymos? on: June 17, 2013, 09:13:42 AM
Was the new forum supposed to be an improved bitcointalk or a completely separate forum to the current one?  Is there an old thread discussing this?

There was a sticky once, but it seems to have disappeard.

To paraphrase the idea was to bootstrap a new forums software from scratch supporting a plethora of options no other forums software supports as of yet out of the box and getting it right on the first try. "Version 1 is the best version of any software."

It was pretty lulzy.

EDIT: Found it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50617.0
1809  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Suspected ASICS scammer on: June 17, 2013, 09:08:49 AM

Just send back some fireworks.  Grin

They have been spamming me multiple times per day recently.

I have repeatedly asked them to remove me from their mailing list.
Their response seems indicative of a company with no ethics:

He went "all TOR" as far as I know. He's on BMR now as "rednile".

Thanks for the clarification.

Idgi. There's just a send and a cancel button.

What prevents me from punching you in the nose and then stealing ALL of your coins?

You also need to break into my house to steal my computer. Trezor, for that matter, adds physical barriers to stealing my Bitcoin. As you say, you have to

- break my nose
- break into my house
- steal my computer

This physical theft is more than enough for the police to arrest you, like a normal burglary.

So it's bound to a specific device? I understood it as a portable wallet you can just plug into whatever and authorize a payment.

I wish the website had SOME kind of information on how this is supposed to work instead of just a list of people going "That cool thing is a pretty cool thing."
1813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FREE ASIC's! - moderator note: scam- on: June 17, 2013, 12:19:35 AM
so who received the ASIC unit please post here

So wen does this begin?

See? Things like this happen on a regular basis and then people get mad at me when I say this forum is an attractor for the stupidest people on the planet

this forum should be 18+ only

Here's the rub. Judging from their usernames both of these are way over 18.

1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why didn't you switch to thinking in mBTC yet? on: June 16, 2013, 12:14:49 PM
Only complete idiots can be fooled into thinking that mBTC is better than BTC. It's the same goddamn thing.

Nu-uh, millimeters are much better than meters  Angry
Complete bullshit, you can't measure TiO2 particles in millimeters
Hail micrometers µm

Your micro-propaganda is disturbing. Next thing you'll say is there's a unit called say, let's pick an absurd phantasy name, Ångström.
What the hell is Ångström? Is this some Scandinavian god?
If you like it so much, then create it, define it, and make our units stupidly fight until the Sun explodes

Excellent. We should have big arena fights and trainer badges and clinics where your units can recuperate from fights. Any maybe one could put them into little balls to carry them around in.

So I go to the newsvendor and get the paper, but then I can't get a coffee next door, because I'm on cooldown?

Sure you can if the payee supports sending the transaction to the balance management database. The database will respond with a confirmation (digitally signed) which will then revoke the cool off time. The cool off time is there only to make sure that the database is up to date even if the payee doesn't support sending the signed transaction to the database for confirmation...

What if my newsvendor is out in his shitty little kiosk in the street? Cause newsvendors usually are.
